Siwon’s apprerance doesn’t vary very much from her faeclaims. She has long brown hair that she likes to wear down or in a high ponytail. While on Produce Angel, Siwon more often wears it up to keep it out of her way.

Her fashion is pretty casual. She is a huge fan of leather and denim jackets most often paired with plain crop tops, jeans or shorts and a pair of doc martins. On her denim jacket she has a collection of badges that she either got her self, ones from events she’s attended or spoken at, or ones her friends have given her. She has a couple of pride badges that she will often pin onto the pants she we wearing on any given days.

When performing, Siwon isn’t afraid to stop our of her comfort zone and wear her hair, make up and outfits however the stylists want her to.

Siwon tends to direct her energy outward. She is very people-oriented and altruistic. She is very driven to meet the needs of those around her. Wether that means listening to them or supporting them, Siwon would often drop anything to help those she is close to and in some instances even those she hardly knows. This would often lead to Siwon neglecting her own needs and well-being as she believes it is more important to help others if given the chance.

Siwon also believes her excellent communication skills help her greatly when it comes to listening to those around her. She tends to keep an open mind and listens to everyone. Even if she doesn’t agree with what they are saying, Siwon believes it is important to listen and be as empathetic as she can to everyone regardless of their beliefs. Siwon is very reliable. The idea of letting not just those she’s close to, but really anyone down is something she can’t stand to bare.

Siwon is also some-what of a natural leader. She often doesn’t seek to lead others but if someone requests it or no one else volunteers to do it, she will do it. She also believes that her ability to be a good leader down to the fact that she is very affectionate, loyal and affirming. Three things in which she believes a good leader needs. She also believes her good communication skills help greatly when it comes to this as well. Even though she is a good leader, Siwon can be very indecisive sometimes and often looks to those around her for support and approval when it comes to her decisions and mostly anything.

Siwon tries her best to be thick skinned when it comes to most things, but often times, when someone she is close to does or says something to hurt her feelings, she will harbour those feelings for a while. Siwon has been called overly sensitive by some people and she has to agree to some extent.

Background
Shin Siwon was born on February 4th, 1998 in Seoul, South Korea. Siwon would say her childhood was pretty average for the most part. AFTER Siwon had entered elementary school, whenever her friends would talk about boys, she often found herself disinterested. S he didn’t understand what was wrong with her. But one day when she was in fourth grade, a new girl moved into her class from another school and Siwon felt her heart start to flutter just like her friends would say theirs did when they were around their crushes. She instantly felt like there was something wrong with her. She had never heard any of her friends or anyone in her life ever talk about feeling this way about the same gender, so they had to be something wrong with her, didn’t there? Siwon decided from then on that it would be best for her to keep these feelings to herself and never tell a single soul out of the fear that they would think there was something seriously wrong with her, JUST AS SHE DID.

Finally when Siwon was twelve, after her feelings of being attracted to females didn’t seem to waver but only grow, she finally decided she was going to ask her mum about it. She knew that this would probably change her life in some way, but she wasn’t sure just how. The two of them were out at a cafe together after a day of shopping, but just when she was about to ask her mother, the two wERE APPROACHED by a man who handed them a card saying he was from WM Entertainment and that he would like Siwon to audition for the company. Suddenly Siwon forgot heR previous plans as she became distracted at the idea of becoming a trainee. Indeed, Siwons life did change that day, but in an unexpected way. 

Suddenly Siwons head was filled by the idea of becoming a trainee rather than the thoughts of something being wrong with her. It was a welcomed change by the young girl who finally felt like she had escaped from the self hatred and anxiety that had filled her brain since she was young. The thought of becoming a trainee had honestly never crossed her mind. She had always seen idols on tv but had never had thoughts of becoming one. She started to imagine what her life would be like if she were to become an idol and in no time, she was in love with the idea. After discussing with her parents, it was decided that they would allow Siwon to become a trainee if that is what she wished to do. After PASSING a small audition process, Siwon became a trainee under WM Entertainment in 2011 at age thirteen.

For the next few years, Siwon was too preoccupied with training to let her mind wander. Of course being attracted to girls while living in an all female trainee dorm did lead to some crushes here and there and minor heart breaks as trainees came and went, but Siwon did her best to push them aside and focus on her training. She decided when she became a trainee that she would put her all into her training and eventually, it payed off. After a while she was put into WM’s predebut team and a couple if years after that, Siwon finally got her chance to debut. Siwon debuted as a member OF Oh My Girl in April, 2015 at age seventeen.

