❋ naka is a loser. a huge, giant loser. he's socially awkward to the point that he doesn't like leaving his apartment (part of what attracted him to the pokeuniverse mmo is the fact that he could be someone way cool who goes on adventures and stuff) unless he absolutely has to. he orders groceries online and probably needs new glasses about three years ago. he makes money working online through home - specifically, online it (which, surprisingly, pays pretty well). he really isn't good with actual people - he has a stutter that he's been self-concious about since just about forever, and is still afraid of people making fun of it. there's nothing naka hates more than feeling like a lesser person, even if it is thanks to something as small as specs and a stutter. naka is also very unlucky. murphy's law states, essentially, that if something can go wrong, it will; naka's a firm believer in it, because the only thing he's ever had much luck in is a pokemon vmmorpg. he misses buses, trips over his shoelaces, and usually has to replace some part of his computer every few months.
❋ and yet...he's totally okay with that. naka has accepted the fact that not a lot of things will change in his life; he's an agoraphobic and is fine with that. he's a and he doesn't really care. in fact, he loves his lifestyle. everything's so easy! tell people about easy tech problems, get payed, play a game where he's super gorgeous all day. perfect. he's accepting of everyone else, too - he'll gladly help old ladies turn their computers off and on again or translate trades for the japanese/english challenged players of the mmo, and he doesn't discriminate; he'll gladly join girls,boys, GIRLS, or anything in between for an adventure, because naka just likes adventuring. his lifestyle - despite its unhealthiness - keeps him happy, and because of that, he's just fine.

❋ his family consists of himself, his mother, and his twin sister saki. his father died before the twins were born and his mother hasn't remarried. brett was named after his father, who was half-japanese and half-white. (his mother is fully japanese.)

❋ sterling is just a nice guy who travels around a lot and translates. he's more than willing to help new players and old players with things they need help with; mostly, he just flys and surfs around, looking for people to meet.

❋ to be honest, sterling's not huge on battling; he much prefers exploring the world around and in front of him. his pokemon's movesets consist of moves useable for transportation, for the most part - which means they aren't exactly wonderful battlers. if he has to, he'll usually just make the best of the movesets he has.
❋ sterling doesn't have a particular type pokemon he's partial to, either; he just likes friends, regardless of their battle/travel practicality. togekiss, for example, isn't the speediest, but he'd much rather have him than somebody speedier.

❋ togekiss was recieved as a togepi - the first pokemon given to sterling. he evolved from happiness when he and sterling reached the indigo plateau - they'd truly became friends then. sterling had recieved the shiny stone from a japanese player as thanks for helping translate a trade - it was used shortly afterward.
