Vixx ft. OKDAL - Girls, Why?

Mina was awake during the night yet again just waiting for her boyfriend to return from his part time work at night. She knew he was working at some bar and she had nothing against it, except for her barely having time to spend with him lately. She wished she could cuddle against him while falling asleep. Her eyes would be closed while hearing his steady heartbeat. His arm would wrap around her in a protective manner as her breathing would become steady.

A sigh escaped her lips seeing the empty space beside her. She was lying in her cold bed just wanting it to be occupied with her boyfriend`s body instead of the white sheets greeting her. Her arms wrapped tighter around the extra pillow trying to replace the emptiness of her boyfriend. But the pillow was nowhere near the warmth her boyfriend gave her. After being awake for too long and being drained out of energy to keep herself awake any longer her eyes came to a close and she fell asleep.

Mina`s eyes fluttered open upon hearing someone shuffling around the kitchen and she jolted out of bed immediately. She knew it was Seokjin who was probably making breakfast for himself before heading for work. She ran over to the kitchen with a huge grin on her face. Seokjin blinked back at her seeing her being so energetic in the morning.

“Good morning!” She chirped and hugged him tightly. He chuckled in response and wrapped his arms around her too.

“Good morning to you too” He ruffled her hair the instant she pulled out of the hug. “Shouldn`t you be in bed?” He questioned grabbing his bowl filled with cereal and she shook her head in response. Mina had her summer vacation from college which only meant that she could sleep as long as she wanted, but today she didn`t want to.

“I`ve missed you” She mumbled lowly sitting across from him on the table and his hand stiffened while the spoon was in the air. He locked his eyes with her and sighed slightly the spoon being placed inside the bowl yet again.

“I`ve missed you too, sweety. But you know why I am doing this-“

“Yeah, I know. I don`t want to be selfish, but I just can`t help it. It was okay at first when you worked at the café only, but now at the bar during the night…I barely see you nowadays” Mina mumbled lowly with her head ducked and Seokjin reached over flicking her forehead making her pout and rub the area.

“It`s only for a while and you know that. Be patient and everything will be back to normal” He winked and she couldn`t help but melt by his small gesture. She loved everything about him, and seeing him dressed so nicely looking so stunning wasn`t helping her already pumped heart.

“Oh” His eyes rounded when he noticed the time. “I gotta go” He sprung up from his seat giving a quick peck on Mina`s cheek. He ran over to the sofa and grabbed his backpack that he would bring with him since he had a long day.

“What about breakfast?” Mina hollered after him but he was already out the door and she huffed seeing the bowl that was barely touched. She grabbed the bowl and placed it inside the sink.

She had no idea what she was supposed to do now. She had nothing planned out, and it was in the freaking morning. None of her friends were awake at this hour. Only she was because she wanted to get a glimpse of her boyfriend after 3 whole days.

Her appetite was long gone. She didn`t want to eat even if a little energy had crept in her body after hugging her boyfriend after long. She couldn`t help but feel extra lonely when she ate by herself. Mina stood in the middle of the living room scanning it as if something funny would pop out of nowhere. Surprisingly enough something did catch her attention. There on the bookshelf she noticed an album in the bottom shelf. She must have forgotten to put it back to place after looking through it with Seokjin last time.

Having nothing better to do she walked over to it and grabbed looking through the pictures. As she continued flipping through the pages she couldn`t help but miss the old times. Seokjin had been working at this new part time job for 1 month, but it seemed like a year had already past. She knew she was overreacting to all of this, considering the fact that he had just begun working there. But she couldn`t help but miss him a lot lately.

Mina closed the album and stared out of the window seeing how beautiful the weather was. The sun was shining brightly and she could hear the birds chirping which only made her all giddy. “A walk around the area wouldn`t hurt” She smiled and got up from her spot and changed into something more summerly and walked out of the house.

--

A couple of months had passed by now and Seokjin was still working at both of the part time jobs, even if he said he was going to quit at the bar once Mina`s summer vacation was over. Since he continued working there he began acting quite weird; he wasn`t as affectionate towards Mina as he used to be, and he was always drained out of energy. It was affecting their relationship and Mina was pretty much fed up with coming home to an empty house after her classes. Even if Mina needed complete silence around her when she was studying, this kind of silence wasn`t exactly what she was looking for.

Mina was getting ready for school and she glanced over at Seokjin who had his head bowed towards the cup of coffee placed on the kitchen counter. She had no idea when he began drinking coffee. The last time she checked she was sure he didn`t even like the scent of the mentioned drink. He turned around and faced Mina who was quietly eating her breakfast. These were the only minutes they got to see each other and they barely spoke during those 30 minutes.

Seokjin was busy trying to collect himself as Mina was slowly but steady getting tired of these encounters. She noticed how Seokjin was barely able to keep his eyes open as his head rocked from side to side. “Oppa…” She voiced out slowly and his eyes snapped open. That`s when she noticed the redness in his eyes and the small bags formed underneath them. “If you want I can take a part time job so we`ll be able to pay our bills-“

“I said I`m fine” He spoke between gritted teeth and she pressed her lips together placing the slice of bread back on the plate. She lost all appetite hearing the strict tone in his voice. She had been mentioning it quite a lot lately about getting a job of her own so he didn`t have to suffer on his own, but he wasn`t willing to cooperate with her idea. “You just focus on your studies” A hint of coldness was still sensible in his voice and Mina didn`t like it. She remembered when he used to say the same words only back then warmth filled her heart.

Without wanting to exchange anymore words with his girlfriend he walked out of the house so he could drive to his work. Mina ducked her head as her shoulders slouched. She too had to go to school, but lately all she did was copy what the teacher had written on the blackboard. She barely understood what was going on in class and when she came back home she had forgotten everything especially since Seokjin was the only thing roaming her mind.

This time when the class was over she was determined to visit Seokjin at the café. She knew this was the only way they could talk things out. He was never at home anyways, and she couldn`t wait for his arrival till late at night because she had school to attend. With determination she got on the bus that would take her to the area where he worked and she got off the moment her stop came.

While walking towards the café she couldn`t help but notice Seokjin standing outside and talking to an older female. He was wearing his apron which meant he was working, but she didn`t understand what he was doing outside with her during work hours. He seemed so comfortable around her, laughing loudly as they exchanged a couple of words. How he placed his hand on her shoulder once he was done laughing and how she smiled shyly at him.

Mina`s eyes slid away from him remembering back when they used to be just friends, how he told her his ideal type of woman was someone that was older than himself. Maybe he had realized it now, now that he had met this particular woman. Maybe that was why he was being so distant with Mina lately. She stopped in her tracks not being confident in her their relationship anymore. If this had happened a couple of months ago she would have marched up to them both knowing well Seokjin would greet her with a smile spread across his face; now she wasn`t sure anymore, she wasn`t sure how he would greet her when they barely spoke nowadays.

She spun on her heels and decided to take the bus back home to calm her now throbbing heart. She wasn`t sure what kind of connection he had with that woman. She knew she shouldn`t jump into conclusions before confronting him about it. But she couldn`t help but feel slightly betrayed seeing him talking to that woman so comfortably liked they used to before. Mina tried her best to control her emotions, but she failed as tears prickled at the corner of her eyes.

When she made it back home she decided talking things out with Seokjin would help. At least then he could get the chance to explain himself and tell Mina she had been wrong all this time. She just had to be patient for now and wait till next day so she could confront him the next day.<
