The Passage by Justin Cronin, it's super well written and even though it's crazy long it holds your attention through it all, I was at least always excited to turn to the next page. Be aware that it's not romance driven, but there are deep emotional connections and good character development :)
The Game of Thrones series is awesome. Maze runner is also a good choice. The First phone call from heaven or The time keeper are also good books. Lord of the Flies is a brilliantly written classic.
