⇒Shy; She is shy only around strangers. When she is around people who she don't know, she is really quiet and don't talk to much.

Kim Seo Yeon or Jīn Quiang, was born in Beijing, China. She is the second daugther of Kim Dae Hyun (father) and Wang Hua-Ling (mother), her father is a business man and her mother is a lawyer. She live in China with her parents and big sister (Jang Seul Gi) until she was fourteen years old and her sister was seventeen, because her family move to Korea for her father job and family.

In the time that Seo Yeon was fourteen her family move to Seul, Korea and she start to go to a mixted school with her sister. In the first years of her Korean life, she wasn't a smart student because she have problem with the language,when she learn the language she never was a very inteligent student, always had normal notes, never classified as a genius student or one with low notes.

When she was in high school she started to get interested in music, which make her try to audition for JYP Entertaiment, audition that she can't pass because she wasn't so good in that time. After a couple of years (2 and half years) she tried again but this time in Cube Entertaiment, this time she passed the audition, beacuse after she being rejected in JYP Ent., she started to take singing classes.

They meet each other because a Korean friend intruced them. When she was 17 years old and Xiumin 19, a friend of they introduced them when they were out with friends. Then the two become really good friends but they can't go out to much because Xiumin was a trainer in SM, so he was to busy, but they were always send texts to each other.

Because they can't see each other to much, they always interact with texts, sometimes they have the chance to go and have fun but that were 1 in 1.000.000, when they interact with each others they are always happy and cheerful. With the pass of the months, she start to have a little crush on her friend because to her, he was just too prefect, he was always happy and cheerful to her and to her his face has just to cute.
