🏹 jiji, jina the "standard nicknames" starter pack. jiji is fairly self-explanatory, most of her friends and group mates call her this for convenience sake, though jina is bit more unique. her dad started calling her this when she was a kid, one time he was so angry at her that jina came out instead of jiahn. they laugh about it now, and it's become one of her usual nicknames as jiahn usually introduces herself with "moon jiahn, but you can call me jina if you like."
🏹 mc princess the "mc" taken from the alternative name for a rapper & "princess" because of her visuals, this was something her old underground hip-hop crew used to call her teasingly. after telling the story to her group mates in rendezvous, they also adopted the nickname for funsies and to also hype her up after she spits a verse. despite wanting to put her past behind her, jiahn can't help but love when her rendezvous girlies use it.

APPEARANCE jiahn used her cut from the prize money her crew got from the 2016 rap competition in seoul to fund a double eyelid surgery that she got that same year. it's currently her only procedure done, but in the future she wouldn't mind dabbling in lip fillers. for her makeup, jiahn prefers a more subtle look for her everyday makeup; brown eyeshadows and eyeliners, some mascara and peachy toned lipsticks is her go to. though of course to match her fairytale fantasy she may spice a look up by adding glitter to her lids, shimmery lip gloss or even gems to the corners of her eyes. as far as her nails go, she enjoys a baby pink, purple or light blue base. jiahn enjoys some nail art here and there if she has the time for it, getting some gems, charms & glitter added to her base nails.
STYLE jiahn has quite the unusual style- she loves feeling like the main character in a fairytale movie. floral print, flowy fabrics & corset tops are all staples in her closet. white, black & neutrals are her favorite colors but she's open to other colors too, especially on days in which jiahn doesn't feel like going all out and dresses down a bit, as can be seen on the second-to-last row in the moodboard below. for shoes, jiahn loves a chunky heel, whether it's on a mary jane style heels or loafers. she also loves a good white converse, believing that it's the one shoe that can go with any outfit. for jewelry, the daintier the better, not having any preference to gold or silver and instead just chooses what she finds most appealing. small cross-body bags are her go-to for purses, owning a few white, black & beige ones (a coach bag is a must).
of course the most notable trait of hers to remain is her devotion; to her craft most of all, but jiahn is devoted to anything she is passionate about. even when rapping in a crew could have resulted in a threat to jiahn's wellbeing, she persevered anyway because she believes that her passions deserve her full time and energy no matter what. she has a strong will to achieve her goals and jiahn has a strong desire to see it through and make her dreams come true; nothing could stop her from becoming a rap star (and eventually, a girl group member).
despite her willingness to be bold with her work, jiahn has become quite hesitant over the years, something that was not a problem for her in the past. jiahn never shied away from making friends, but now the girl has a hard time trusting others because of what she's been through. she'll preform on a stage for hundreds, but will get nervous if she has to go to the grocery store alone. anxious thoughts follow the young rapper whenever about in public and sometimes even before bed. just one unnerving incident could ruin an entire day for jiahn and she would not be able to stop thinking about it.
some days jiahn will find her mind wandering into total despondence. she takes her position as center very seriously but of course having so much riding on her as the girl that is responsible for getting the group's name out there is a huge thing; when it hits her all at once, it can cause a certain type of stress that invades her thoughts deeply. it's easy for jiahn to fall into a sense of lost courage; asking herself if she is really fit for this, if she fails what could she say to prism or the other girls in the group? others may try to talk jiahn out of this state, but when she's in it she gets deep into it; jiahn herself is the only one capable of lifting herself from the shadows, at least in her eyes.
this is because unless you're someone she can 100% trust, jiahn will find it hard to open up. when they try, it could even turn into an argument. jiahn in general doesn't hold back when it comes to expressing differing viewpoints when they're presented to her. it's usually quite hard to change jiahn's mind, for the most part jiahn is dead set on her opinion but can concede in rare times, usually when it comes to facts as jiahn can't easily dispute those
it's not all dark clouds and storms with moon jiahn, her palette is filled with rainbow as well; the girl is very thoughtful when it comes to those she cares about. many are surprised when jiahn can recall what a friend said months and even years ago. jiahn takes great care in actually listening to her loved ones and using this information to show them how much she cares about them. one time wonhyuk mentioned liking a certain brand of strawberry milk and a few weeks later that same brand was on his desk as a present from jiahn.