After her debut, Siwon felt as if her world had opened up more than before. While training, she had grown to become more open as she had to train with so many different people WITH SO MANY PERSONALITIES and in turn, had become more open to herself. She slowly began looking into the LGBT community online and slowly but surely began to realise that there was nothing wrong with her, even if many people might think there is. She finally felt as though she was happy within herself and wanted to share it with the world, but she also knew that not only herself, but her group could face harsh ramifications for doing so. After all, being gay was still seen as taboo in Korea. So, she decided to take small steps and decided to come out to her parents in 2016. She had always knowN her parents to be open about a lot of things and this was no different. They told her they would love and support her no matter what. Siwon finally felt like she was on her way to becoming the person she was truly meant to be.

In 2017, Siwon decided she was going to attend a pride event in Seoul with some of the friends she had made within the community. She knew it was a risky move, but she could always pass it off as being a supporter of the community as other idols had done in the past. Siwon had taken all the measures she usually did to disguise herself when needed, but for some reason it hadn’t worked like it normally did. Photos taken by fans and non fans at the event quickly started to spread online along with rumours of why Siwon would attend such an event. WM Entertainment quickly called Siwon into the company for a discussion over what was to happen. They told her they were not going to respond to any rumours and didn’t question why she attended the event, but told her that she was not to attend any such events in the future and absolutely never mention anything related to LGBT in public ever. Siwon was enraged as they had never tried to control what the girls did in their free time for the most part, and this was something near and dear to her heart.

Siwon was soon contacted by one of her friends telling her that one of the organisers of the Seoul pride festival wanted her to speak at an upcoming event as they believed support from a public figure SUCH AS AN IDOL would be beneficial to the event. Siwon wasn’t normally one to go against her companies wishes, but in her heart, she knew the right thing to do would be to show her support for the community, so she accepted. Without her company or group mates knowing, Siwon snuck out of the dorm on a day off and headed to the event where during her speech, she publicly came out as a lesbian. It was not something she had been planning to do but it just felt right to her in the moment.

News of this quickly spread and it wasn’t long before WM caught wind of it. It didn’t take long before Siwon was not only kicked out of Oh My Girl, but also WM Entertainment. Of course, Siwon was devastated. She had spent so much time working hard to debut and working hard as a member of her team, but she finally felt like she was doing what she was meant to be doing.

Siwon quickly became one of the most vocal activist of LBGT rights in Korea. SHe decided to use her position as a public figure to help the movement. She created a youtube CHANNEL where she originally would post clips of her SPEECHES and such, but as she grew somewhat of a cult following, she would post more q&a's and things from events she ATTENDED. She also appeared on various shows and participated in various interviews as she wanted to push the movement into the public eye as much as she could. During this time, she also took up a job at an LGBT book store in Seoul to help support herself and her community.

After doing this for a couple of years, Siwon heard about a new show set to air in 2020. Siwon really did miss being an idol as she had grown to love it when she was one, but she knew no company would take her in after what happened with her previous one AND HER SCANDAL. So Siwon decided to take her chances and apply as a contestant for the show and was actually amazed when she was accepted. While participating in Produce Angel, many people believed that Siwon was only doing it to remain relevant in the public eye, BUT THIS COULDEN'T BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH.

Siwon began her trainee life under WM when she was thirteen years old after being street cast by the company a couple of months before hand. Starting training that young really took a toll on Siwon. For a girl who had never taken a single dance or singing class in her life, training was difficult. But nevertheless, Siwon put her all into her training and four years later, she got her chance to debut.

Siwon debuted as the second youngest member of Oh My Girl April 21st, 2015 at age seventeen. Siwon was obviously overjoyed at the fact she finally got to debut after so many years and that she got to do it with eight other wonderful girls. Unfortunately Siwon was forced to leave the group not too long after the group completed their promotions for Coloring Book in 2017 after she had publicly spoken and come out at an event at Seoul Pride in June of the same year WHICH CAUSE A HUGE SCANDAL AND RIFF WITHIN THE GROUP.

Parents : Shin jaeseop and Song Hyemi : Fourty-six and fOURTY-THREE : similar to Siwon's but with more of a parents vibe : Siwon will often tell anyone that asks that her parents are her main supports. nO Matter what she wanted to do or what she stands up for, her parents have always supported her and loved her. She feels like she woulden't be happy WITHIN without them supporting them like they have.

cLOSE FRIEND : Shin Hyejin (Jine) : Twenty-four : INFP : Hyejin and Siwon became trainees at the same time so after spending so much time together, it was only natural that the two girls would become close. When Hyejin went on Hiatus from oh my girl in 2016 due to issues with anorxia, Siwon became one of her biggest supporters. The two would talk almost daily, and Siwon would keep Hyejin updated on all the things happening within the group, drama and all. Hyejin was also the only member of the group that Siwon had come out to.

