APPEARANCE. Il-Seong has a toned, slim build similar to what you would see on a runner or swimmer. His skin is clear, soft to the touch, and beige in color. A Darker tone but not tan or what is expected of other idols. His eyes are brown, almond shaped, and have the monolid style to them framed by long eyelashes. His hands are large with long, think fingers that have trimmed and clean nails. Overall he has a neat appearance, but is not all that an idol is expected to be.

STYLE. He can be found in neutral colors most of the time, but what he wears is not quite so neutral. He loves to wear clothes that are tight and compliment his figure. Crop tops, skinny jeans, even skirts. If he finds it attractive, flashy, and flattering, he'll wear it.

Il-Seong has a way with words that draws people in. He is slow to speak, dragging words out in a way that some find flirty or attractive, and others find easy to follow. He knows the game. Smile here, tilt your head there, and people are hooked to everything you have to say. He is polite in speech and easy to speak with as he can listen well, or appear to.

The charm and politeness that he uses with people can often cover his true intentions, and he knows this. He can say such sweet, pleasant things to you as he lures you into a false story or trick. He can relax you before he flicks your nose. He can distract you before he pours salt into your drink. He is pleasant, but is actually quite the prankster. He is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Those closest to him know that he would never hurt them, but he is also not above making them just a little bit miserable as he smiles at them.

This man likes to argue. He doesn't like to fight. He doesn't like to yell, but he will be contrary and ask the reasoning behind most decisions before running head first into anything. He has experience of being young a rash. He will never allow himself to fall into that trap again, and expresses a lot of caution when moving forward. He has admitted in the past though that he at times does ask questions or disagree just to frustrate s.

His questions are not always an act of caution or to frustrate others, however. He is a genuinely curious person. He seeks to learn as much as he can simply because he believes that knowledge is true power. He asks, he tests, and he accepts as much information as he can hold. He is never shy about asking questions or trying new things, granted that he has all of the important information first.

Il-Seong has experiences that most of the members may not. He moved from home at a young age, got hurt pretty seriously, and developed some serious anxiety as a result. He used to rely on others, his brother and sister the most, but as he had to grow so quickly from the child with foolish dreams into a man who understands more of his chosen world, he has learned to rely only on himself. Of course he opens himself to s and accepts their input or company, but he much prefers his own moments and his own choices. He likes his freedoms and gets tired of being in a group constantly. He has his own money. He has his own items. He doesn't need anyone else constantly. He just enjoys them when he is in the mood, otherwise he is fine on his own and is very proud of this fact.

His independence and his need for space has lead him to be a bit detached or disconnected at times. He gets lost in his own head, his own pastimes, or even just floats into daydreams. He doesn't always feel connected to others and can even fall into what he calls a fog as he watches them go about their lives around him. This aloof or detached state is likely why he is found napping as often as he is. He just can't stay connected.

This man is charming, but his tongue is quick when prompted into action. Do not try and sass him or approach him with sarcasm, as he will snap back with a biting remark just as quickly as a comment is made. It can be a joke and he will follow up. It can be an insult and he will strike back. It can be a passing comment or a story, but he will always follow up with a response and zero care for what comes out of his mouth. He often has gotten into trouble for his wit, but never bothered to care as why should he limit himself when others do not?

His wit stems from his mind never quite settling down. He can appear calm, relaxed, or even distracted but he is always listening. He listens, watches, and reacts as best as he can, never fully in a relaxed state unless he is completely comfortable with where he is. He is aware of where he is in comparison to others, who is around him, and what their threat level is to himself as well as his loved ones.

He has a lot of fear for those he cares about. He tries to keep it from affecting his day to day life with those around him, but he struggles. He often warns the members when he sees something that makes him nervous or he'll keep them between himself and whatever he views as a threat to protect his knee.

His constant anxiety and need to be aware of what's happening around him has helped him to build up his perception towards people. He isn't the best at understanding or leaving buttons un-pushed, but he is aware of more than he lets on. He may know what one person likes and one doesn't even if they never directly said anything. He may have heard discussions and had time to consider it before he approached someone, if he felt it was warranted. He has an understanding of those closest to him that he often keeps close to heart due to a fear of crossing lines he shouldn't.

He is never able to stop thinking. He focuses and builds up emotions internally, nervous to cross lines, push buttons, but unable to stop himself as it's fun and he get's reactions. But what if he pushes too hard? What if they hate him? He doesn't cry in front of others, but Il-Seong is an emotional mess with too much going on in his head. He chooses to appear aloof or okay however as his problems are not those of others.

He has been told that it is okay to rely on others, was even encouraged by family, but his pride and hard-headedness has made him stick to himself. His mind is hard to change when he sets it to something, a trait that has often lead to arguments before. He doesn't mean to be so stubborn, but if he is right, he's right.

BACKGROUND. (1996)

Il-Seong was born to the Jung family as the second son. He had a loving family over all. His brother and sister were his best friends. His mother doted on him and supported his dreams. His father was strict, but caring in how he handled things. Overall he had a happy, loving family. He had very little to care about in the world other than what any child does, school and dreams. He wanted to make his parents proud, but he wanted to be just like his big brother as wel. Overall, Il-Seong was just a normal, very happy child.

As school years came around, he did face some bullies. He was the smallest of his classes and easily distractible. He was shy and didn't talk to many people his own age. He liked to read and sing songs, so he quickly was marked as the odd kid out by those he thought he should act differently.

