At the age of thirteen, Lee Soo ho finds himself sent to live alone in an island after the tragic death of his parents, far away from Seoul. He was brought to the house of a single mother and her daughter, Kim Joohyun, a charming young girl set to bring a smile on the depressed boy. She succeeds eventually, and the two finds themselves falling in love with each other, only to have their hopes of being together crashing down when Joohyun's disease is revealed, causing her to suffer a fatal illness which required immediate surgery. Desperate, her mother leaves to get a loan for the surgery, only to die of an accident on the way. Meanwhile, Soo ho is mistaken for the late son of a rich couple, who offers to give him the money for the surgery if he had agreed to be their adopted son, to which Soo ho agreed without hesitation. As the surgery proceeded, Soo ho is forced to leave the side of his beloved and was taken to study in America with the name Choi Minho, where he was informed a year later by his fearful adoptive parents that Joohyun had passed away from a surgery that summer; a lie made up in attempt to prevent their son from leaving their side. In Korea, Joohyun wakes up to the knowledge that the person she had trusted has left her for good, and swore that she would never forgive him, should they ever cross paths. Homeless and parentless, Joohyun is piteid by a talent foreigner pianist, who took Joohyun along with her back to her country Austria, renamed her as Bae Irene, and raised her as her own, training her to be a brilliant pianist.

     Now at the age 21, both children reunite in their homeland Korea, as a world class painist, and a talented man, who recieves a job as the manager of Irene. Here, they find the feelings they tried so hard to repress surface with full force, as they found themselves falling in love all over again.