When hYEJIN WAS EVENTUALLY KICKED OUT OF THE GROUP IN EARLY 2017, hYEJIN WAS THE FIRST ONE TO OFFER HER SUPPORT TO sIWON. Dispite not being in the same city, hYEJIN WAS A GREAT HELP TO SIWON. tHE TWO MANAGED TO REMAIN CLOSE FRIENDS EVEN AFTER hYEJIN OFFICIALLY LEFT THE group later the same year.

Fellow contestants : Mari, Yerim, and Somin : Twenty-five, Twenty-two, and Seventeen : Siwon gets along with the girls all pretty decently. Out of the three of them, Siwon would probably say she gets long with Somin the most and out of the three you could probably find her hanging around with Somin the most. That being said, she enjoys the company of all of the girls and she feels like she could learn something different from all of them.

eX-GROUPMATES : Oh My girl : Siwon doesn't have the best relationsip with her previous groupmates, after all she did bring scandal to the group and Siwon gets that. Out of the current members, Siwon would say she currently has the best relationship with Hyojung. The two still communicate occasionally, but not very often. She hopes that one day she will be able to reunite with her formor teammates and have the same relationship with them as she once did.

Siwon originally learnt english to communicate with international fans when she was a memebr of Oh My Girl. She continued to learn it to help her with her ACTIVISM.
Siwon was a member of Oh my girl and participated every release from 'Cupid' to 'Coloring Book'.

As soon as Siwon met Jisoo, she was drawn to the older girl straight away. Even though Jisoo was known to be one of the more quiet girls, Siwon felt like she was someone she could lean on for support and help in the show. Jisoo was the first person Siwon would go to for almost anything. Anything from support, to a partner to even just someone to hang out with, Siwon quickly found herself spending mOst of her time around the older girl. If someone was ever looking for Siwon, there is a very high chance you could find her at Jisoo’s side.

At first, Siwon felt like she may have been annoying Jisoo. After all, there were a couple of contestants that didn’t really want to interact with Siwon because of what she believed in and spoke out for, but Jisoo didn’t really seem to mind, so Siwon continued clinging to her. After a while, Jisoo finally started opening up and talking to Siwon, mostly about the show and trivial things, but to be very honest, as she was mostly quiet, Siwon loved listening to Jisoo talk about absolutely anything at all. It didn’t take much longer for Siwon to realise that she was falling for Jisoo.

Siwon decided she wasn’t going to bring up the fact that she had a big fat crush on Jisoo to her but she also had a feeling it wasn’t hard for Jisoo and other people to notice it as she wasn’t very good at being subtle when it came to her crushes. But if Jisoo had noticed, she didn’t seem to mind as she didn’t distance herself from Siwon. This made Siwon start to think that maybe telling her wasn’t so bad, but she would hold off at least for now and enjoy the time she spent at Jisoo’s side as much as she could.

When Siwon found out that Jisoo was trans she was of course a little shocked as she didn’t see it coming at all but it also didn’t change the way Jisoo was in Siwon’s eyes. Her feelings towards Jisoo didn’t change or falter. Her heart would still beat like crazy and her stomach would still feel like it was full of butterflies when she was around her and siwon believed nothing would change that.

Not too long after finding out, Siwon decided to confess her feelings to Jisoo. Granted, it may not have been the best time to do so, but Siwon felt like it would be best to let her know that no matter what she still liked her, and no matter what was to come she would still like her. Siwon wanted to stay by Jisoo’s side and be someone to support her no matter what happened in the past and what would happen in the future.

"Vocalist and lead or main rapper, depending on the skill of the others within the group, of course! My position in my previous group was vocalist and rapper, but I feel like my rap skills have grown and improbved since then!" (IF BACKUP: VOCALIST AND DANCER)

out of 10 how talented would you consider yourself?
"Maybe a five? My dancing may not be the best, but I believe that my vocals are at least decent and my rapping is pretty good."

why do you want to be a kpop idol?
"To be honest, I miss it. I would also love to show people who are maybe too afraid to admit who they really are that they are valid and that they can still do great things, even when it feels like the wrold is against you."

do you have good stage presence and charisma?  what about star quality? 
"I believe I do. I think my previous time in an idol group coupled with my public speaking skills help me when it comes to performing on stage. again, I believe I do have star quality, But I guess it depends on who you're asking."

would you consider yourself a team player?
"I would say so! I believe the time I have spent working with my community has helped me greatly when it comes to being a team player."

Hello lily! I am finally done with Siwon! First off, I have to apologise for the PERSONALITY section. I am so terrible at writing personalities. I would say Siwon is a ENFJ through and through, so it might be easier to read about the personality by someone who isn't me (aka any of the 1000 websites that write about it) and knows how to describe it well. Okay that king of sounded like I was just brushing it off and being rude. I'm sorry, I didn't mean it that way!
