Why do we make boy x boy fanfic?

Because some people like to be more realistic while writing a story. The world is not filled with straight couples only.

We make boy x boy & girl x girl fanfics because there's nothing wrong with it.
There doesn't have to be a "reason".

People have every right to write boy x girl, boy x boy, girl x girl.

because oc x idol fics ( or girl!idol x boy!idol fics ) are sometimes tooooo mary sue.

Can I add a 5th option? Because the authors who write boyxboy actually try to make the relationship somewhat equal and without all the ism and restrictions girl OCs often have. They also tend to describe idols they love better than some made up girl, thus bringing more realism :)
