Okay I have to be honest. I am not a fan of Lee Taemin and I know I am late. But his "ACE" mini album has really taken me by surprise.

I love music that sounds R&B-ish naturally. So automatically I thought his sound would be generic. As well as he hit me with  a few songs that were pretty "Grown n y". I am still shaking my head in wonder. I think I might be gushing...(with love for some of the songs. Not for Taemin.) He has totally opened my eyes to stepping out of the box.youth oriented. However, 

 

His titled album "ACE".  The title song is really, really, really GOOD. The lyrics even make sense. Hahaha!

You know the impression is that sweet Little Taemin is so sweet. On the contrary, he sounds like he may actually

know what he is talking about. For instance.

I mindlessly move a little bit closer

I only imagined this, my boo, oh yeah

You say I look like I don’t know women?
That I look like a little prince who doesn’t know love?

 Sounds like sweet L'il Taemin has something to prove. Maybe he is not all that innocent. Hahaha!  But not only were the lyrics good.

But his vocals were also pretty good. His voice and sound seemed so mature. I had to take a double take and make sure that it was him.

Slow R&B "Quiet Storm " late night radio music. His composers are all that. I was thinking to myself did I just "get served"? WOW TAEMIN!!!!

 

"Play Me" , was the first song I came across yesterday while at work. I was like HUH???!!! Taemin!!!! Is that you? Is he really singing this song?

Oh no he didn't?!  Oh yes he did!

He just took a song that sounds like smooth jazz/adult contemporary music and well in my opinion slayed it K-R&B style. I was completely baffled.

He sounds so y. I had to rid my mind of y thoughts of him. Taemin just reminds me of a woman. So while listening to his smooth voice beckoning me to come to the "T side". I had to get it together. I am still amazed.

 

"Wicked", is a nice feel good tune. Makes you think of back in the day R&B/Hiphop house parties and the clubs . I just smile when listening to this song. This  song makes me think of Shinee does hip hop. The song I like the least is "Pretty Boy ft. KAI." I love me some Kai, but nothing could really save this song. The song just does nothing for me. "Danger is cute with it's sound effects and the choreography was good. Taemin always show his best when it comes to the dance.

"Experience was a neither here nor there song for me. I have to take a few more listens to ths one.

 

   So for me, "ACE" and "Play Me" are the highlights of this mini album for me. He sang to my ovaries so sweetly.  "Danger" and "Wicked" are good dance songs.

But I am just so surprised to see Taemin serving some really good dishes on his debut cd. I might have a new fondness for the man. But don't hold me to it.
