Note: Wowsa, so for this one, I decided to do letter format--which I've dabbled in a bit, just with one story--and the reason I decided this is; the songs lyrics sound like a letter that would be read with a bitter edge to it. Idk this might just be me taking creative liberty...Either way! I hope you enjoy^~^ btw: I read this imagining her to be bitter.

Dear, my friend

Isn't it funny how I still use that term? Friend. At some point that word lost all meaning, when it was used to describe us. 
We both knew it was just a word, one that made you feel secure, and calm because at least there was something to label us.
We know how much you need a label to feel secure.

The sad thing is; I was okay with that. Because, in all honesty, it made me feel secure too, it made me feel like at least I was something to you.
It could have been worse, maybe I should be thankful you let us at least have that much.

Was it my fault? Was it because I was too afraid of my own trembling heart when you were near, I couldn't speak my mind properly. 
I fault like a toy that a child forgot to turn off, I would just repeat the same thing over and over,
"It's up to you."

Why did I let everything be up to you? 

It was probably because It made me feel good. When people would say they were jealous of how similar we were, how well we got along...
It's easy to get along when you let the other person be in control of you. That's what I should have told them. 

But I never did. Because all I wanted was for you to love me. I would mumble under my breath the things I couldn't say.

But look where all of this got us. The years of pushing what we truly felt away, and saying 'it's just friendship', and those terrible fake laughs that still wreck my mind.

And here we are, you're with her now, and I'm writing a letter of all my mistakes. I waited too long, I was a coward but so were you.

...If I could go back in time, I'd ask you for one thing;

Please tell me you love me.