when in high spirits jiahn can be playful with her friends and group mates, lightheartedly dancing around or joining in on the 4d member's silly antics. those that are able to meet her for the first time tend to say that jiahn has an effervescence about her, that she is obviously enthusiastic when it comes to her work and group and it shows on her face when around them. her smile is vivacious and her energy is fairly sensual, known for causing a blush or two amongst the people around her.
growing with a dad that has a fairly lucrative job, jiahn is used to getting things that she needed and wanted. it's partly another reason for her mc princess nickname, as she not only looks the part of a princess but was raised as one as well. she isn't materialistic per say but she does enjoy the finer things in life, her dad's salary being able to provide it but that all changed when jiahn became a trainee and on her own (though her dad still sends her allowance, spending money is different from being gifted things). she's hardly used to being told no, and with her blunt nature tends to respond to "no"s with "yes" or "i'm doing it anyway" thankfully however, she's grown out of being a brat but her bluntness stayed, after all you can't take the princess out of a girl even if you take her out of the kingdom.
moon songil traveled to san francisco in march of 1997 with his family and ended up having the most whirlwind romance of his life; jennifer lee, a korean american whom lived in san francisco at the time, served the family at the korean bbq restaurant she worked at which eventually lead the two 23 year olds to meet up after her shift. the rest is history; if you had assumed jennifer became pregnant, then you'd be correct. thankfully the two lovers, who didn't see this as a fling and genuinely had fallen in love, had exchanged numbers and intended on making their romance a long distance one. jennifer was able to reach out and tell songil the news in may; she was three months pregnant.
songil considered himself to be a traditional man, but a good man first and foremost. not only that, but he was also a man in love; the thought of starting a family with his beloved made him giddy. he wasted no time making the arrangements to fly jennifer out to daegu, his hometown, where they would soon marry and have their child. jennifer put on a brave face, especially because her parents were delighted at the news of songil making all of these arrangements; you have a man that loves you and is willing to raise your child, what is the issue? jennifer felt awful, but the issue is that this all happened in the span of three months and she isn't sure she's even ready. yes she loved songil, but she imagined the family part would come much, much later.
regardless, at her family's insistence jennifer found herself on a plane flying to daegu. songil worked as an electrical engineer for a software company in daegu and was making more than enough to provide for the both of them. he didn't force her to stop working, by any means, but he insisted on it because he loved her and wanted to take care of her. jennifer still felt suffocated though, the young girl loved to work, loved having something to do where she could meet people. it was hard finding friends in daegu, especially when she spoke; her korean was very good, but it was obvious to native speakers she wasn't born here. it seemed nobody wanted to get to know her. jennifer really missed home.
moon jiahn was born in december of 1997, and jennifer finally felt at ease at first. jennifer finally had something to focus on, and she fell in love with jiahn at first sight. the first year of her baby's life was amazing, but the second year came, and then the third, and jennifer started to miss home once again. the young woman still hadn't made any friends, still hadn't felt like she assimilated into daegu. in fact, she hated daegu, the cold weather especially. being home with jiahn was her only lifeline, and of course she loved songil, but she felt trapped. jennifer just wanted to be back in san francisco. and so, she left. when jiahn was four, jennifer took off into the night via cab and fled to the airport, leaving a note behind.
songil was devastated, but he persevered for jiahn's sake. he had enough money to send her to daycare when he was working, and did his best to take care of her when he wasn't. as jiahn grew up, she eventually got in contact with her mother via phone. it was rocky at first, but jiahn eventually forgave her mother and the two have a good relationship now.
songil loved 90's hiphop & rnb and played it around the house constantly when jiahn was growing up. biggie, tupac & nas became regulars in the moon household, and jiahn loved it. hiphip inspired her greatly, by the time she was 11 and able to work a computer, she was constantly researching the history of hiphop and discovering more recent artists, though her heart will always belong to the classics. in her tween years jiahn had starting writing bars of her own, scribbled in her school books and homework. her dad supported his daughter's dreams when she told him she wanted to be a rapper, though on the inside he was a bit nervous for jiahn's future; still, he didn't let that show, didn't want to let jiahn down.
