A Piece Story of My Schoollife

As I had mentioned before that starting this year, all the education institutes (elementary until senior high school) will be using the newest curricullum. In Indonesia we called it K13 ('K' here means the Indonesian of 'curriculum' which is 'kurikulum'). All of my friends of course disagree with this new curricullum. Why? It's harder than previous curricullum though. We are demanded to be more active inside the class. The grades also not only seen by our acknowledgement, but also affective (how active you're inside the class), cognitive, and the creativity. Ugh .

We are demanded to have to understand the materials even when the teachers haven't talked/explained about it. Sometimes we would be given papers and we asked to answer all the questions where we did know nothing. What is the use having teachers if in the end we have to study by ourselves then? Heck, in Maths and Science Program we got 2 maths. Maths for all classes (Language, Social, and Math and Science program), and math specialization (only for Maths and Science program). Can you imagine it?

First, I thought I won't meet history. But the truth is History, Maths, English, Indonesia Language, Civic Edu., Art and Culture, Sports, Religion, and also Enterpreneurship are all included in compulsory subjects. While Maths specialization, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are four important lessons we have to be mastered on, simply because I'm into Maths and Science Program.

The system is also definetly, absolutely different from the prev. curricullum. We will be ranked with letters (like A, B, C, and so on), just like universities and there will be no 80, 85, 90, or 95 on your report book. And if I'm not mistaken, the contains for each subject are all from the higher class. For example, I'm studying discriminant (math) in 10th grade, while it should be learnt on the 11th grade. For now, the material that I hardly understand is characteristics of periodic table of elements (ionization, electornegativity, and so on), while the truth is I will get it when I'm stepping on 12th grade. Dammit, I barely understand it. Even my course teacher said that not all the 12th graders understand about that sub-chapter, then how about me, the new 10th grader?

The ministry of edu. said that it was for our goodness, to improving our skills, not only cognitive but also affective and creativity. And the impact is we are getting more and more homeworks and group works/discussions. Having no time for just a nap.

Feels like I wanna move abroad ugh....
