A movie based on a fanfic
The pile on my right was steadily increasing, even though I repeatedly told myself that it would be my last. The pumpkin seeds were nutty, salty and I couldn't keep myself from popping the shells open.
I was in the middle of such monotonous but rewarding activity, when the screen door banged shut, followed by a shriek that pierced my eardrums. A glare was promptly sent her way but the culprit was glued in front of the tv.
"Team TOP?! They didn't even bother to change his name!"
Huh?
"What happened?" Mom appeared from the kitchen, wiping her hands with a dish towel. "Why are you shouting? The neighbors will hear you."
Exactly.
The sister was unfazed and motioned her hand towards the screen. "It's a fanfic. From Wattpad."
"Wattpad?" Poor mother was getting more and more confused.
"That fanfiction site." She uttered the word with so much disdain and went up to her room, as if that was the only explanation needed.
Well, it should be enough because I am not going to elaborate. Not even going to correct her about Wattpad being a fanfiction site. I didn't even realize she knows BIGBANG, or TOP, for her to be so affected.
Talk Back and You're Dead, a TOP fanfiction in Wattpad, is now the third Wattpad story with a movie adaptation. The author published it but kept the name. And I just remembered that Marianations mentioned it last year.
