I'm pretty sure i'm 900% done with kpop

So for the past few months I haven't been listening to kpop as much as I used to and because of that many people have called me a "fake fan"

Tell me this, what does it mean to be a "real fan" to you? To me it means supporting your group whether you have all of their albums or none.  A "real fan" is someone who respects their idol and someone who doesn't go out of their way to be completely over the top to fit into the "fangirl" stereotype. Me taking a break from Kpop actually made me realize how ed up it was. I was so oblivious to the fact that no one is and or can be perfect. Never. Lately I've become a bit of a fan of one direction, I'm not afraid to be a fan of one direction. Frankly I don't think anyone is, I think that we're so ashamed of the stereotyped 1D fans that we kind of shy away from saying that we're fans. I've seen many comments by kpoppers on a few One direction videos and it's sad to say that I have yet to see a Kpop fan write something nice on their videos.

I recently saw a comment saying they will never be as good as B.A.P or they are all fags and Kpop is way better. Seriously, how to you think your "oppa" would respond to this? If I was him I would be pretty much disgusted with your comments. What have these 5 boys done to you to make you this way? They are humble, they respect everyone, and they all have the hearts of an angel and for you to say you hate them, when you don't even know them is complete and utter .

Another hing, The Kemy diss track. YG fans why the hell are you getting so defensive? Sure it was rude for her to come out of her way to make a diss track but all of her lyrics were basically all just ing facts. I actually sort of like Kemy, she seems like someone who won't take from anyone and I like that.

Goodbye Kpop

with much love, A dissapointed (old)Kpop fan

I kinda agree with you on the whole bom situation,Bom is a big girl she can handle herself ~

But then again Remy really didn't have a reason to come at bom and I think that's why everyone so pissed off about it... Yeah she was stating facts, but for what reason? everyone already knew about them? So what was the point...? Like I said before bom is a grown women if she wanted to react to Remy she would of done so, but bom is much bigger than that she has no time to play little back and forth games with Remy

And i also agree with you on the one direction negativity, I don't like when people talk bad about one direction my thing is if you don't like them why tf are you listen to the music video then waste time doing a negative comment!??! Like what's the point? And they know damn well if some one was dissing kpop the would of went all types of crazy ~

At the end of the day we are people we change and say and do stupid things~

That's the same with me. I love Glee, and I think they're really talented. I'm not that ashamed to admit that I rarely listen to Kpop anymore. I'm more into my oldies and my Glee covers. But it's only because that's what I grew up with.

As for One Direction, I'm not a fan, but I listen to them sometimes. They are a talented boys and I wish all the success to them and same for the Kpop artists out there :D

there are various scales of 'being a fan'. to me, what you have described is the extreme scale of being totally immersed into a 'fandom': merch, knowing all the 'facts' and latest news, getting very defensive and argumentative in support of their idol in the comments, etc etc. the other scale is enjoying their work and choosing them in your 'top 5' list (or whatever).
for me, being a fan is feeling happy when they're singing, performing, acting, writing, etc and getting excited with anticipation of news of comebacks and new releases. being a fan does not mean you forgive everything they do, esp. when they done wrong.
maybe youre no longer in the kpop fandom, but still a fan of your fav groups? it's not like you now hate listening to your fav songs and probably wont stop listening to anything new they may release? i was like you and i was so done and fed up with the fandom (still kind of am) because there used to be heaps of inner wars (i am a cassie and shawol). i still call myself a fan because i go to dbsk or shinee music if i want to relax. and i was super excited with their comebacks etc. you just wont find me crying when they go to the army and i wont be fooled into racking up youtube counts or fight other fangirls over stupid comments.
1D is cool :)

I didn't know about that I wouldn't say I am a diretioner myself (mostly because I can't seem to come in to terms with them -some of them-) but I do like 1D songs I have a full list I'm nothing like the steriotype "real fans" I don't have any albums of shinee nor do I own their merch and I have definitely not been to their concerts some may call me a supporter and not a "real fan" for this I've gotten that quite a few times but if there's one thing I know a fan is some one who supports their idol through thick and thin when they're happy and when they are sad it's not like stalking or plain admiring it's something more then that when you are a fan you want your idols to be happy you'll respect what they do and don't like as well as their opinions from the way I see it if a person collects all their merch has gone to every event they have memorised every song or even if they've met the idols face to face and talked to them they are not real fans until they understand the values of respect there is a fine line between supporting and obsessing and that's what most fans need to realise a true fan to me is a fan that supports not obsessed over their oppas it's sad to know that some fans do that going to other mvs and commenting about their oppas I hate seeing that even if that person is one of my shawols i'd be dissapointed too I actualy did go to the 1D mvs and listen to them their fun to listen t from time to time at some point I had the urge to comment on it and say wow cool mv i like it or nice song but I guess I'm still quite sore with some directioners coming to shinee mvs and commenting hateful things there anyway I just want you to know that there are some and theses probably refer to the older fans that are mature and aren't like the ones you hate I don't think I'll ever come to hate kpop as a genre I tried trust me it went for a month and then I started listening to it but about the fandom though I'd stick with being someone with multiple fandoms

Yes, don't be ashamed to be a One Direction fan! :D
It's so rare to see fans of them in K-Pop. Especially after their Best Song Ever Mv with how much Babyz batched them ;_; it was heartbreaking for me since I was in the middle of two of my fandoms.
For the Kemy track, I just think that it was more an act than anything, just my opinion.