He was shoved and mocked in his first three years of school. Boy will be boys. He sat on pins or had things stolen from him in years that followed. The worst case was when he was nine years old. His bullies who had picked on him within the first few months of their first years together had gathered a few older brothers. There were to of his grade bullies and three older boys, not much older than the rest of them. They sneered and jibed at him, calling him names and accusing him of things he had never down as they made a point to shove, kick, and hit him. He went home with a bloody nose that day and never told anyone who did it. His siblings began to walk him to and from school after that in hopes of keeping the bullies away, but the words always stuck.

Useless. Weird. Talentless. A waste of space.

(2007)

He had tried to go to dance school with his older brother, but ended up failing out after realizing he wasn't a dancer. He knew his father would rather his children chase reachable dreams, not waste away on frivolous pastimes and dead ends. He had heard his parents argue enough about both he and Hoseok going to dance class to remember and understand. He had come home early after being bullied by some of the better dancers only to hear what his brother had not. Money was tight and neither of them would go anywhere with their pipe dreams.

As a result he focused on teaching himself the more vocal aspect of performing to try and make his parents laugh while Hoseok continued to chase his dreams of dance. He'd write songs, copy the way artists like Tablo or 1TYM rapped or sang. He'd make it goofy and work hard at school in an effort to make his parents proud and help his brother by keeping the attention and the mood good. He just wanted to stand beside Hoseok on stage one day. He could do that as a vocalist of some kind and keep his parents happy, right?

He never had a solid dream growing up, but he knew he admired his brother. His sister was a goddess, but his brother was his goal. His brother was strong, funny and kind. Il-Seong wanted to be just like him. They didn't always agree on music or how to go about it, but late at night they would whisper to each other about being an idol like those on TV. Hoseok would be the best dancer and Il-Seong would be...whatever he ended up as. Hoseok told him he had talent. Il-Seong couldn't see it, but wanted to believe he could match his brother one day.

(2010)

In 2010, Hoseok left to join a company in Seoul, Korea. Il-Seong tried his best to follow, applying to the same company and any others he could find. He was denied at every corner as he wasn't handsome, he wasn't able to dance well, and his voice was too common. He was also only thirteen years old at the time, but he was devastated as he had always wanted to stand with his brother as a performer. Now, his brother had left him behind in a place that only brought him misery.

His mother had taken more hours to support Hoseok's training, their father wasn't happy or supportive of useless dreams, and their sister was busy building her own future. Il-Seong was stuck as the youngest, most useless member of the family as he couldn't even stand up to his own bullies. He slowly began to hate himself. This self hate pushed him to try harder, to be better, to me more.

(2013)

After three years of applying to every company he could find, Il-Seong was finally accepted into a small company trying to make it's name. He had worked hard in his free time, putting his studies as a last resort. He trained himself by using online sources and his brother's stories. He worked hard to learn to rap by acting as an aid to any recording studio that would let him, listening and mimicing all that he heard.

His father was furious. His mother was worried. His sister worried but tried to be neutral. Hoseok never was told, or at least not right away. Il-Seong wanted to walk on his own two feet and work to meet his brother on stage as an equal. All of his work had helped him to see that he didn't have to be a supporting character in his brother's story, but that he could work to better himself to stand beside him as an equal, or maybe even rise above him one day. Il-Seong never mentioned that his brother was most likely exhausted from his own debut and most likely wouldn't want to hear about Il-Seong's new status as a trainee.

He moved to Seoul quickly after he was accepted, using the money he had earned acting as a studio aid instead of taking what his mother tried to hand to him. He was grown and he was chasing his dream. He could do it on his own, even if he had to face training unlike anything he had faced before. There was no mercy even for the young.

(2014)

After a year of near torturous training, Il-Seong was finally able to debut. He texted his brother as soon as he found out, not wanting to bother him as he prompted, but proud that he was finally getting closer to his goal. He was only fourteen, but he was going to debut with a five member group named TopBoyz.

The group itself was okay, if you asked Il-Seong. They weren't close as they weren't given the most time to build bonds, and Il-Seong was so much younger than the others that they saw him more as a problem than a member of the group. He tried to make the best of it however by remaining quiet and working hard. He never complained if they hit him or took food from him with claims that he was too fat to eat. He just grit his teeth and smiled in the face of what he viewed as challenges. His brother was able to do it, so he would too.

Debut went as it does for most groups from a small company. They weren't loved by any means, but they were able to go for a few months and even attend a festival for performances. They weren't there to win anything as it was a small, outdoor festival for promotions. There were big names appearing however and many fans showed up to support their favorite artists and groups.

As TopBoyz was off to the side of the stage, waiting and watching until they could go up to do their own performance, the crowds behind them changed. A group not expected but fully loved had stepped onto the stage, and the crowd went wide. As new artist with little fame ot their name they had been settled in an area with less security. None had thought much of it as it was mostly used as a waiting area for groups like their's. It was a mistake on the venue's and company's part as suddenly, with the appearance of the group, the audience behind them surged forward and knocked over the barricades.

Il-Seong had ended up trapped under the metal bars with the weight of the audience trampling over him. It was cleared quickly, but by the time everyone had been cleared and the area checked for those who were injured, Il-Seong had passed out. In the end he had broken his knee and ribs, fractured his wrist, suffered ACL damage, and had a concussion. There were other minor injuries as well, but the major injury was to Il-Seong's mental state and his right leg. It was later found that he was ten pounds under weight, overly exhausted, and not healthy.

(2016)

After recovering from his injuries, severing his contract with his previous company, and facing some council to help with his newfound fears of crowds and being trapped, Il-Seong was able to join Hybe. He joined in February on his brother's recommendation. He wasn't sure if he wanted to join after he found out his brother was the reason he was able, but he still had a dream to chase. He would reach the stage once more and make his family proud.
