Society is crumbling, infested with creatures that are consumed with a ravenous desire for human flesh. And even as these creatures continue to proliferate, even as the world population continues to decline, Nayoung tries to search for a string of hope, tries to think of someone worth fighting for.

"I'm not a player," Minkyung says, flashing more of her teeth as her smile grows wider, cheekier, and goofier, "I'm just an inconsistent lover." And Kyungwon sighs, for the loudest time that day, because even as she hears those words for the umpteenth time already, she thinks she still can't quite understand her friend of seven years and counting.

The clock strikes midnight, signalling the start of a new day. Although this may seem part of the norm to any other individual, she considers it special, because it reminds her of someone, someone whose existence remains as the best gift ever presented to her.