by 2013 jiahn was spitting bars often, though she was by no means a great rapper yet, she wanted to be. she met a boy by the name of kim wonhyuk and the two became very close over their shared love of hiphop and dreams to be rappers. that same year wonhyuk joined a local daegu rap crew by the name of tiger mob, which consisted of a bunch of young local rappers. jiahn wanted to follow suit, but also wanted to brush up on her craft first, which she did for the rest of the year.
when 2014 came jiahn felt like she was ready. she found her weak points, which was mainly finding the rhythm of a beat and being more creative with her flows, and worked on them constantly. with a good word from wonhyuk, jiahn started showing up to tiger mob hangouts often and jumping into cyphers, impressing the crew with her ability to freestyle on the spot. jiahn was eventually accepted into the crew, and couldn't be more excited; songil allowed her as long as she maintained a decent grade-point average. her days consisted of her going to school, heading to the tiger mob hangout after school and practicing with her crew, before going home to study at night.
the crew started entering into local rap competitions, the first being later the same year in 2014. tiger mob didn't win however, but ended up gaining a new adoring fan. not much was known about this guy- he could've been the same age as jiahn or older, but he didn't look much older than 22. however, he became fascinated by jiahn. whenever tiger mob would participate in open mic nights, he was there. competitions, he was there. eventually jiahn starting noticing him at her school, too. he would blow up her social media with professions of love and eventually found her number somehow and blew up her phone too.
her dad was outraged and called the police, but they told songil there was nothing they could really do. desperate, he tried to get jiahn to quit tiger mob, but she couldn't; rap became her only salvation, her only escape from the anxiety and being able to share that with her crew became her main reason for getting up in the morning. they even got 2nd place at the 2015 rap competition they entered! the same one they lost last year. they were getting better, jiahn had to stay.
jiahn continued her days like she always had, though with the added stress of blocking her stalker every time he made a new account or number. 2016 rolls around like this, and the tiger mob get an email about a huge rap competition in seoul. the prize money was amazing even for the 2nd and 3rd place finalists, they simply had to go. jiahn snuck out that weekend in june of the competition to get on a train ride to seoul, knowing her dad wouldn't allow her to. her anxiety was quelled later that night as the tiger mob won 2nd place, not 1st like they were hoping but amazing nonetheless.
unbeknownst to jiahn, there was a person in the crowd that was a scout for prism entertainment, whom was taken by jiahn's verse in her crew's performance and approached her after the show to encourage an audition. despite being legit and handing her a card, jiahn was still a bit hesitant; after all, given her current circumstances, she found it hard to trust anyone. however, she eventually relented and told the "scout" (whom unbeknownst to jiahn was actually the ceo, jin siryeon) that she would think about it.
the year prior jiahn began dating a member of the tiger mob, jeon jaehwi; their relationship was still strong up this point, much to her stalker's chagrin whom always let her know his disappointment of her dating. jaehwi laughed it off when jiahn told him of the offer to go audition at an idol agency. "babe, that would be selling out. you're seriously not gonna do it, right?" jiahn agreed, though in the back of her mind she wasn't sure.
that all changed later that week. tiger mob was taking a break to rest & and enjoy the upcoming summer break after the competition so jiahn went straight home after school, her father still being at work so the girl was alone. she had earbuds on and didn't notice she was being followed, didn't notice that person was still outside even after jiahn entered her home and definitely didn't anticipate that person breaking in. they busted in through the back door, a mask on but jiahn knew instantly who it was. thankfully she ran out the front door and to a neighbors house where she was able to call the police.
it was decided to jiahn that day. despite her obsessor being arrested and the harassment put to an end, she didn't feel safe in daegu anymore. songil hesitantly agreed; as much as he didn't like the idea of his daughter being in the big city of seoul, he knew she would feel much better with an entertainment company that, despite being fairly unknown, could look after her. jiahn auditioned for prism entertainment and was (after some trials) accepted, and the young girl didn't hesitate to pack her bags.

