Craft #1: mini book origami charm (+++ confessions)

We celebrated the birthday of one of my unnies. Her treat.  And my gift for her is a mini origami book (see tutorial). Made that pretty quick in the morning :3 I even attached one of the quilled teardrop shapes that turned out decent, wehehe.

We wrote our messages inside :D

(I used elmer's glue + water mixture to "fix" the teardrop bead. I'll definitely find and buy a paper glaze. All I have is a glaze for clay and I am hoping that the glaze would still work after all these years >_<)

But the drawback is that the mini book is not waterproof >_< Anyway, she liked it, said it was cute. Pink is her favorite color, after all. I pay attention.

So, to add to my goals this year, this Keeper would make gifts for her unnies, ahjummas and one oppa. (One in June, one in August, four in October, one in November and three in December. Ten more handcrafted gifts all in all. Oh I have a sister and she'll celebrate on April. Hmmm... I planned to make her a set of accessories made of paper beads. We'll see...)

Bad news is that my sculpey is now old and crumbley, even though I haven't used any of it! >_< But I found tips/tutorials on how to make it usable. Hope the hammer + mineral oil technique work. I'll make my own version of Kili's runestone/moon rune and other polymer clay charms in my long-forgotten-but-still-existing list :D It was rather disheartening this morning when I saw how hard they were >_<

Since the polymer clay project is facing a major obstacle and the next birthday is still on April, I can now fix a fairly regular schedule - which includes writing and drawing and shipping. (Shipping has taken over my life, my time. Gosh. I'm restless. This is so unhealthy.)

And despite everything, I still find time to read AFF Confessions that appear in my dash.

Just a few clarifications:

1. Even though AFF is a free site, running and maintaining it isn't. That's were the ads come in. Just use AdBlocker and stop complaining.

2. Again, AFF is a free site. We are not required to pay a monthly fee for a membership. Unlike our web host and our servers. This is the reason why we don't host images on the site. We don't have that much space to store images and the money to increase alotted bandwidth. Only God knows how many gifs we use in just one post.
3. I repeat, AFF is a free site. We don't pay monthly or annual dues. So stop acting as if the site owes you anything. If you are unsatisfied, leave. Every feature in the site is available for every member. No hating on anyone who decides to use them, just because you have a different opinion. No hating on the creator either. No hating on the feature, it's neutral. Subscribe, if you like it, unsubscribe if you don't. Or don't click on any subscribe-only fics. End of story. And if you set your story to sub-only, expect that there would be unsubbers -_-

4. Sigh. Comment, don't comment. Subscribe, unsubscribe. Wrie a story, update, or go on hiatus. Do whatever you want (but don't ignore our ToU). My head hurts seeing those confessions about fics. I made one too >.> Seriously, use the trigger warning, or if it's just there to arouse and have no significance in the plot whatsoever, don't write it. Not only because there are minors, or that it might be triggering, we actually have rules to follow to keep the site running. So if you can't abide by them, leave.

5. I repeat, this is a free site. And our mods are volunteers - unpaid workers. They are human and are not perfect but they have passed the moderator qualification test. They are so few, and we are so many. Sometimes, they make judgement calls that don't sit well with us. There are times that I have to clarify things because the ToU and AFFHelper blog says one thing, and yet the response is another.

My advice is to drop by AFFHelper's wall, and articulate your confusion in a civil manner. And the team will go and ask a mod for you, because Boss Nichi and the mods are still planning on how to make a replacement for the "support" page. And when reporting, be detailed. Provide links. Copy-paste segments from the ToU or AFFHelper's blog. Don't just say: "This fic has ia." Point to the chapter, copy-paste lines. Give proof. Build your case. So that it would be easier for the moderator. Yes they would review the fic, but come on, what if it has 100 chapters? Let's help each other, okay?

I just realized that my profile is still locked to friends-only because of that incident with my sister. Gah. I don't care anymore. AHAH!

That's so adorable, you can attach it to you bag and read it whenever you want :')
You should make a tutorial blog on how you made it K.

Gurl, your handmade gift looks like something out of tumblr (Idk if it's just me being weird or what but the thing that pops into my mind when I saw the picture was "tumblr!"). Anyways I am touched by clarifications #5 lol :'
