〈 three differences 〉 — the jocks ; hinamori, saku 。
saku hinamori。
lili ♡ mondegreen ♡ 4 out of 5
NAME ♡ hinamori, saku NICKNAMES ♡ — yokohama koukou no okaasan / around the school, saku is known as yokohama's resident mother. she's a very overbearing and overly insquitive person, and questions her friends like a mother questioning their children, hence the nickname yokohama koukou no okaasan. honestly speaking, saku doesn't really mind the nickname, in fact, she thinks it's flattering. but then again, she doesn't know that her friends actually hate her mother bear side, so maybe, it's not a good idea to trust saku's judgment when it comes to this.
AGE ♡ 17— mrs. chucky / had an obsession with the chucky movies when she was a kid, and to her parents' horror, she put up chucky posters everywhere in her room back in london. her old friends called her mrs. chucky, and after finding out about this nickname, her older brother started calling her mrs. chucky as well. — short spitfire / definitely not her favourite nickname, but after proving that she could play better than most of the other girls in the volleyball team despite most of them being bigger than her, and her scary temper whenever she loses, she's gotten the nickname short spitfire, although most people call her this behind her back. ("careful, you don't want to make the short spitfire angry!") and no one, not even her best friend, really bothers to tell her about this nickname, mostly because saku would be the 'short spitfire' if she heard about the nickname. BIRTHDAY ♡ february 15 BIRTH PLACE ♡ london, england HOMETOWN ♡ london, england [ 1-12 ] & yokohama, japan [ 12 - present ] ETHNICITY ♡ japanese LANGUAGES ♡ — japanese / fluent / although she grew up out of the country, saku's family were proud of their nationality, therefore also teaching her japanese while teaching her english. it was a tough childhood for saku ; she had to learn how to speak both japanese and english fluently, though in the end she mastered it when she was eight, a few years after she mastered speaking english.
— english / advanced / a few years before she was born, her family moved to england for her father's job, and saku was born while they were still living in london. she was taught how to speak english in order to blend in, and though she was also told to learn japanese, her main focus was english. she was able to speak it on an advanced level when she was six. ♡ don't let them underestimate you. if they do, prove them wrong. ♡

FACE CLAIM ♡ shana (shakugan no shana)
BACK UP FACE CLAIM ♡ hajime ichinose (gatchaman crowds) APPEARANCE ♡ GIRL LOOK AT THAT BODY as an athlete, saku works out regularly. every morning she does twenty crunches and thirty push ups, as well as fifteen additional sit ups, and as she's a female soccer player, there's bound to be a lot of running in the afternoon during school time. she has a naturally lean figure, though her hard work as an athlete also gives her some abs and muscles, not that she ever shows it with the way she dresses.
WOW, WHAT hair products do you use sadly, saku's hair is ordinary. she has an ordinary hair colour because she's afraid of runing her hair if she dyes it, and it's the traditional long-haired haircut. however, she keeps very good care of her hair and washes it every day, in order to make not-so-pale in comparison of the colourful hair's around the school. she only ever wears her hair down, and the only time she keeps it in a ponytail is for sports purposes. baby i was born this way confession hour, saku's short (well, to put it bluntly). she's below the average height of her classmates, and she's the shortest member of the soccer team, but she doesn't really mind. she thinks being short is a privilege, because short people can be tall but tall people can't be short. her eyes are like staring at my soul saku's big, doe hazel eyes are the reason why most people tend to underestimate her (aside her height). she's rarely taken seriously by new people, as they often judge her as a timid person, because of her eyes and her small figure. saku's had to deal with this ever since her first day of elementary school in london, though the fact that people underestimate her just drives her to work harder to prove everyone wrong. STYLE ♡ pink. everything saku wears, must include pink. it's not even optional anymore, it's a must. during school days, she always wears pink shoes and if she ties her hair in a ponytail, she always uses a pink rubber band. everything in her stationary is pink, and it goes without saying that yes, her room is decorated in pink too. her wardrobe's also filled with pink; pink dresses, pink skirts, pink tank tops, pink jackets. basically, it's pink overload. a lot of her fellow jocks don't exactly get her, because she's one of the most vicious athlete's when it comes to competing, but has a soft spot for the colour pink, to which she responds, "who cares? pink is a manly colour." she's also super depressed because she doesn't have the bravery to dye her hair pink. ugh, why. |
the high school you。
PERSONALITY ♡
— competitive, athletic, confident, arrogant, overachieving, overbearing.