sometimes jiahn will tease the younger girl, never from a bad place but if she does go too far she'll apologize endlessly. she'll start beatboxing and try to get joohuyn to rap, noticing she likes to, and will hype her up or spit a verse of her own if joohyun plays along. jiahn likes bringing a playfulness out joohyun, loving seeing her fairy break into a smile. it drives jiahn crazy when joohyun will jokingly say "no" to her, but of course it never lasts long. later down the line jiahn will come to an epiphany that she's fallen in love with joohyun. it's all new territory for her; she's never felt this way for someone of the same and she's not entirely sure what to do. the last thing she wants is to put joohyun on the spot if she confesses, not that she fears joohyun wouldn't approve but the thought of pressuring joohyun to come out if she hasn't yet, especially in a place like korea, doesn't sit right with her. alternatively if joohyun doesn't feel the same, it may alter their friendship- jiahn just might take these feelings to the grave.

TRIALS despite being scouted, in order for jiahn to be start her trainee program she had to go through a few trials; her rapping caught prism's attention but the girls she would be training with if she passed all have training experience previously and there was a worry jiahn would be too far behind. her first audition song, yezi's "cider" cemented her rap ability but not much else; prism had her audition two more times, one vocal based and the other dance based. for the vocal audition jiahn did a rendition of tiffany's "i just wanna dance." was it obvious jiahn didn't know any vocal techniques? yes. but her voice showed potential for at least having more lines than rap verses. similarly after jiahn did her dance audition doing her best to follow red velvet's "ice cream cake" choreo, prism saw something they could work with, so jiahn was acceopted & started her program.
TRAINEE LIFE jiahn was a bundle of nerves and stress when she started the program; for the first few weeks she was constantly looking over her shoulder, the remaining anxiety from her recent circumstances plus being in a new environment had her on edge. once she started getting into the flow of trainee life though, it became a bit easier for her to keep her head up and even try and make some friends. to her surprise one of the other trainees recognized her from some tiger mob videos. jiahn tried not to appear bothered by it, and thanked her for her compliments about her rap abilities, but she worried about that trainee posting about her new trainee status, officially branding her a "sell-out."
it also wasn't the only reason she was nervous; the idea of her location being out there didn't sit right with her either. for full transparency she decided to have a meeting with prism to tell them about her recent stalker incident. they appreciated her honesty, and reassured her of her safety. jiahn wasn't expecting such a response from a company in the k-idol industry, it made her feel truly safe. one thing that wasn't able to be quelled was jiahn's fear of being called a sell-out; despite breaking up with her boyfriend not long after moving to seoul his words still rang clear in her mind even with her best friend trying to ease her worries. though after being in prism for quite a while jiahn starts to loosen up; prism was such a safe and healthy environment that it really helped her mental health.
rap wasn't a problem for jiahn when it came to training, but she did struggle a bit with singing. her singing voice is nice, it's one of the reasons prism decided to take a chance with her, but she had no experience with it before so they had to start from ground zero. thankfully dancing was actually quite fun for jiahn; she certainly wasn't the best in her class but she could keep up, finding that dance and rap have a lot in common when it came to sensing a beat.
eventually the day came when jiahn found out she was debuting; she did have a hunch given that she was scouted, but of course a debut is never guaranteed. it was such a weird sensation she felt at the news; she wanted to feel happy and excited, but it felt like something was holding her back. after some soul searching with joohyun jiahn realized she was still holding onto the tiger mob days & the sell-out stigma. once jiahn allowed that part of her life to be put to rest, the debut excitement grew strong; for the first time in awhile jiahn felt hopeful. to embrace this new side of her jiahn decided on a stage name that would embody her new outlook; bella, derived from the italian phrase la vita è bella, meaning life is beautiful. this wasn't just a stage name, it was a promise jiahn made to herself; to remember that life really is beautiful.
