as a person with glasses...

I love my drinking water cold, so I drop four ice cubes into my water bottle every time I refill it.

So it's night time and I'm in the kitchen refilling my water bottle, and I don't have my glasses on because I'm just about to shower anyway. I put three in, and as I was dropping the fourth one in, it ricochets off the lip of my bottle and onto the floor.

PANIC ALERT.

Now at 1 AM at night, this was probably the most devastating and "OH MY GOD" situation of my entire life. So I, without glasses and blurry vision, cannot see the damn ice cube and drop to my knees on the floor, my face literally two centimeters from the ground. My hands are patting all around me, I'm squinting trying my hardest to see, and after about a minute, I give into panic and run to the living room.

I shout for help for my sister (bffimagine) to come and help me before the ice cube melts.

Me: Sabrina! I dropped an ice cube in the kitchen but I don't have my glasses on so I can't see it!

(She doesn't understand why I'm so panicked)

Me: What if it melts? It'll make a puddle on the floor! You have to help me!

(This was genuinely a life crisis. If I wanted I could've just left the ice cube on the floor, I mean, it's just frozen water. But I really didn't want a puddle of water on the floor. What if someone with socks stepped in it??)

So she gets up, and follows me to the kitchen, and then immediately starts laughing. She strides to the middle of the kitchen and picks up the ice cube and throws it in the sink. Her description of the ice cube is:

"A giant freaking ice cube that could've sunk the Titanic."

But I honestly couldn't see it. Nope. Not even with my face so close to the floor.

And that is the story of how Tiffany functions without glasses.

Gosh!! I totally understand you!! I can barely function without my glasses or contact lens. The thing that also irks me the most is when people ask me to put off my glasses and literally shove their fingers in front of my face , demanding to know what number they're making. So insensitive are they that sometimes they even have the audacity to ask me whether I can still see anything at all without my glasses. I mean of course, only it's blurrier. Meh, my feels. What to do I guess, they just don't understand. Are you contemplating on laser surgery?