I don't want to win i just want to destroy everyone else now, saku wouldn't really consider herself as a competitive person. she's relaxed when it comes to competitions . . . okay, joke. saku is one of the most competitive people you'll ever have the pleasure of meeting, and all she has on her mind is winwinwinwinwin. whenever saku loses, she always throws a tantrum. saku thinks of herself as the best of the best in what she does best (oops, too many best's) : volleyball. saku is the self-proclaimed best volleyball player in the whole kanto region, and she always makes sure she'll be in the main, starting team for every volleyball game that'll be entered by their school. in order to win, saku will do anything, legal or not. okay, maybe she'll be a bit more hesitant when it's something illegal, but if it's absolutely necessary to make sure she wins, then saku'll do it with little hesitation. she loves the feeling of winning, and she absolutely hates it when she loses in something ; academically, or even something as trivial as the race to the remote control at home.
don't take it personally, but i'm probably better than you aside from being a competitive you shouldn't expect so much in life saku is also very overachieving. she hopes to be the best of the best, and although there's still a chance for that to happen sports-wise, she can't exactly expect to achieve too much when it comes to her weak points (performing arts, and drawing. and painting) but she does anyway, except maybe when it comes to singing. she knows she at it, she almost burst someone's eardrums while trying to sing opera. and although saku isn't exactly bad academically, she's not the top of the class either. she's always somewhere in the top ten, though she's never in the top five. however, saku still expects herself to win every single academics competition she enters and as a backup plan, she wants to be a professor at a good college in japan, not really caring if it's honestly rather impossible, as she's already too focused on sports. god damn it saku, you're not my mom! an overbearing mother. that is saku when it comes to her friends. she always acts like a mother to them, fussing over the smallest details, and asking them the most unimportant questions that are, usually, a little too personal to be asked (honestly, who asks their friends details of their first kiss? |
the high school life。
PAST ♡
london isn't as depressing as the movies make it before we start talking about saku's first year of high school, first, we have to understand that she just moved back to japan a few years ago, after living in london for most of her life. her father used to have a spot as the vice president of a sports company centered in england and also used to be a volleyball athlete himself, also driving her to become a volleyball player. after more than ten years of working as a ceo in london, he stepped down and the whole family moved to his hometown, yokohama.
PRESENT ♡
high school? ugh, what a drag naturally, after finishing her education in yokohama middle school, she continued her education in yokohama high school. when she first stepped inside the school halls, she was a little shocked, because everything seemed to be similar to middle school. there were still cliques, of course, and there didn't really seem to be too much bullying around, contrary to what's shown by american television series. not too many people bothered to look her way during her first day, though most of those who did, never believed her when she said she was good at sports, too blinded by her small frame and cute appearance. saku was determined to prove them wrong, and immediately signed up for the volleyball club to prove her abilities. saku was placed in class 1-A, and there, she met her best friend hiyagi shūhei, a nerd that she befriended after helping him during p.e. the first year of high school was exciting enough for her - she got in the school's volleyball team and before the start of the new year was already considered as a jock, made a lot of friends, and her saku was considered to be one of the 'popular girls', simply because of the fact she befriended everyone despite their "group" (honestly, she feared her mother's cooking more than she was scared of the feared) she absolutely hated the stereotype that jocks were all bullies and only wanted to be friends with the other popular people, and wanted to create a new name for the jocks at school. saku tries to get extra close to those she sees as a threat to her dream of being captain of the volleyball team, because as the saying goes, keep your friends close and your enemies closer. welcome to class 2-b so far, saku's second year in high school is going by smoothly. although saku's sad over the fact she's not in the same class as shūhei, she's been able to make new friends in class and she doesn't really feel lonely with 2-B. saku is still a part of the jocks, although this year, her influence in the group has grown significantly stronger as she isn't the 'newbie' or freshman of the group anymore. saku is also working much harder for the volleyball club activities in order to get chosen as the next captain after the third years graduate. honestly, nothing has changed from first year to second year, besides a new class and some new friends. saku still considers herself as the same, old, pink-loving saku.