MEDIA PRESENCE jiahn was mentioned a few times in indie k-hiphop articles back in her tiger mob days, though the focus was mainly on the male members of the crew as they were perceived to be better than her. this bothered jiahn a bit, she knew things were going to be rocky as the only girl in the crew but she didn't anticipate her skills being dismissed as often as they were. in 2015 she was inspired to make a solo song with help from her boyfriend who produced it and filmed the music video, but every word in the verse was written by jiahn herself.
after posting it on the tiger mob youtube the channel the video went fairly viral in the k-hiphop community, a post in a hiphop-based forum linked the video and the reply threads were pretty vile. all anyone could focus on was that she was a young girl, barely any comments spoke about the quality of the song itself. jiahn spun it around in her mind that the song was so good that of course people couldn't leave a hate comment about it!
after joining prism, she may feature in a few pre-debut videos, especially after the line-up for rendezvous is decided. she could possibly join forces with one of the vocalists of the group to release a cover pre-debut to garner hype for their debut? (possibly one of these? one, two, or three)

at an award show, rendezvous were getting ready to preform and similarly the camera crew was getting ready to film; a fan in the audience got a video of jiahn smiling at one of the crew which nearly makes him drop the camera.

after acting in a few dramas, an article by naver calling into question the talents of idol actors becomes published and jiahn is mentioned along with other known idol actors. brand reputation drops a bit.
🏹 RENDEZVOUS' BELLA SUSPECTED OF BEING A FORMER UNDERGROUND RAPPER?
unfortunately despite jiahn not mentioning this anywhere, it was only bound to happen, someone connected the dots between the now defunct tiger mob's nyxie and rendezvous' bella. some fans are upset that this was kept a secret, more are upset when they look into tiger mob and see how some of the male member's wrote vulgar lyrics. this is something jiahn never really thought about much at the time, considering it par for the course in hiphop, but she of course understands the concerns and releases a statement with prism wherein she disavows those lyrics and apologizes for not being transparent. (was the last part really necessary? jiahn felt it was best to quell the flames.)
CAREER ASPIRATIONS all jiahn can really ask for is rendezvous becoming successful and winning many awards, being invited to all the popular variety shows and all the other benefits that come with being an idol. besides that there are a couple of other routes jiahn could venture towards for her own career.
of course cf deals are always nice so jiahn could do her part to bring more attention to her group, as well as acting in dramas- to be honest, it wasn't something she looked forward to but prism brought it up pre-debut when they were deciding on her as center. though they would never force her of course, siryeon & eunbi wanted her to think about it. jiahn decided to give it a shot not long after debut and found it to be quite fun, especially romance dramas as it felt like she was living out the scenarios she would read about in her webtoons. is she the best at it? no, jiah is definitely regarded as an idol that acts instead of an actor, but it's not her fault if the networks want to cast her.
around 2019-2022 she could make a youtube channel, aptly named la vita è bella where she would vlog her day, make song covers and other fun things. perhaps a solo career could be in her future? after being in rendezvous jiahn's style softened compared to the hard-hitting raps she used to make so this would be reflected in her new sound. a possible debut song for her if her singing improves is youha's ice t.

he would be the second lead if this was a drama, so basically;
practical, reliable, creative. simple. self-indulgent, lazy, stubborn.
LOVE STORY moon jiahn saw joo taehun around prism after she joined, thinking the guy was attractive despite his messy hair and dark and baggy clothes. guys were definitely not a priority for jiahn at this time, so she didn't do anything about it, not officially spending time with him until rendezvous is gearing to debut and getting their songs together. taehun is drawn to the girl right away- her beauty and the scintillating energy around her making it hard for him to look away. this was new to taehun; staff at prism joke that the guy is allergic to dating as he's not known to flirt with anyone. in actuality he's just a good guy and a bit of a hopeless romantic that doesn't flirt unless he's sure she's the one.
eventually the two start flirting when they run into each other, something that was just surface-level fun for jiahn as she can't deny how physically attractive he is to her, whereas taehun starts falling for her more and more. once jiahn feels comfortable around him and even considers him a friend, she gives her number to him so they can text, a move that was just friendly to jiahn but it made taehun's heart race. even though taehun is a homebody and prefers to spend his time not at work gaming, he'll put aside his self-indulgence to treat jiahn to walks in the park and food tasting adventures (mostly because jiahn asked and taehun is just another one that falls victim to her need of pampering).
