This post contains spoilers for “It’s Okay, It’s Love”

I love hearing that my favorite idols are going to be in dramas. That being said, I don’t watch a drama exclusively because an idol is going to be in it. If I’m going to commit to watching all 16/18/20 episodes of the thing, it better be good. So far "Protect the Boss" has been my favorite—I got interested because of Jaejoong, and stayed for the comedy.

With “It’s Okay, It’s Love” I was pleased to see Gong Hyo-jin in the drama because I loved her in Master’s Sun, but surprised to see Kyungsoo had been casted. When I thought of which EXO members would be actors, he was always low on the list. I love him don’t get me wrong, but I always thought Suho, Kris, Chanyeol and Lu Han would be the representative actors in EXO. They seemed to be the ones who wanted it most.

The drama had an interesting plot, and it had 2 people whose performance I wanted to watch, so I gave the show a chance. And boy am I glad I did! “It’s Okay, It’s Love” blew me right out of the water. The writer did an excellent job but I have to say, Kyungsoo’s character was probably the most interesting one for me. And he did such a fantastic job. Especially in episode 14, after he’d been hit by the car and was showing symptoms of ALS. That performance was incredible. And he’s come a long way from his acting in episode one. Looking at him now, I find it hard to believe he’s a rookie actor and even harder to believe that I ever doubted him. How did he get so good at crying?!?!

It’ll be interesting to see if his performance as Kangwoo wins any awards, and it’ll be interesting to see how the final episode of “It’s Okay, It’s Love” plays out.
