I know people who to go Korea to party and they say normally there isn't much dirty dancing unless you're in a more western club like in Itaewon (full of westerners) or a really crowded one full of young people like Hongdae or... Octagon in Gangnam (people with money). Then the guys get more confident and approach the girls they want to dance with. People smoke in clubs there and yes people hook up. I think it also depends on the music played. If it's more hip-hop then yes there is guaranteed to be dirty dancing but its normally the people who KNOW how to dance and have experienced western dirty dancing through having western friends and well... being a dancer~ Hope this helps!

I know nothing about this topic too, but i think with a country like Korea, there's bound to be some kind of dark side that probably isn't as known to much of the population. At least in my country, there are a few establishments that look quite innocent from the outside, but once you go inside... well, that's a different story!

Honestly, it depends on where you go. There are some trippy places in Hongdae and, as someone commented below, some more western clubs in Itaewon, but depending on what you're looking for I'd say that the safest bet is B One in Itaewon or the Crazy Monkey (?), I can't really remember the name since it was a while since I was there. At Crazy Monkey it's crowded as and people do nasty things dance-wise to each other, because it's the trashiest place you can find in Seoul. B One is pretty intense but it's not as trashy, otherwise there's Soap which is pretty fun. Soap has gotten really famous, too, I think specifically because lots of Koreans "let loose" there. However, generally speaking if you're at a high-end club in Seoul there won't be that much dirty dancing. It depends on what you mean by dirty though, let's say grinding or twerking, in which case you won't find a lot of that unless you go to one of the messier places that I talked about above. Octagon is a really famous club in Gongnam and when I was there I thought it was oddly classy. I don't know if celebs would frequent that place though, but from what I've heard you can sometimes spot some familiar faces there. Octagon is very pricey though. In a similar vein there's I think a place called Arena (?), also in Gangnam, which only accepts people who are dressed really well. Hella expensive shots. Oh well. On a more anecdotal note, I once visited a place called Vera in Hongdae. That place was ed up. STRIPPER POLES GALORE. 3/10, would not recommend.

@ScarletArrow I thought the same thing too! I was just concerned because they're more conservative as a culture, for example, PDA is still frowned upon, people won't go further than holding hands in public. Maybe things have changed though and I could be wrong.

Yeah it does, just nowhere near on the scale as it is in the western world.

From my second hand knowledge, yes this does happen.

(For the record, I know nothing about it, and I have no experience in the topic.) But I do have to ask - why not? As far as I can tell from sociology, all first world countries have clubbing, dirty dancing, and other such things.

i just know that it should be fine in the westernized clubs like in itaewon or something like that.
i remember doing research to for such a thing similar to that. lol
but clubbing is all about fun and having a good time over there.
it's frequented by mainly younger ones and especially on the weekends.
everyone's just there to have a good time and not really for hooking up.
but i'm no expert. this is just my own research as well.
