in the aftermath of a local uprising turned military revolt against the current ruling family, prince ryeowook finds himself at the mercy of the now victorious rebel forces. expecting to be killed, he finds a surprising way out when one of the main leaders and military generals of the rebel forces offers to spare him and crown him the emperor of a new puppet state--provided that he agree to marry him. 

heechul had called them lightning in a bottle once, earlier on when it had felt like there was so much more to lose. and maybe because ryeowook was a little selfish in the ways that mattered and kyuhyun was too they had carried on anyway. he had looked into the bright glare of stage lights and heard the roar of the crowd, glanced right at kyuhyun by his side and wondered why he couldn’t just keep both.
