PERSONALITY ♡ wendy is that bubbly next door neightbour girl you would find. she has a great passion for singing, once she gets into something she must fight with it til the end. there's no giving up in her dictionary. as she may looks, she is very childish and is an ultimate prankster. she loves joking around and she is the mood setter of the group. her talkative nature allows her to speak up for her herself and she is unafraid to challenge others. however, due to this nature she often subconsciously blurts out not-so-good things. but most of time, she's that one girl who makes everyone laugh. casuing her to become the happy virus and vitamin of the group.  

growing up in such a carefree and calm environment, she has no idea on how to resolve stressful situations. after getting to korea and facing those monthly evaluations, she gets frantic every single time. moreover, she is very forgetful. infact she is a certified gold fish, with a memory span of probably less than 30 seconds. the thing that wendy forgets the most is her phone. she is the complete opposite of an ocd person. she loves messy, to her messiness is an 'art'. the managers often get really frsutrated with her as they are worried that her image might be ruined once a variety show occus and she won't be able to switch to that tide girl that everyone would like her to portray. the cleaners also dislike her a lot. whenever she finishes using a practice room, she never bothers cleaning it up.  

having gone through many hardships regarding relationships, she is a very loyal person. once a friend, forever a friend. she loves her friends members as uch as she loves herself. she treasures it a lot. with an outgoing personality, she is willing to befriend everyone. she relies on others a lot, without her friends she is unable to survive.

wendy was born in canada. her mother was a passtissier and her father was a businessman. as wendy's mother aspired to become a singer, she urged wendy and minah (wendy's sister) to do the same. you might wonder why her mother became a passitissier but not a singer. back then when her mother aspired to become a singer, her family's financial situation was terrible. her family couldn't afford her to attend vocal and dancing classes. so in order to make a living, she worked at cafe s a part-timer and as years passed she was interested in baking and was eventually promoted to become a passitissier. it might've been the art of baking, but this kept her interested and by the time she wanted to return back to the dream. she was past the age and now that she thinks back, she ponders if she woud've been living her life as a talented and well known singer. this was a regretful dream and because of that she ensured teh both of them attended vocal, dance and acting classes every since they were toddlers. this evoked her inner performer, but she was more passionate about singing. 

as she became older and more stress from school landed on her, she no longer had time to continue on these dreams, she became a regular student who took studies as her first priority. she wasn't the typical asian student who excelled in all her academics but it was fairy acceptable as an asian. even though she no longer attended vocal classes, she still actively participated in various musicla productions. even so, she wasn't very popular due to her chubbiness. 

during highschool when she was 16, the hallyu wave spread to canada and wendy fell into this craze and became a huge fan of superjunior. kyuhyun was her bias and she wanted to become the main vocalist just like him and touch the world with her vocals. she won many local singing competitions and was scouted by many local entertainment companies however she only wanted to become a kpop idol. 

her parents were very against her. even her mother, who dreamt of becoming a singer stopped her. her mother who heard many rumours about the dark kpop industry did not comply. she was unsure of letting wendy go even at the age of 19. even thoug she's technically an adult already, she loved her daughter so much that she wanted wendy beside her. wendy was still the little baby to her. instead of letting her training in korea, she wanted her to become a singer in canada. her father was extremely against this. even though he was a korean himself, he didn't want to have any more relations with korea what so ever. the main reason why he moved to canda with his wife. back then when he was in korea, at the time where wendy's parents were about to get married, her father's family was very against the marriage. her father who loved his fiancee so much begged day and night just to convince their parents, but nothing worked. at that time, her father felt his world crashing down and he just wanted to escape. he hated his family and during that time he did not want to be near them. they just fleed to canada, married and gave birth to two kids.  

one day when wendy was 20, sm global auditions were open to dreams and wendy secretly applied without the consent of her parents. due to a huge argument that they had a year ago which caused the scar behind her ear, she knew that her parents would defiinitely not approve. no matter what, she really wanted to use this opportunity so she applied secret and was selected as a contestant. she consulted with her sister minah for a long time and came to a conclusion. this was it. this is her dream. she's 20 already. she's an adult. she can take hold of her future. her motto "miracle is another word for hardwork was her main source of motivation. with long persistence and hard work she won the sm global auditions and flew to korea to become a trainee. 

jihoon, who found out that wendy fleed to korea for a competition through his close friends back in korea, he decided to cut ties with wendy. wendy who fleed, never even contacted the family once. her father who was very stubborn also did not attempt to find her as well. even though connections were being cut, she still kept close contact with minah, her older sister. through her sister, she found out about her father disowning her resulting her stage name in being wendy, without the son. and obviously softheared mother that se-na was, bugged minah for a long time and finally found out about wendy's victory in korea.

PRESENT ♡ 
wendy has no one except for her red velvet members in korea. she lost contact, more like never tried to contact her family after the flee. in order to replace the empty feeling of hers, she treats the rest of the red velvet members like her family. they are one. in order for her a miracle to happen, she spends most of her time in the rehersals room. trying to become the best idol there is in the kpop industry. this spirit of hers brings a lot of jealousy from their band mate p!nk fr!day.

SUMMARY ♡ nakamoto yuta, people call him yuta. he is japanese and is 4 months younger than wendy. he got casted through 2012 sm global audition in japan and he loves to play football. this is wendy's crush. they got into sme at the same time so they trained together. they got close really quickly due to their memorable first meeting and are very close friends.

FIRST MEETING ♡ they first met ouside of sme quarters when they first came to korea for the first time. as yuta was japanese and was not familiar with korean, they had troubles communicating. but through eye contact and hand gestures they were able to communicate. 

RELATIONSHIP ♡ as they were both foreigners, they were allocated to study korean and train together. they often sit together in these classes as they both feel comfortable with each other. on their free days, they would go sight seeing together or sing kpop covers together. all the other trainees are envious of their relationship and they ship both of them as well. they are like brothers and sisters, but obviously wendy feels something more and so does yuta. 

CONCLUSION ♡ after red velvet debuted, wendy had to move to another building and they no longer trained together. however, they would still contact each other and still go sight seeing occasionally. but the number of times that happened became a lot less after wendy's debut. yuta and wendy disliked this separation and the distance, so he worked as hard as he could to debut and become much more closer to wendy. after yuta's successful debut, they ended up being allocated on the show 'we got married' and started dating.