taehun is pretty sure of himself and his feelings. a few months after rendezvous debuts, he decides to confess. jiahn is shocked; maybe she just wasn't seeing the signs, but she was sure it was just a friendship; besides the physical attraction she did not think of taehun in a romantic way. seeing her hesitance, of course taehun feels a little deflated but he's mature; he tells her there is absolutely no pressure at all, and would even back away if she wanted. taehun is self-indulgent with food, games and other material stuff but to him jiahn is not just a thing to desire; she's a person, an amazingly beautiful person that he would never force to do anything. he simply tells her he's always open to communicate before he backs away a bit to allow jiahn to think about the confession.
jiahn could easily picture herself with taehun; he's very sweet and the exact opposite of her ex. when she imagines herself dating him, it makes her face warm. it's definitely something that would be very easy for jiahn; but is that all it is, just a safe option for her? taehun is the type of guy that wants a committed relationship, whereas jiahn just started a career that would take a lot of her time, not only that but she had been enjoying her freedom from relationships the past two years. not to mention her feelings for joohyun, even if she's committed to keeping those to herself. she doesn't want to break his heart, but won't dating him without being sure of her own feelings break his heart all the same?
TRIVIA
🏹 the other girls let him in on the "mc princess" nickname and will use it in the studio when jiahn records her verse for a song, usually cheering her on to keep her spirits up as he knows just how long and tiring the recording process can be (he's caring like with all the girls when recording but of course with jiahn it's a bit more special).
🏹 when texting jiahn tends to spam him with emojis and memes when he has not answered, annoyed at the lack of response and wondering what he's up to where he can't reply right away. he's usually just gaming tho.

🏹 because he's reliable he loves being useful and doing acts of service for jiahn. quality time is also a big love language for him.
🏹 jiahn will often text him words of encouragement whenever he's feeling down or lazy yet has to get stuff done at work; if he has a late night in the studio he may just be surprised with his favorite spicy ramen as jiahn remembered him saying he loved it a few weeks earlier.
🏹 another reason jiahn hesitates with taehun is that this situation reminds her of her parents- the last thing she wants is for history to repeat itself.

COMMENTS ahh she's ready! i'm so happy i went in this direction because i was way more inspired with her than the other girls i was originally planning to apply with. i went with jiwon as a fc because i felt like she matches the vibe i had in mind, despite her not being the visual in her own group i figured she'd fit right into that position. but i did add miyeon as a backup just in case! (both are equally stunning)
i also decided to underline links as i didn't take into account how much i highlight both links and keywords the exact same, which is confusing. i also did this for noah's app as well! another update to his app (because i added it for jiahn so i felt like i should kjdf) is adding an extra section on their relationships; if you scroll all the way down on both of their apps you'll see a spot where i added relationships that i didn't think needed icons. jiahn's is all done, noah's dad will be added to his soon, especially if he ends up chosen! i didn't add him to jiahn's app either as tbh i just wanted to turn her in, but i can do so if both get chosen!
anyway, for the love interest- i'm sorry for being vague with tae's personality as i really just wanted to turn this in asdfg but i tried to express his personality in the love story. i actually didn't plan on jiahn having feelings for joohyun as first. it just kind happened when i started writing about them (they're so cute and soft ahh) taehun was planned from the start which is why he's still there- so needless to say, whatever direction you want to go with, i'll be happy. i honestly ship jiahn with both of them equally and cannot choose (tho i do think it would be funny if taehun really is the second drama lead lol) i can't wait to read your thoughts about my lil rap star <3
SCENE & CHARACTER SUGGESTIONS
🏹 if people give in to jiahn and spoil her more combined with her center position which gets her a lot of attention, jiahn could potentially grow into an unbearably spoiled brat. she could remain this way or be snapped out if by one of the girls, her managers, her dad- there are a whole circle of people who could keep jiahn grounded.
🏹 if you decide to go the spoiled brat route, a potential scandal of jiahn being rude on the set for a cf would be pretty spicy. 👀
🏹 jiahn had never produced as that was taken care of for her in her rap crew days, but she may want to give it a shot, especially because she has a talented producer in her life that would be willing to teach her.
🏹 similar to the above, jiahn wants to be able to write lyrics for whole songs and not just the rap verse. if she has the time she'd love to give it a shot for rendezvous discography.
