APPEARANCE » "My hair is awesome... when it wants to be." Joo-Eun's hair is naturally black, but she likes dyeing it from time to time. Her hair is naturally straight and she likes to keep it that way (unless the hairdresser objects). Usually during practice or when she's at the airport she likes to tie it in a messy bun but other than that it's let loose. Her hair strangely has a mind of its own, sometimes looking good and sometimes looking like a birdnest.
"I want to be on a skin cleanser commercial." She doesn't seem like it, but she takes care of her skin very well. Her skin is usually zit and oily-free (except during periods which irritates her more than she already is) and she has a scar on her left knee (which she got from falling when she was running away from her teachers when she was a teenager); she usually covers the scar with make-up. She has plump pink lips that she usually covers with dark lipstick and her skin is a shade lighter than her brother's.
"There's nothing else special, i'm a normal girl. Well I look like it." She has a helix piercing on her left ear and normal piercings on both ears. She has a peter pan tattoo behind her left ear, a small tattoo on her wrist and a tattoo on her collarbone. She stands at 164 cm and weighs 54 kg (which she thinks is quite heavy so she's on a diet). Her eyes are the normal korean colour, dark brown and her teeth are straight and white (before her debut she whitened her teeth).
STYLE » "If we were to have a hip hop concept, Joo-Eun would fit it best." Because she's used to the underground scene, Joo-Eun's taste in clothing is heavily influenced by hip-hop and punk. Most of her clothes are dark coloured (but there are some bright colours) and she loves wearing beanies and snapbacks. She also likes wearing rings and changes her piercings from time to time. Her favourite type of shoes are converses or supras but wears high heels and boots as well.

PERSONALITY » "We're friends from now on." Joo-Eun stamps a 'you're Joo-Eun's friend now' sign on every person's forehead she meets (not literally). She's loud and loves making friends, being extremely friendly since she was a child. She also talks a lot and won't care if you're not listening to her while she keeps babbling to you about unimportant things. She also likes to communicate with her fans (Cookies and Red Ravens alike) and Jongin's fans who adore her (because they adore him). "I don't take orders from anyone!" Unfortunately Joo-Eun's extremely hard to control. She's been this way since she was a baby and only people with outstanding leadership skills can control her. But even though she's that stubborn, you can always bribe her with one thing she loves most; cookies (especially with nuts in them) and she'll obey you like a dog.
"Be more careful you idiot." Joo-Eun hates showing it but she's one of the most caring people you'll ever meet. She's the one who'll be worrying if you're okay or if you're in a bad mood. She'll be the first one to take care of you if you're sick and she'll go as far as cook for you when she's worried about you (and that's a no no cause she's terrible at cooking). "I feel like exploding." She's impatient. Simple as that. Joo-Eun gets irritated easily, especially when she's on her period. She throws tantrums when she's extremely mad and throws things (usually her phone). Because of this, she buys a new phone every 3 months. Even though her tantrums don't last long very long, they're always happening. A way to calm her down is with warm milk.
"Do ghosts even exist?" Being brave was apart of Joo-Eun's personality the minute she decided to cause pranks. In a good way, she's brave enough to stick up for her friends. She's never seen a ghost before and doesn't believe in them. She's the one the members hide behind when entering a haunted house or scary place. Her bravery caused her to do very crazy things (like trying out underground rapping for example). "I'm so going to make her mad." her antics cause people headaches and her pranks get people laughing or screaming. Pranking people is in her blood and she likes doing things people don't expect. In the company, she's the one causing ruckus everywhere in her path and she's definitely hard to stop.
"A little creativity and a little smartness can get you anywhere." Since she became a rapper, people had liked her raps because of the lyrics. Joo-Eun likes using idioms and complex words for her lyrics and some of the lyrics have hidden meanings behind them. If one were to ask who's the most creative member, it would most probably be Joo-Eun because not only does she write lyrics, but she's also good at drawing doodles and cartoons. (and making up excuses). "But I don't want to do it." Like a child, Joo-Eun will whine if ordered to do a task. If it's not rapping or drawing or anything she likes she would definitely decline any task given to her. She's the one who usually gets up last or finishes first because she's unwilling to curl her hair or put on make-up. Despite her laziness and distate towards sports, she's a fast runner because of her running from prank scenes she'd caused.

Her older brother Jongin shared her love in dancing and sometimes helped her get out of trouble.
When she turned 16, Joo-Eun started getting more interested with underground hip-hop one of her friends had introduced to her. Joo-Eun started using her creative words to rap and became a part of an undergroup hip-hop group called 'AphroditeZ' under the stage name Ratu. After discovering rap, she grew accustomed to it and rapped during weekends and sometimes even participated in competitions. Rapping had practically become part of her life and she even learned basic english to put in her raps. A few months after her 17th birthday, Joo-Eun went to audition for SM Entertainment, wanting to be in the same agency as her brother Jongin who was already a trainee under the label but unfortunately didn't pass because the judges had stated she was 'unfit' and 'not SM's style'.
Joo-Eun didn't cry because of her failure that night, but threw a tantrum and flipped everything over in her room. Her parents had consoled her, and Jongin held her hand and said soothing things to her until she fell asleep. A week after, Joo-Eun participated in a freestyle rapping competition and spit out words about how it's not fair people get casted for looks and not talent and stated how 'people with no talent get out of my way, because the real talent is approaching you today'. Her expressive rap and angry & truthful tone earned her 1st place. While she was being congratulated, a man suddenly came up to her and offered her a chance to be a trainee at a new label called 'Big Hit'. Joo-Eun smiled and accepted the offer gratefully.
TRAINING » Training was not what Joo-Eun had expected. While she thought herself to be the best dancer and best rapper, she found out several trainees were better at her in dancing but fortunately for her she became one of the best rappers in the company. Instead of polishing her rapping and dancing skills, she had to practice singing and that was a big no for her because she couldn't sing at all. Most trainees at Big Hit had despised her because of her pranks and troublesome personality but few of them liked her.

Joo-Eun finally thought her life would start when she got chosen to enter Big Hit's first girl group GLAM but her hopes came crashing down when she suffered a severe neck injury while practicing and wasn't able to dance or rap. Joo-Eun left Big Hit and stayed hospitilized for 2 months, her parents and Jongin and some of her friends visitng her from time to time. After getting out of the hospital, Joo-Eun practiced her rusty dancing skills and started creating mixtapes to polish her rapping and composing skills.
On her 18th birthday (which only consisted of her and her parents at a fancy restaurant), her parents surprised her with wonderful news. Joo-Eun's parents, being the supportive type of parents, had sent her dance cover videos and mixtapes to JYP Entertainment while she was hospitilized. She was accepted as a trainee and was to attend practices the following week.
Training at JYP was even more difficult because there were many talented people. Joo-Eun's personality didn't change even after her injury and she still caused ruckus around the building. Joo-Eun learned to play the guitar while being a trainee even learned popping and some b-boying. In the end Joo-Eun found out she would be debuting in a group called 'Stars' under the stage name Jojo and would be the main rapper.
