Does anybody like gang stories? Any ideas on popular story motif?

I'm writing two gang stories and seems like they don't get much attention because it's kind of unfamiliar and hard to feel the mood. (Kinship vs Friendship and Amnesia)
My profession is more on horror and mystery/thriller. I'm especially bad on romance. Any ideas, please?

I looooove this sort of theme. Mafia, Horror, Thriller, Dystopia, Gangs, Post Apoc, with a smaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaall hint of romance.

I think gang stories are interesting. I've always wanted to write a gang story about the underground hip hop group, Basterd (who are very underappreciated lol), with reader or OC becoming their best friend because she joins their gang (and of course there are many in the neighborhood) and over the years, one or both of the boys fall for her and somehow a relationship develops, but of course there has to be action too (like reader/OC being kidnapped or she's a badass assasssin or something like that) XD Kind of like a plot from the two gangs in the anime Durarara. Loool But I never have time to write >.< But if someone decides to do that, please tell me, I'd love to see it and even offer to beta it ;)

I like gang stories. But like any stories, the plot, character development and grammar determine if I continue to read the story.

Omg I love those types of stories gangs for the win. (Don't join gangs kids, that's bad) if you want to write a gang au I think it's best to keep in mind why the characters are joining or in the gang. Maybe the members formed the gang, maybe they got caught up in the gang, maybe they joined one... The background story is usually the driver of the story. It's the background story that's going to direct the characters in a gang au because it will tell how they act. Are they innocent? Are they bad ? Are they trying to get out? Are they evil or good? Get what I'm saying? To me the best gang stories are when they have a purpose. For example, one of the members is facing their past and the other members help. Or maybe one member got hurt and the gang is getting revenge. Bromance to me is key for these things but sometimes you can make a twist on the story and say that in the beginning the members don't trust each other (because who trusts people in gangs, I sure wouldn't) and the story is about how something dramatic happens that forced them to come together. it's all up to how you write the story and I think you should totally give it a shot!! Start with a one-shot if you aren't sure and see what feedback you get. If it's positive, go for it! If it's negative, well don't give up but maybe you should head back to the drawing board and see where you went wrong :)

I like gang stories if they're well-written. I just think you should write it and feel them. I think that's the best advice. If you like what you write, then you're doing good. People will read them if they want to. I don't think any horror stories are very popular on AFF.

I like gang stories, but it depends on what the plot is. And if the characters fit the story.
