Do You Guys Like Female idols?

Do you guys like female idols/groups? For some reason for me, I just can't like them. I like their some of their music, but I just can't like the idols at all. For some reason, I feel like they take advantange of men's attention and they seem fake to me. I don't know, it's been bothering me how I don't like them at all. I kinda like 2NE1 and love Baek Jiyoung, but I really don't know why I dislike the other female idols. I think it got to do how they always get guys attention and they just seem fake to me. I think that some members/idols get more attention than others and that take advangtage of male celebrites, like in Running Man, most of the girls don't do anything and I realize I avoid those episodes because of them.

I just feel weird how I dislike them when I don't know anything about them, but I think I just think it just to do with me since I hate how people take advantage of others or something like that. I'm not saying that the girls do take advantage of them, I just feel like it because there used to be a few girls like them at my middle school, so I think it got to do with that because a lot of them are asian and they're the "popular" kind of people so yeah.

But I have a question, do you guys like female idols/groups? If not, why? I might have them reasoning as you.

I actually like them. All idols are fake at least at one point. Their face, their act, their past, their music, ect. Female idols are supposed to keep the image that the company gives them with no questions asked.

Why don't you try listening to them without watching, so you know if you like it, without being biased towards the idea of them using their looks. Which I think it's a little ridiculous. All idols are found by talent, and then treated to have a pleasing image, we know that.

Regarding myself, the number of female idols I follow is considerably lower than the males. That it's just because I like a different sound.
I think it might be that you don't look at them twice, because all you see is maybe a piece or whole mv, and I don't see how judging by that would be fair.
We should always see and dig deeper.

i do like female idols/groups too. but not all of them, just a few of them... like 2ne1, miss A, after school, spica, and IU.
i didn't mean for saying this kind of things, but sometimes i feel like female idols/groups just using their face for an mv, not their music... but not all of them ofc, so please dont misunderstanding me...

I think the reason you dislike the other girl idols is because you know the girls are feeding the "male gaze" which is is a feminist theory which states that most visuals in entertainment (cinema, music, cartoons, etc) are to feed the eyes of men. Which means Y women that show off their s/butts/skin are to feed the interest of MEN only and do not show any emphasis on a girl's character.

And why you like 2NE1 is because you know they DON'T feed the male gaze. There is no skin reveal unless it is tasteful and raw like CL's solo where she was bare but covered... to show vulnerability/strength in a tasteful way. Other girl groups reveal skin because it gets MEN's attention and their audience is MEN.

And maybe another reason ... It's because you think it's disgusting for a woman to be doing that, period. Because you know yourself that as a girl, you don't want to do that. Thus, you reflect what you believe girls shouldn't be doing.

But I hope you don't dislike all girl groups that reveal a lot of skin or go for the y image and think they're "fake". Just a reminder, all kpop artists have to go through a process and HAVE LITTLE to NO CONTROL of what they do. Know that girl groups get less control over their work. Exceptions are the case of YG Entertainment where self-producing idols are welcomed. But other companies want beautiful puppets instead of getting puppet masters for idols. Get it? Idols are money generators; thus, must go for things that are popular--and as a girl, you will dislike it.

I recommend you get into SPICA. They are the only girl group that have the vocals of Goddesses. "Russian Roulette" , "Pain Killer", "Tonight", "You don't love me" "I did it (english)" ^u^

I feel the same way about certain male idols as I do certain female idols. Most of us think that all idols are the same: kind, generous, and extremely talented. But we forget, they are humans. They have flaws and they make plenty of mistakes. The personalities they portray on TV may not necessarily be the way they are in person.

Either way, it's Korea. That's how they want their woman to be portrayed as, meek and dependent on a man. She has to be y and cute and show off her long gorgeous legs and flawless skin. Even if they show off their dorky side, do they not return to that perfect image? Society does this.

I personally follow more male groups but I still love girl groups.
I'm a huge fan of f(x) and 2NE1 (even though I've always followed the latter more in terms of music) and can't see the fakeness you're talking about in them. In terms of variety skills SNSD is my favourite and again, I don't see them trying hard to grab guys' attention since they're a bunch of dorks and make me laugh so much.
I just wanna say that no matter how much one can dislike it, korean variety shows work like that. Most of the time the MCs or the cast are male and ofc when there are female guests they're gonna be more lenient. For example in Running Man Jihyo was treated like a princess when she was still a guest but then became one the homies.
Sometimes it's just about mainting a certain image but not all them are fake and trying to grabbing males' attention. I think yours is a normal reaction but try not to always read too much between the lines ^~^. Who knows, maybe your next post will be about your fav girl group ;P

Not EVERY female idol wants the guy's attention you know.Some are just being friendly and some are indeed being flirty.As you said in running man,well,they're GIRLS and girls are meant to be the "weaker" one,nothing's wrong with that.Some female idol are really funny and have humors you know,those down to earth ones.Like fx,afterschool,apink,ESPECIALLY SNSD.Watch their own varieties shows where there's only them.Hello baby,amazing fx,apink news etc.etc.If after u watch u still think they're flirty and annoying then I think the problem is just you have something against girls,but hey,no hate,I don't judge:)
Why I like and LOVE female idols is,not because I'm a guy.But because they're naturally more kind than male ones.More gentle and idk,I don't really laugh at boy's groups jokes,but female groups makes some funny .And it's really fun to see them breaking their image,shows how much down to earth they are.
But obviously again,everyone is entitled to their own opinion:)

I think that's a bit unfair statement to make to be honest. Sure, there are some female idols who seem fake but I could say the same for some male idols as well. Just because you knew some girls in middle school who did that stuff, doesn't mean the female idols act that way but to answer your question...

and Lee Hi are some of the few that've caught my interest. Jessica from SNSD is my favorite XD She appears cold on the outside but really cute and funny when she's not on stage from what I've seen in some variety shows.
