“I never thought you would be here.” Soojin let herself freely plopping down next to her friend. She was casually drinking Orange Water while watching the guys moving in agile as their shoes created many squeaking sounds.

“They’re going to have a match soon.” Iseul muttered while taking another sip of her drink, “I can no longer watch them anymore after the match.”

“You mean him, precisely, my brother. Am I right?”

“Please.” Iseul laughed lightly and gave a light nudge on her best friend’s arm, “He has a girlfriend, why would I bother liking him again?”

“So who might you be looking at?”

“Yoongi sunbaenim?” She randomly blurted. “He’s good.”

Soojin rolled her eyes and averted her gaze back onto the court. She folded her arms before letting out a heavy sigh. “You know, grade 12 students won’t be on the match since the national exam was accelerated.”

Upon her sentence, Iseul accidentally choked on the drink she was gulping as she earned a few pats on her back from Soojin. “Sorry. You were saying?”

“I’m saying that my brother and those grade 12 students won’t be playing in any matches. The government had just changed the national exam schedule. Their hardwork were pretty much a waste.”

“So…” Iseul trailed off, “Are you saying that they’re currently just playing randomly right now?”

“While training the juniors at the same time, actually.”

The girl inwardly frowned; truthfully, disappointed that she couldn’t watch him play. But after thinking it over again, it was quite beneficial for her since she wouldn’t have to meet Jin more often.

Think this as God’s plan to make me move on. Iseul did a small pump fist to cheer herself as Soojin smiled at it. “Getting some determination for something?”

“You know me too well.”

“Why wouldn’t I?”

Iseul bade goodbye to her best friend once again since she had to head somewhere. She threw the empty Orange Water bottle into the trashcan, suddenly, earning a few claps from the guy standing right in front of her. Iseul chuckled and walked to him, “What’s with that, Taehyung?”

“Just impressive.” He shrugged his shoulders, “You’ve got those basketball skills.” She sent him a look and eyed at the trashcan again, “I was only apart from it for 30 centimeters. How could I not miss?”

Taehyung walked towards it and randomly grabbed a piece of crumpled paper by the floor. He distanced himself for 30 centimeters from the trashcan and randomly threw it. “See? I couldn’t get it in.” He said, referring at how he missed the throw.

“Seriously?” Iseul laughed pretty loudly, “You’re something, Taehyung.”

“Of course I’m something. I’m a human, and human is considered as a living object. Object can also be referred to a thing. Hence, I’m ‘some thing’.”

“Cool theory.”

“I sense your sarcasm there, Seul.” He pinched her nose out of blue, making the girl to enlarge her eyes at his action. “Who allowed you to touch my facial features?”

“Why can’t soulmates do that?” Taehyung pouted. Before Iseul could argue, he grabbed her right arm and made it lock onto his left. “Anyhow, today is our shift, isn’t it? Let’s go together!” He chirped happily like a 7-year-old kid whom had just got a beautiful present for his birthday.

“Alright alright! Don’t get overexcited.” A chuckle escaped from her lips. “Oh yeah, I heard that you guys’ exams are being… accelerated?”

The previously happy Taehyung soon turned different; his mood was unexpectedly looking very sad and sorrow, imaginary rain started pouring over him.

“Uhh, Tae?”

“Apparently, yes.” He gloomily turned his head to her. Iseul flinched to see his now, lifeless expression. That accelerated too quickly from 100 to 0. “I have to study more from now on and visit the library more often, probably I could help you at the café only for a week too. Lastly, I had to go on December since my university starts really soon.”

His arm slipped away from hers. The both could feel how awkward the atmosphere suddenly turned into. Wait, scratch that. It wasn’t that awkward but more to gloomy.

“So…” Iseul started again with a low voice, “We should spend more time together then before you go.”

“Yeah. Maybe we should, if I have time.” Taehyung sent her a small smile before he felt his back getting pushed by someone quite harshly that he almost stumble over.

“Aye, lovebirds!” Jin appeared from the back and then patted the female’s head, “Thanks for yesterday, Iseul! Are your dad and you okay?”

“Ah, yes!” She quickly responded, remembering that her mate covered her up yesterday. Taehyung replied his best friend’s previous push with a pretty harsh pat on his back, causing him to choke on his own saliva. “Nice to meet you too, Jin. I wonder why people would push their bestfriends around?”

“Tae!” He pouted cutely, earning a disgusted look from his friend while Iseul was squealing internally. She just couldn’t get over it no matter how much she had seen it, and even though she knew Jin already had a girlfriend. It was hard for her.

“You guys finished the practice early today.” Taehyung jerked his head to the direction of the gymnasium and back again to him. “We won’t go for any matches and we had actually started for quite a while.” He said, slightly with a sad tone.

“I’m sorry to hear that, sunbaenim.” Iseul pursed her lips together.

“Nah, it’s fine.” Jin gave an assuring smile to the both, “Anyways, you guys must’ve wanted to head to the café for your shift?”

“Yep. You coming?”
