"There are things that we just can't control."  

I was smiling as I made my way towards my new home, my new sanctuary. I just got accepted and I will begin training with the team tomorrow. I haven't met all of them yet. I just met Im Jaebum--who was considered as the leader of the team--and Park Jinyoung. They are both older than me so I call them hyungs. Jaebum-hyung was a little bit hard to approach, but on the other hand, Jinyoung-hyung seemed friendly. They oriented me with the roles the members have in the team, and also warned me that they are a little bit weird so I won't be surprised when I met them. 

Jinyoung-hyung gave me the address of their dormitory and told me that they'll wait for me until 3 pm before they go practice. I was now in front of the house Jinyoung-hyung told me to go to, and with a nervous sigh but at the same time, excitement, I rang the doorbell. I can hear a small commotion going on behind the door so my eyebrows furrowed in curiosity. Not too long after, a boy taller than me opened the door. Upon seeing me, he immediately greeted me with a square-like smile. “Annyeong, I’m Kim Taehyung. You must be Park Jimin. I heard that we’re at the same age, that’s awesome.” He was talking very fast so I was a little bit surprised but managed to nod my head and to catch up with his words. 

“Ne, that’s awesome that I have someone at the same age as me.” I just replied, smiling back at him. He looked very friendly. However, he just kept looking at me and didn’t even invite me to enter so the atmosphere turned very awkward.

“Yah, Taehyung, what are you doing?” And then another man joined us. He has black hair and was very slim. Once he saw me, he quickly grinned. Just by his smile, I can already sense that he was a very positive and accommodating person. “I’m Hoseok.” He offered me his hand to shake which I did. “I’m Park Jimin.” 

“Nice to meet you, Jimin. Come in!” Finally, someone invited me in. 

Once I was inside, I immediately knew that I was in an all-boys dormitory. Everything was a mess—as if everyone gave up with cleaning. Hoseok might have noticed that I was culture-shocked because he chuckled—embarrassed. “Yeah, about that. Well, you know boys…”

I immediately smiled at him to indicate that it was nothing. “It’s okay! I know.” 

“Okay, then. Let me show you to your room. Well, as you know, our dormitory is a little bit small so you’ll be sharing with four people.” He then guided me inside as I saw two boys playing playstation in the small living room while another man was in the kitchen, eating. Taehyung joined him momentarily. 

“The two boys playing playstation are Jaewon and Yoongi, they are rappers.” Hoseok briefly introduced the two men who were too busy to even glance at me so I just nodded my head. “While the guy in the kitchen is our eldest, Seokjin-hyung.” 

I nodded again, observing Seokjin-hyung. He was very handsome and due to his baby-face, it didn’t seem like he’s the oldest. “You’ll be roomed with Yoongi-hyung, Jinyoung, Taehyung, and Jackson.” Hoseok continued as he finally showed me my room. The room was composed of two double-deck beds and another small bed on the corner. “You’ll be sleeping above Jinyoung.” He then helped me with my luggage so that I can start unpacking. However, another guy entered the room. “Yo!” he greeted us loudly, quickly approaching me. “I’m Jackson!” 

Hoseok just laughed at the guy, hitting him subtlety. “He’s Jackson. He’s from HongKong so he’s still learning hanggul.” 

I just smiled at Jackson. He had a good built and was also dressed in all black. “I’m Jimin.” That’s the only thing I can say in English. “Sweet! Nice to meet you Jimin!” He exclaimed, and since that I can’t understand a thing but my name, I just nodded and smiled at him. 

“How about I tour you around and introduce you to all the boys before you unpack?” Hoseok suggested which I agreed into. Jackson came with us since he was curious to how the other guys will react upon seeing me. “I heard you already met Jinyoung and Jaebum-hyung, they are not here at the moment. They are practicing at the agency.” 

I nodded again. “At five, we are all needed at the agency since we have practice. And unfortunately, you are not exempted even if you just moved in.” Another nod. I didn’t mind, I don’t want the other boys thinking that I’m lazy. 

We entered another room, which was inhabited by three men. A handsome man quickly stood up when he saw me and smiled. “Jimin, this is Mark. He’s also a foreigner like Jackson so he’s still learning Korean.” Hoseok introduced the man who was really handsome. I just smiled back at him as he greeted me warmly. 

“This is Kihyun,” This time, Jackson introduced another man who was watching something on his laptop. “Nice to meet you, Jimin.” 

“You too.” I replied and smiled. 

“And this one,” Hoseok-hyung walked towards the last guy who had his earphones on. He put his arm on his shoulders causing the guy to look up. “Ah, hyung.” He looked at Hoseok, surprised. 

“Changkyunnie, meet our newest member, Jimin.” Changkyun stood up and bowed politely at me. I just laughed shyly and also bowed back at him. “Nice to meet you.” He said, which I also returned with a smile. 

“Okay, okay, we’re done with this room! Now who’s left?” Jackson exclaimed, clapping his hand as if he was relieved. “Ah, the maknae!” 

“Ah yeah…where is he anyway?” Hoseok stood up but not before patting Changkyun on the head gently. He returned to my side and guided me out. “You’re gonna like him, Jimin-ah, he’s very cute.” Hoseok told me, smiling widely. 

“He’s a real cutie,” Jackson agreed, also grinning. Now I’m curious. I wonder what the maknae look like that all of them were smiling just by the thought of him. 

“Ah!” Jackson-hyung shouted, pointing at something. “There he is!” He pointed at someone wearing an oversized white shirt and black sweatpants. Unfortunately, he wasn’t facing us but rather was practicing his singing in a corner. 

Upon hearing his voice, my heart unconsciously skipped a beat. He was practicing near the window, causing the sunlight to illuminate his figure. I don’t know why, but there’s something different about him. I can also see his back, but there’s like a magnet between us that’s drawing me unto him. 

“Yah, Jungkook!” Jackson-hyung called for the young boy who was still entrancing me with his sweet voice. Jungkook. What a nice name for someone who has such a sweet voice like him. 

The young boy turned around, surprised. His deer eyes immediately caught my attention, as he looked divine under the gleaming rays of the sun. His pale white skin shone, as if trying to be camouflaged with his white shirt. He was about to ask why his hung shouted his name but then his eyes caught mine—making me gulp. His eyes were just too hypnotising that I think I lost my ability to speak. 

“Jungkookie, meet our newest member, Park Jimin.” Hoseok introduced me to the most handsome man that I’ve seen. He then walked towards us, flashing us a bunny smile. Man, he’s too cute. “Nice to meet you, Jimin.” 

“Yah, Jungkook, he’s older than you!” Jackson immediately scolded the maknae, causing him to chuckle in embarrassment. Ottoke, he’s too adorable. Even his laugh is so mesmerizing. 

“Mian. Nice to meet you, Jimin-hyung.” He then offered his hand for me to shake that I accepted with my trembling one. “Nice to meet you, Jungkook.” He then flashed me another smile, which was enough for my heart to do a somersault. 

I didn’t know how it actually formed, but that’s when my fondness and fascination with Jeon Jungkook started. The kid was just too charming and innocent for his own good, wanting me to just protect and shield him from everything. After my meeting with Jeon Jungkook…nothing was the same.
