“LEE SUNGMIN!”

Sungmin jumps upon hearing her father’s angry voice. She stops packing her things and stares at the door. She found her father standing at the doorway with her mother; they are both frowning hard at her.

“Are you really testing my patience huh young lady?”

Hongki asks his daughter angrily. He quickly went inside Sungmin’s room with his wife. They both shoot Sungmin a deadly glare.

“Where do you think you’re going?”

Lizzy asks her daughter angrily. Sungmin rolls her eyes.

“Mom…dad…”

Sungmin sighs.

“I really don’t want to go in Boston”

Sungmin told her parents, talking to them in a calm way because she’s already tired of throwing arguments against her parents who doesn’t even listen her.

“You will go in Boston whether you like it or not. You will study in Harvard Business School and become a good CEO just like your father and your brother! We already talk about this, right?”

Lizzy asks her daughter, still frowning at her. Sungmin nods sadly.

“Then what’s wrong with you? Why are you being a hard headed girl again?”

Lizzy asks her daughter. Sungmin sighs sadly and stares at her parents with teary eyes.

“Mom. Dad. How many times do I need to tell you that I don’t want to be a CEO? I want to be a good newscaster. I don’t see myself being a President of a company. Why can’t you understand me? I have a dream and that is to become a good newscaster and not a CEO like Oppa and dad”

Sungmin told her parents, controlling her tears from falling. She really hates it whenever her parents will force her to do something that she doesn’t want. Sungmin’s dream is to become a good newscaster and not a CEO. But her parents want her to study business and become a CEO like them, so she and her older brother can handle all their companies.

“Your dad and I already give you the chance to fulfill your dream. We let you study Journalism, so what else do you still want? We give you everything that you want. Why are you being a rebellious daughter?”

Lizzy asks, feeling disappointed towards Sungmin. She and Hongki really think that Sungmin is such a disappointment because she’s such a very hard headed girl. They think that Sungmin never listen to them—Sungmin grabs a boyfriend whom her parents don’t want for her. Hongki and Lizzy are against Sungmin’s boyfriend because they want her to end up marrying their good friend’s son who is also a good CEO. Sungmin insist that she will study Journalism because she wants to fulfill her dream of becoming a good newscaster even though it’s against her parents’ will because they want her to become a CEO. Hongki and Lizzy think that Sungmin is the black sheep in the family because she always disobeys them and she never listen to them. Sungmin always does what she wants even though it’s against her parents’ will. She is not like her older brother who always listens to their parents.

“Everything?”

Sungmin asks, controlling her tears from falling. She shook her head.

“You never give me everything. You always want me to follow what you want and I’m already sick and tired of it. You just give me a very luxurious life and I never experience hardship because I was born rich. But aside from that, what else did you give me?”

Sungmin asks.

“You want to send me in Boston for me to study at Harvard Business School to become a CEO. You both know that I hate to become a CEO, but you keep on insisting. You didn’t pay my tuition fee for the next semester and you force me to drop school and to stop studying Journalism. You hate my boyfriend because you want Heechul Oppa to become my husband. You never care about my happiness”

Sungmin told her parents.

“Heechul is the right man for you”

Lizzy told her daughter. Sungmin shook her head.

“No! Heechul Oppa and I are best of friends and you both know that! We don’t love each other ok! Why do you always need to force me to do what you want from me and not what I want for myself?”

Sungmin asks.

“Do you really think that being a newscaster will bring you good?”

Hongki asks his daughter. Sungmin didn’t answer. She just stares at her father who is giving her an angry glare.

“Why don’t you answer me Lee Sungmin? Not all newscasters are successful with their lives. What are you going to do with news casting? Report about the weather and some stupid news? Is that what you want? Is being with your actor boyfriend will make you happy? Do you think his fame will be forever? He can’t even introduce you to the public as his girlfriend! Is that what kind of life you want?”

Hongki asks his daughter.

“Your mom and I raise you and your brother without even experiencing any hardship in life and that’s why we want to secure your future because we don’t want you and your brother to suffer in life. Why don’t you listen to us? Why do you always need to oppose us?”

Hongki asks.

“I’m sorry dad! I’m not Oppa who will always listen to you!”

Sungmin told her father angrily.

“You and mom can never stop me from fulfilling my dreams. Nobody can stop me”

Sungmin told her father. Hongki nods his head.

“Fine”

Hongki stares at Sungmin seriously.

“You want to prove something then do it and let’s see what will happen”

Hongki told his daughter. Sungmin nods her head.

“I can prove you and mom and even oppa that I can fulfill my own dreams without asking your help or support. I can be a good newscaster. Just wait and see. You and mom will eat your words. Don’t ever underestimate me because I can do everything to chase my dream”

Sungmin told her parents, challenging them.

“And what are you going to do young lady? How are you going to live without any financial support from us?”

Hongki asks his daughter. Sungmin thinks for the meantime. She actually doesn’t know where on earth she will get money to pay for her school and buy herself a food and a house to live in.

“Why don’t you answer me?”

Hongki asks, mocking his own daughter because he knows that Sungmin can never live without them. Sungmin shook her head.

“I still don’t know dad. But I will find solution for it. I will prove all of you that I can live with my own. I will do it without your help and support”

Sungmin told her father. Hongki nods her head.

“Well then, if that’s what you want then you’re free to go now. Leave my house and don’t ever show your face in front of us again. Don’t ever go back here crying and telling us that you already regret being a hard headed girl and that you can no longer survive without us. Show yourself in front of me again when you finally prove something and when you finally fulfill your so-called dream”

Hongki told his daughter. Lizzy stares at her husband. She can’t believe that Hongki will allow their daughter to leave.

“Honey…”

Lizzy holds her husband’s hand, but Hongki ignores her. Sungmin nods her head. She closes her luggage and grabs some of her things and puts it inside her handbag. She stares at her parents for the meantime. She bows at them before leaving her room—running away from her home.

“Honey, why did you do that?”

Lizzy asks her husband, feeling worry about their daughter.

“You can’t just let her leave and run away like that. We need to chase her. What if our daughter—“

“She chooses it that way honey. Let it be. Sometimes, we also need to teach that hard headed girl a lesson that she will never forget. Let’s see how far she can go”

Hongki told his wife.

“But honey…”

Hongki holds his wife’s beautiful face between his hands.

“Shhh...don’t worry about her. I’m sure that she will end up going at Heechul’s place. He’s the only person that she can ask for help, so don’t worry ok. Our daughter can never survive without us. I’m sure that she will go home soon once she realizes her mistake and once she already have a hard time because she doesn’t have money to spend”

Hongki told his wife who just shook her head sadly, feeling worried about Sungmin.
