"You're better to just find someone your own age anyway, and someone you have more in common with," Rina said, pulling her jacket around her body, "And so am I."

The school bell rang loudly in the distance, and Daesung threw a glance back across the street at the building. Class was the last thing on his mind right now but Rina's voice was a harsh reminder of reality.

"I'm serious." She continued, and dropped her gaze down to the ground, kicking at a few pebbles near her toes. "I mean really, plus I'm leaving next week for university and you keep swearing this music thing is going to take off soon, it's just sort of doomed, isn't it?"

He gave her a defeated look and shook his head. One of the worst feelings was when you knew something made logical sense but your heart refused to believe it. But maybe Rina was right, he thought to himself. Doomed. She was two years older than him and standing there with her jacket, minidress and heels, no longer sporting the high school student uniform that he was still wearing himself. 

"You're going to be late, you know."

The second bell rang and Rina locked eyes with Daesung, who looked like his entire world had been crushed with one blow. With no warning, she turned and started to walk quickly down the street, everything around her becoming a blur. 

"Rina..." He thought for a second to go after her, but what good would it really do? Not a damn bit he told himself as he in a deep breath and headed back to the school's main building.

Nothing mattered anymore. She rested her head against her knees, arms wrapped around her legs and not caring if her light purple dress got dirty from the ground she was sitting on. The first little empty alleyway she found, Rina turned into and fell apart. Everyone said this was for the best!! The why was it so freaking hard?!
