From his dad, Shinjiro learned to play these instruments, while his mom taught him about elegance and tradition. Their influence made Shinjiro deeply connected to Japanese culture.

 

As Shinjiro grew up, he began to explore modern music thanks to his best friend, Akio, who had been in a band since he was twelve. Akio introduced Shinjiro to modern instruments like the keyboard and electric guitar, teaching him how to play them. Shinjiro quickly developed a passion for modern music, finding particular joy in playing the keyboard. It became his instrument of choice, allowing him to express himself in new and exciting ways through the melodies of contemporary music.

 

As Shinjiro grew more confident in his musical abilities, he began joining Akio and his band for busking sessions around Kanazawa. TRAINEE LIFE

One year, two months under FNC, and five months under MIK Entertainment.

Shinjiro's time as a trainee in Seoul began with a language hurdle as he only knew a little Korean. But he dove into his new life, training under FNC Entertainment while also attending Hanlim School to learn more about Korean culture and language. Being a trainee was tough work, but Shinjiro was determined to improve. He spent hours practicing singing, and performing, slowly getting better every day. Along the way, he picked up Korean, gradually becoming fluent through his dedication.

 

 

Shinjiro faced a tough choice when FNC decided not to debut a new band anytime soon. They gave him two options to either train to debut as a K-pop group member or move to another company. With the fact that he is lacking a dancing background, Shinjiro chose the second option. He decided to leave and joined MIK Entertainment, a few months before his debut as CodeX's keyboardist. It was a bold move, but one that felt right for him. This decision allowed Shinjiro to pursue his passion for music in a way that felt authentic to him, setting the stage for the next chapter of his career with CodeX.

During his time with Mik Entertainment, he was known as a tough trainee, especially given his background as a former trainee from FNC. Despite being one of the youngest, many trainees were actually scared of him because of his cold appearance, which made him seem unapproachable. However, he was actually a fun guy to be around, and he began to open up and show his funny side after two months.

BACKGROUND It all started when Shinjiro was waiting to be called for the audition. Although he had been transferred from FNC to MIK, he still needed to audition for reasons that he himself didn't understand why. He was relaxing away from the crowd when a stranger approached him. She seemed to light up the whole room with her smile, but Shinjiro didn't care at first and ignored her.

 

Her words, like "Do you watch anime? You look like one!" really annoyed Shinjiro, who just wanted to be left alone. In his mind, he assumed the girl was probably on drugs. He found her weird for asking strangers such questions, and that's why he thought so. Shinjiro ended up ignoring the girl named Saerin until she gave up and finally left him alone, unaware that they would end up meeting each other more often later on.

It was then, right after Shinjiro had finished talking to Saeyul, that Saerin suddenly approached him out of nowhere. They hadn't really talked to each other since their first encounter until they officially became trainees there. "Hey, Shin, Shinji, Shinjiro? I mean..." Saerin seems to struggle to tell him something, "I, uh, I noticed you talking to Saeyul oppa earlier. Do you... know him well?"Shinji just shrugged his shoulders in response. "Well, not too close, but he's cool," he replied, keeping his gaze on her, waiting to see what she wanted to tell him. Perhaps she just wanted to get closer to Saeyul? Shinji suddenly realized that Saerin and Saeyul kind of looked alike. But their surnames were different, right?

 

 

Ah, so it's true that they're actually related. Shinji was surprised to learn this but kept himself composed upon hearing the fact. "I see," Shinji murmured. "And you want me to help you reconnect with him?"which Saerin responded with nervous nods. He couldn't help but notice her being nervous, hey, he don't eat human! And so, that's how he ended up helping her reconnect with her older brother, Saeyul.

Shinjiro was waiting outside the practice room, giving the siblings some space. However, he heard Saeyul's voice growing angry at Saerin. Concerned, he quickly entered the practice room and found Saerin looking stunned. Without hesitation, he stepped in to help her. "Hey, lay off her, man. She was just trying to reach out to you," Shinji said, his jaws clenched, ready to confront the older. When Saerin left the room, he chased after her. "Saerin! Hey!"

 

The moment he saw her nearly collapse, he quickly caught her smaller frame, ensuring she didn't hit the ground while helping her to calm down. "Hey, hey, it's okay. Just focus on your breathing, alright? You're gonna be okay," Shinji reassured her, supporting her until she felt better. "Thank you," Saerin said, to which he replied with a soft smile, assuring her that everything was going to be fine . "Anytime." he answered her softly.

 

And that's how Shinji realized that Saerin was actually vulnerable. From then on, he made it his mission to keep her happy and safe, even if he did it secretly because he didn't know how to openly show it.

✰ They were shipped by fans, with Shinji always taking care of Saerin. Their ship name is Pyualla (퓨알라), a mix between "puma" and "koala," which happened to be their animal representatives.
