Concern

I've been thinking about this for a while.
What are kids really doing here?

I mean...kids should be outside, play games, have fun...
Not entering sites, reading fanfictions....
How can some 11-year-old kid write Rated M fanfictions?
(because I've seen it..and not only that but I've seen 8-year-old kis write those stuff)

Is that right? No, right? It's becoming bigger concern for me with the time. While I was at that age I was still playing with dolls, riding bike, running outside with my friends. And what's with the kids wanting to grow up faster these days...

Later they'll want to get back to those times I'm sure...
They're looking at the others....But when I started writing I was already 16...and even then my fanfictions weren't what they're now...
Back then I was still writing innocent things...Now I'm almost 19...So why are kids trying to look older when they're not?

Ugh it's so unpleasent. Reading such things from kids...Even making me angry at some point.
As much as I love this place. Someday when I have kids I'll make sure that they won't even know what fanfiction is until they become at least 14-15...
And then it makes me wonder why so many impossible things happen in fanfictions....Now I know the answer...

What are your thought about this? I don't think aff is a place for kids....No one gets bothered by that "I'm not 18" or however it was....

I agree with you because in my opinion kids shouldn't be reading these kind of stuff... Ok, I agree that - Yes - reading and writing is creative, but there are more interesting stories and kids-proper stories they can read and write... They can use their imagination for other creative stuff too. That's not the only way... Besides everybody knows that soon or later there is absolutely no way for a kid that reads stories here, even it read the normal one, not to accidentally or on purpose to cross ways with Ratem M stories... And I think for little kids to read them is wrong...
About the parents though... I honestly don't know what to say... Maybe they are somehow at fault... Maybe they are not... We can never tell... But please don't judge because you agree with kids being in here and reading those stories and because people like me think it's wrong...
Everybody should have their own opinion about things that had happen, are happening and will happen in future...

I think it's fine for eight/eleven year old kids to be on
there isn't only rated stories on here and this is a site that's for people for the love of reading, writing, kpop music, etc so who cares of age if you dislike it stop reading or leave
it wouldn't be fair for just people your age or older to be able to join this site because not just your age group is into what you are
No I don't agree with eight year olds reading M stories but at least thier not out actually having
Anyway everything is pretty irrelevant since there is no way yonger people will stop joining and there is no way anyone could stop them
And if kids should be out playing
people older should be out working
If anything I think this is more of a sight for teens but that's my opinion

Well regardless of age every person should be getting out more and moving, we have become so dependent on technology it's scary and quite pathetic. I see babies and kids these days with iphones and ipads, they aren't even learning or interacting with the world around them. Their lives revolve around a screen. As for the age issue here with m-rated content, I try not to judge them. And even though I agree they shouldn't be reading naughty stuff I think they could be doing many worse things. At least writing/reading is creative and a good hobby in itself.

Yeah I agree with you till some point but you won't know why some start at an early age...curiosity or what so ever but the age limit should be here...I'm 16/17 and still when I read rated M I feel awkward. Wells sometimes yeah but I feel that children of age 8-11 shouldn't read them...I mean we also have normal fanfics why go for the M rated ones?
Fanfics are something that helps me the most during the worst of times but fanfics are not only about "M" rated things but also for the fandoms...and I don't know why people only think that...
I also agree with the line that children should be out playing...but I was never allowed to go out and play as a kid bcoz of so many crimes in my city/country etc. Even for a minute I wasn't in the house my parents would worry like anything. Apart from school, I was more of locked in or grounded at my place and it was so boring that I can't even explain and now I think why wasn't I a kpop fan back then? I should have been..it so fun being like that...

I cant agree with u enough lexie!! Like srsly.. Its not that kids are all depressed and stuff that they come online and write rated-m fics.. Kids are actually sacrificing their playtime with friends to be online.. I have seen it happen.. We feel that our kids would be so smart that if they start using a tablet and everything!! I know its good that our kids are becoming smart but in what way.. A fuking 8 yr old knows how to clear the history so just imagine what's happening.. I agree parents are at fault too a little for providing them with too much but they are not the only fault.. They don't want the kid to be left out and feel like an outsider so they give them freedom and the kids misuse it.. And if they don't give the freedom then the parents are being too strict!! Man I dunno what to say really.. It saddens me that kids aren't innocent anymore.. Call it mainstream or whatever but I cant watch kids ruining their childhood like this :( whoever reads this can hate me now but later when u grow old and u look back u will know.. Growing is not so much fun as all these ppl think.. Man im feeling so many things right now I can't express anything properly I sorry.. Totally agree with everything you said. Like kids should enjoy being a kid withthe little time they have, as cheesy as it sounds. An eight yr old writing or reading m rated fics is disturbing to me. I personally think someone should be 13 at least to write or read that stuff. Idk just my thoughts but youre definitely not alone with that thought. I can tell you that :-)
