It depends on what you're looking at. ; u ; Chen is underloved in terms of fanbase, but he's definitely known for his vocals. Xiumin is just...not known for his vocals/dance/rap that much. OTL He placed SECOND after Jino for the Everysing competition and one of the dance instructors/choreographers said that he was even better than Kai. I don't think Suho is that "underrated" because he doesn't do anything to stand out (as much as I love him). Sehun gets a LOT of an attention as he is the visual. I don't think he's anything special in terms of talent though. His rap needs more work, but he's a fine dancer.
in real life? well EXO's still relatively new compared to groups like SHINee and SuJu. when they're trying to get more popular, groups might neglect some members. i really think sehun was seriously neglected before growl...but xiumin OTL xiumin's super mega talented and i wish he got more parts. everyone knows chen's singing's amazing but xiumin's is, too!!! Suho is the leader and i mean he usually has some parts in most songs. anyway, i really think it depends on the song. like some songs call for more from certain members than others. xiumin's time will come when they get a song that suits his talents.
i think they'll all start getting their turn on aff xD a lot more people are like at least AWARE of how awesome they are now and how there aren't that many of fics on aff with them as leads. even i have like so many ideas for them now. starting a story takes time since people have to finish what they're on usually...i think the trends will start to shift a little bit...but i wish people would be less stubborn about their biases and start appreciating everyone in a group equally e_e
For me it's both Minseok and Jongdae, but I think Minseok is more underrated. Jongdae still gets credit for his singing abilities, but Minseok.. He hardly gets any credit for anything.. Well. That's my opinion at least. I can't stand it ^^'
