Thank You

Description

15-year old Leah had to shoulder the burden of being the leader in her group. She had to remain strong in front of her members and her parents. She had to pretend that the pain brought by the numerous insults and bashing people said about them didn’t affect her even though it did. It greatly did. There were times when Leah had to comfort Janey when she cries or Trinity when she stops practicing and just stands there looking sad. She had to do it. Sometimes, Leah wished she could just sit in a corner and cry.

Foreword

Leah was only 14 when she debuted with her group under GP Basic. Although they were young, the company believed that they will be able to go to the top but they didn’t. Instead, they faced insults and bashing because of their age. There were a few who acknowledged their talents but most didn’t. It all came down to what they would do.

In the end, it all came down to Hannah leaving the group to focus on their studies and Leah being appointed leader. She knew the responsibilities that came with being a leader as well as its privileges and burdens.

There were times when Leah wanted to quit. Times when she wished she was just a normal student, studying for exams and such. But, when those times happened, whenever she saw her members, she felt relieved and happy. She knew she made the right decision.

That was, until the pain made such a noticeable impact…

Leah was on her way to her house when a group of teenagers not much older than her stood in front of her, blocking her path. Leah looked up and saw that the group’s leader wasn’t happy at all. “What do you want?”

“Being all tough now that you’re an idol, huh, you piece of trash,” the girl said as she slapped Leah, her long nails leaving a long cut on her cheek. “That should teach you a reason,” the girl said as she stepped on Leah’s hand and left with her group.

Leah stood up and held her cheek with her hand. She took out her handkerchief and wiped of the blood. That was when the impact of the pain on her hand finally hit her. She dropped to the ground and held her hand close to her. It wasn’t bleeding, but the amount of pain it gave was enough of an evidence to tell her that it was broken.

She was about to stand up when she felt a hand on her arm, holding her up. She looked to her side and saw a boy, not much older than her, standing beside her. “Are you okay?”

Leah flinched when the boy touched her hand. Noticing it, she immediately withdrew his hand. “You probably saw that, didn’t you?” Leah asked, trying to smile but it ended up looking a lot more unreal. She sighs as she diligently tries to wrap her hand with her handkerchief.

“That won’t help it,”

“I know, but I have to do this. I don’t want them to worry about me,” she said, flinching when the boy took her arm away.

“Did you really think it would help? Doing this will only worsen your condition. You have to go to the hospital and have it properly cured,” the boy said sternly. Leah looked down. “I’m sorry,”

“You shouldn’t say things as if you understand my situation. I have to stay strong. I have to pretend it doesn’t affect me ‘coz if I don, it will only bring them down,” Leah said, tears streaming on her cheeks.

“Well, do you think it will be okay if you do whatever it is you’re doing even when you’re in so much pain? That will only be a burden on you,” the boy said.

“Fine, if I go to the hospital, will you stop nagging me?” Leah asked, finally giving up. The boy nodded and the two of them walked to the nearest hospital.

After a few moments, Leah was now wearing a bandage around her hand. “Excuse me, can you please fill this up?” a nurse said, handing her the form and leaving. Leah only looked at the sheet of paper.

“Why aren’t you doing anything?” the boy asked. Leah showed him her hand. “Oh, well, let me fill it up for you,” he said as he took the paper from her and started. “Name?”

“Kim Yoohyun,”

“Age,”

“15,”

“Birth date,”

“July 25, 1996,”

“Hm, well, this is weird, occupation,”

“Idol,”

“Idol…you’re an idol?” the boy asked.

“Well, I didn’t expect you to know me. Hardly anyone does, but yeah. I’m the leader of GP Basic, Leah,” Leah said as she sat down. “And you are?”

“BOYFRIEND’s No Minwoo,”
