They're spending their time designing things for other people so why not? It's up to the designers I guess. Maybe they like doing it so much they think it's worth spending their time on idk

they deserve it because doing up posters or layouts take time and they only get a small note by the author which is sad :<

yeah they totally deserve it. if i was a designer it would feel weird to charge only cus no one else does...it should be a trend that it costs at least...idk 10 karma points or something. a lot of people - including me - request from a few shops too, trying to get the right poster (instead of just using one shop). and like when i first joined aff, i thought you had to pay some points. it only makes sense ;|

The spend their times on it and a lot of effort hoping that their costumer will be satisfied.

Because they spend time doing this for other people and don't get anything else out of it other than some recognition, you wouldn't go up to a normal artist and ask for them to do you a painting and not expect to pay for it... :3
