the mini album is noted to be nova's first crowdfunding campaign launched on january 18th, 2019 on makestar. the ten million won goal was reached in two weeks, mr. potter proving to be nova's first big hit. although mr. potter didn't recieve any music show wins, the girls was nominated on sbs mtv's the show and ended in third place.

chasing stars is the first album from south korean girl group nova. the album was released on November 17, 2020 by fantasia entertainment and distributed by cj e&m. it consists of title track "wee woo" which seemed to boost nova's popularity overseas, but still didn't chart high within the domestic market compared to "love bomb", and was actually heavily criticized for the title tracks "silly lines" considering it was the groups first full album after two years.

nova then cut promotions short for wee woo and moved on to promote "i wish". the music video for i wish was noticeably low budget compared to hi high as it was mainly green screen effects, despite the song doing better on the charts than the previous.

with popularity gained from "wee woo" nova continued their trend of finally impressing the public. La Vie En Rose was revealed to have been originally written for Cherry Day before their disbandment and finally given back to Nova. La Vie En Rose was also Nova's first win on SBS MTV's The Show.

Nova ended up using Star as a follow up track as a way to thank their fans for their support.

fans were divided on this release as some thought it was a "flop" after la vie en rose while others liked it due to it sticking to nova's roots. however, there was one thing everyone could agree on and it was the question of what is fantasia spending nova's revenue on? most certainly not mv quality.
