I remembered how after that he would make a point of saying hello to me every day and I remembered just how good that made me feel, how it made coming to school day after day that much more bearable.

I know that if I could see him one last time, if my voice could somehow reach him wherever he is, I wouldn’t cry or scream at him for leaving me. I would let him know just how much I loved him, that I hope he isn’t hurting anymore, and that no one in the world is more lucky than me to have had him, even if only for a moment.
