Craft #5: Amralime bracelet plus chibi charms (and some serious talk, haha)

Oh my goodness. It's Sunday evening already. Where did all my free time go?

It went to these:

Yep, one cannot have too many Kili and Tauriel :3 It's a necessity. Once again, they are patterned from ladycibia's chibis :D

and this:

It's called a mystery braid bracelet. I followed this tutorial

I spent more time making the horizontal slits than the braiding itself. Used up more than half of my brown foam >_< Braiding is fun, until you lose track where you should insert the bottom part. Haha.

And the Khuzdul characters... gah... I need more practice cutting. It spells Amralime, which means "my love" (just interchange the third and fourth characters) Still undecided whether to just stick them on the bracelet or use jumprings (which I don't have at the moment >_<); or do them again >_< that's why it's still a work-in-progress.

I think it's pretty obvious by now that I love, love, working with my hands, creating things... without spending too much, of course.

And when I get started on something, there's no stopping until a week has passed. Now, if the urge to create, is still there after a week, I'm afraid I would never escape from it. Just like reading Kiliel fics, or writing, for that matter. (I still don't feel that urgency to write, hahaha)

I hope you had fun during the weekend, doing things you love ^-^ And that you still enjoy it here. I've read unsatisfied and unhappy posts in AFFConfessions and I do hope that that's not the case with the rest of us here.

Writing or updating can only be stressful or depressing, when you are forcing yourself to do it. Make sure that you enjoy the process. That you are having fun writing. It's supposed to be our hobby.  That whether you post it here or not, you are still happy. Because people can and will ruin it for you - whether they copy your story, leave harsh criticisms or say nothing at all. Regardless of the outcome, make sure you do it for yourself.

Don't be too hard on yourself either. You don't have to update or finish that story if you lost it. Even published authors have a stack of unfinished manuscripts. You can take a step back and give yourself the gift of a blank page (ehem...nanowrimo taught me this) and maybe, just maybe, you'd find what was lost and finish your other stories. Oh sure, readers would be annoyed ("Don't start a fic if you are not going to finish it!" or "Are you not going to update this?") Eh, don't mind them. You are not paid to write for anyone. Writing/updating fanfics is a free service. We don't get anything in return - except for the satisfaction of having written something, having accomplished something, even if it's just another chapter with 1500 words or less. Subs, comments, upvotes, views... they meant something to me a long time ago, because I measured my value, my story's value based on those criteria... and boy did I get frustrated with the lack of comments thinking that I've done something horribly wrong to be ignored haha. I've been here for a little more than four years, done almost everything from writing to coding. True satisfaction comes from doing what you love and enjoy.

Life is too short. Make it an enjoyable one.
