personality:
Loyal: Lena will do anything and everything for her friends and for her family. It doesn't matter if it's the middle of the night, if you need her, she'll be there. She puts friendship above anything else and she doesn't waver when it comes to sticking up for her close ones. It's the only thing she asked from the society and never got.
Selfless: It doesn't matter if it's sacrifice or sharing or just giving a hand to a total stranger - Lena will do it. She doesn't know herself if it's a trait of her character or just a crazy wish to die in some situations. One thing is for sure: she'd help anyone even if it could be at her loss.
Reserved: As a kid, she learned to keep shut and her thoughts to herself, so she often passes as conceited when in fact she's just quietly observing and analyzing things before opening . This trait comes from her fear of being judged by what she says as she often was, so she prefers to remain quiet most of the times, despite being quite vocal on the inside.
Brave: Lena isn't one that would let others do dangerous stuff while she sits back and watches or hides behind a man. No, from this point of view, Lena self-educated her like a Spartan: she can wield a sword, is a master of archery, can fly for hours before getting tired and, if her wings fail her, she's capable of running miles. She'd die before embarrassing herself and let a man or anyone else protect her.
Determined: Anything she wants, Lena gets or does. She wanted to learn how the humans used to protect themselves so she forged a sword and learned how to use it. She wanted to learn how to knit, she persuated an old exiled fae to teach her. And when she learned there was a way to find out who her mom was, she did it without second thoughts, without caring there was a possibility that she'd get punished, exiled or even worse, executed.
Quick tempered: Now, although she's reserved and passes by as timid and girly, Lena's temper is pretty hot to be handled even by the calmest persons. She blames her father for it and curses like a stable boy whenever her temper pushes her to saying things she could regret later on. But as hot headed as she is, she usually calms down quickly if let alone.
Judgemental: Although she knows from personal experience that a person shouldn't be judge by appearance, social status, bloodline or origins, she can't help herself but despise the Hybrids as herself, because she knows they are causing disorder in the realms and that, because they can hold special powers, are hunted down. Lena also hates the pure bloods for the sole reason they made her life a living Hell during her childhood and teen years, so if she looks at you with bad eyes after hearing you're a pure blood creature, she actually just building up walls against those horrible memories she'd do anything to forget.
Dramatic: "In every girl resides a drama queen." That's the saying Lena offers as answer when questioned about why she swooped down without using her wings until near the ground or why she wears only black combined with white or silvery furs. But her close ones know it's only a facade that usually hides deep emotions and a craving for freedom.
Cruel: Lena learned to live with this side of her. Being half-fae in the realm of demons wasn't easy for her during her teen years. She had to prove her multiple times and it was never a nice view. She's also extremely cruel to those who betray her or to her enemy - forginess is not a word that exists in her dictionary. It's not a thing Lena would say out loud, but this part of her offers her a terrible satisfaction and that scares and disgusts her at the same time.
Deceitful: It wasn't once or twice she used her fae-like appearance to exploit the weaknesses of others. And although it's not a habit due to her reserved personality, Lena likes to lie when it comes to feelings and disclosing her origins or bloodline. Living in her world, she had to do what it took to survive and if lying came in handy, then she did it without ever regretting it.

Lena. That's all she got from her mother: a name like a lullaby, a fae-like appearance and translucent wings.
Yan. That's what her father granted for her after her exile: his family name, eyes like his and a quick temper.
Lena Yan wasn't supposed to be born in the first place. But, things don't always go as we wish and so she came into the world, the product of an illicit one-night-stand between an air fairy and (at that time), an unknown demon. Her mother had hoped for a child with blonde and purple-eyed child which she could have kept in Varem and rear herself. But Lena was the the carbon copy of her demonic father and her mother was forced into exiling her to Kivon. Her father took her in only because he recognized the smell of Lena's mother imprinted on her baby skin and because, of course, all demons are forced by law to recognize all of their offsprings once they enter the realm.
Growing up in Nashoba wasn't easy for Lena, the Hybrid. Although the realm's population consists of both Hybrids and pure bloods, the interbreeding between demons and any other creature of light is rare towards non-existent. So Lena had to bear: the curiosity, the poking, the pulling of her translucent wings, the cussing, the bad looks and eventually, the way the residents of Nashoba ignored her.
She grew up in the heart of Nashoba, in her father's house, but she was mostly out on the streets, hiding from her father's multitude of consorts and from the mean kids. And while others went to school, she learned everything by herself, with the help from the self-exiled ones that taught her how to read and write and who often gifted her with books or stories they were bringing from their own realms. They taught her how to value herself and how to love others, how to bring to an equilibrium her two opposing natures. And to repay their kindness, she'd bring them food from her father's house or repair things for them in her little, hidden shop.

Daehyun is a typical and not quite so demon. Of course, he has the cruelty running in his veins, the wit and the cockiness, but at times he's soft spoken and has an inner longing he would never admit out loud. His job taught him to be ruthless and exploit every weakness he can identify, so he gets really manipulative when he's after something he really wants.
But despite all of these, despite knowing what his job is and how he needs to act so that he satisfies the orders he gets, Daehyun hates being a demon. The idea that every other realm considers his kind rutheless and inclined towards dark powers, leaving no room for showing that there are demons and other creatures that harbor peaceful thoughts and feellings, kills him on the inside.
He also believes that he is unable to harbor feelings towards another person other than himself and his superiors... until he meets Lena.

Daehyun first met Lena when he was first brought into Aaron's house for training as a child. He found her a strange kid and he's often find himself following her from afar to observe her.
Year later, they meet again. Only that this time, he finds her in a self-exiled's home, listening to stories about the humankind with her strange, golden eyes sparkling with interest.

Often teasing, often fights lead to Daehyun's approval of her as a memeber of Kivon's society. They're both crytical of each other and tend to fight over the smallest things.

As for studying, she refused to go to public school, so she got a private tutor. But even so, she prefers doing everything by herself: reading, studying, entertaining herself with games of imagination.