TRIVIA ♡ |
the high school friends and blood。
FAMILY ♡
— father / hinamori, iruka (ruka tou-san) / 48 / strict, hardworking, short-tempered, closed off, workaholic
saku has never been very close with her father, iruka. in fact, even after his retirement, saku rarely sees her father as he rarely comes home, choosing to spend his nights in his old office, reminiscing and redoing all the work that he'd originally done over ten years ago. — mother / hinamori, yoshina (shina kaa-san) / 45 / gentle, caring, weak-willed, sensitive, intelligent the exact opposite of iruka, yoshina is a mother who cares very much for her children, choosing to quit her job after having her first child in order to focus more on her family. she's a very gentle person and never has the heart to yell at her children if they've done something wrong, instead choosing to let iruka do all the yelling. before quitting her job, yoshina was a surgeon, and she was very good at her job. however, yoshina's feelings get easily hurt, and when she's hurt she often guilt trips her children into making them feel uncomfortable and into apologizing. she's also weak-willed, never really being able to reject her children whenever they ask her for something. saku loves her to death, although she is never going to eat anything her mother cooks. although yoshina's a genius when it comes to the human anatomy, the food she cooks never really end up being edible. or even if they're edible, they never really taste pleasant. — brother / hinamori, shouta (shouta aniki) / 22 / playful, creative, overprotective, lazy, intelligent like most brothers, shouta is very protective of his little sister, though sometimes he crosses the border and gets too protective it's annoying. he's very playful, however, and chooses to spend most of his days on the couch, playing strategy games via his xbox or playstation. shouta is a college student and goes to one of the best college's in the country, mostly because he's a natural genius. you know, that smart kid who never really has to try in order to get good grades. shouta is also very creative, his left and right brain's are balanced because he's both scarily intelligent and creative, and he always facepalms at the sight of saku's work of arts, being too embarrassed to call her his sister whenever she shows him her work. FRIENDS ♡ — best friend / hiyagi, shūhei (shu-chan) / 17 / studious, serious, artistic, dedicated, loyal
these two are honestly the one of the most unexpected friendships of all time. the jock and the nerd, the only difference is the fact saku is friends with a lot of nerds. in fact, she's sure she's friends with more nerds and the feared ones rather than she's friends with her fellow jocks - most of her close friends are nerds, however, because saku can keep up with their topics sometimes as she's not really the darkest crayon. shūhei, however, is saku's friendship soulmate. their friendship started after saku helped him out in p.e during their first year, and since then, saku found a hobby of annoying shūhei until he puts down his textbook and stops ignoring her. shūhei is saku's biggest supporter in her dream of becoming volleyball captain, and saku supports shūhei in his valiants effort of wooing one of the school's untouchable cheerleaders (she knows he doesn't really have a chance, but it's not like she'll say that to his face). — best friend / fujisaki, ino (nono) / 17 / hyper, talkative, loud, brash, opinionated nono and saku have been best friends ever since saku moved to yokohama. nono is just as athletic as saku, although she puts her focus more in basketball rather than volleyball. the two both have an insane love for horror movies and first bonded through that, and every friday night they always stay over in each other's house and stay up watching horror movies and laughing over stupid main characters. although they haven't been put in the same class yet in high school, saku and nono still find time to talk to each other during lunch, and they still have their traditional friday night horror movie marathons. OTHERS ♡ — movie rental owner / ???, haru (auntie haru) / 38 / hardworking, friendly, complete businesswoman tbh
undoubtedly, saku's favourite place in the whole town (maybe even the whole country) would be auntie haru's movie rental shop. although saku isn't a total movie junkie, she loves watching movies - especially horror - and auntie haru always lends her great quality dvd's with a cheap price, and the movie rental place is also a really nice place to hang out in, with the air conditioned room and the many couches supplied around the (bizarrely) wide shop. auntie haru, the owner, calls saku her favourite loyal customer, as saku's been going to her shop ever since she was twelve and goes there at least once every week. auntie haru gives her special saku discounts that she uses to her advantage. |
the high school goodbye。
FAMOUS LAST WORDS ♡ here's saku! i really hope you like her, i haven't applied in a lot of applyfics so i really hope this didn't disappoint, otl. but yeah, good luck to your story and even if saku doesn't get chosen, i'll most definitely stick around as a reader. fighting!
SCENE SUGGESTIONS ♡ maybe a scene where saku tries to get the whole class to wear pink, and her dragging the group to auntie haru's to discuss for the competition? a scene where saku throws a temper tantrum if they lose something would be entertaining as well, tbh. PASSWORD ♡ desu notto. |
