At a young age, his family- his father, mother, older brother and himself had moved to China due to financial issues. Each day was difficult for the 4 of them as they could barely survive on the water and food they have since they needed to pay the medical bills for his brother with a heart disease. But, determined Taemin, didnt't give up. The day his brother had entered the hospital, he swore that he will not become a burden for his parents. So, at the age of 13, he worked illegally with 4 jobs. He was tired and he felt unloved, but, nevertheless, he did not once blame his parents. But, instead, he was happy.

He had two dreams. One was for his brother, Taesun to get better, and the other one was for himself to enter a dancing competition called KOD (Keep on Dancing) in Beijing. But, luck never struck him. He ended up moving back to Korea whilst taking a slezy job of crossdressing slash a stripper; he goes to any club that provides him with a job- he's desperate for money. Actually, luck was never good for him on second thoughts; his dreams got crushed on a cold night in Autumn where the ragmans fought over him over his money and jabbed him on the calf which caused him to cut that ligament. From that day on, he could no longer do excessive sports, which, included his love, dancing. He was crushed, but, he still dreams.
