I just wanted to let you guys know that i have started to write a novel outside of aff as i wanted to try and get away from fanfics a little. For years tales of dragon riders were told to me as a child, but I never once thought they were fictional. Dragon riders are the king’s fighters and only a select few males have ever been able to become a dragon rider.

The dragon riders are chosen by their dragons, and those dragons stay with them till death. Never has a dragon left their rider’s side. The men that are destined to be dragon riders are fierce men that are willing to risk their own life in order to protect the kingdom they serve under, but most of all their dragons. When a dragon is hurt, their rider also feels their pain. They are connected in ways we mere humans do not understand.

On the night of your eighteenth birthday an egg appears, and that egg is your dragon. Once that dragon has been found by their rider, they hatch and leave a marking on their rider. No one marking is ever the same.

Mother always told me that the marking given by the dragon, represents the dragons inner power and ability. I always wished I could be a dragon rider and often dreamed about serving the kingdom. When I had told my mother about my dreams she dismissed it since a woman could never be a dragon rider. Only ever has a male been chosen. Until Now.
