Inspired from a series watched on tv as a child. In the show was about a world, where no adults existed. A strange disease wiped them out, and children of all ages fend to survive in the world, while trying to avoid getting the disease that killed off the adults. In order to survive they formed families that were like gangs and had names, and branded themselves to signify which gang they were apart of.

Taking ques from this idea, in this world instead of being idol groups, their groups are names of gangs and the fans are a part of these gangs but in lower ranks. In this world they survive together in areas, camps, buildings, etc. surviving life without demanding adult influences. In this kind of world, you belong to one group/gang.

Only a handful are called 'expressions' they do not belong to a specific gang/group. They hang out with a view, they are neutrals. Appointed as the listener's that will listen to disagreements and give thoughts and opinions on the situations. While groups are tagged with their brandings and colors (fan club name/ fan club color) the 'expressions' where all white and occassionally sport color depending on the group they're spending with, a lighter color of the branded color. Like a mood ring, there clothes change.

Read from the point of view of you, in a sense, your name in this will be known as May. You are from our world, and one day have walked through the door into this world. You are familiar with these group/gangs as idols and fandoms. But in this world they are not singing idols or actors.

True they are idolized by the members in the group known as (fandom name) sporting the fan (colors) and those have individual groupies sport a signifyer (ex. hyunseung of BEAST his individual fans are called Honeys so they sport a gold/honey color along with the grey or something honey related) But they do not have merchandise and albums etc like in your world.
