Friendly Chit Chat
Hello Lovelies,
I noticed that I have quite a few friends here on AFF, but I don't get a chance to talk to you all. As writers, we sometimes forget how important it is to have a good relationship with our readers. Too many people have let the glitter and shimmer of popularity turn them into vain AFF divas. At the end of the day, it isn't about that little gold star beside your story title or your rank. It's about the craft, the fun and joy that you get from writing. I know I'm going off on a tangent completely different from the point of this post, but I'd just like to take the time to say how much I appreciate each and every one of you. You guys give me hope and make me smile with all of your comments and adorable and engaging blog posts. I know I took a huge leap by deactivating my previous account (which I weep about every now and again) but it gave me a chance to start off fresh free from the wave of false popularity. Deep down inside, I'm still and always will be N3RDLogic. That account had some awesome memories, but it feels good to create new ones with new and old friends alike. I don't want to get too sentimental, but I love the AFF community. Though we fuss, fight, and drive each other completely insane, we are one big family. To see that a member of our family has actually gotten published is sort of a beacon of hope for the rest of us. Though I haven't gotten the chance to meet Esther, I am truly proud of her accomplishments. It only inspires me to never give up on my dream of becoming a published author some day. Whether you are a new writer or a seasoned veteran, you are all amazing. Remember that. Never let anyone discourage you from writing because no matter what anyone says you are of value. We all have to start from somewhere, right? So what if your grammar isn't perfect! Yeah, your plot may be cliché but it's yours. We need to stop worrying so much about being better than the next person and focus on being the best that we can be for ourselves.
Ah, my friendly chit chat has turned into a rant xD But, I seriously would like to get to know you all a little better. Don't be afraid to talk to me. Whether you believe it or not, I actually LOVE hearing what you have to say. I guess it would help if I introduced myself first. For those of you who don't know me, my name is Markita. I'm twenty-one years old, and like many people my age, I have yet to fully grasp this thing we call "college". I'm an avid reader, writer, and researcher. I LOVE learning about new subjects, cultures, and ways of thinking. I literally took the word 'nerd' and ditched the stereotype to turn it into something cool. I probably spend more time on electronics than I should, but what can I say, there always something fun to do and new to try. Did I mention that music is life? I love how universal it is and how it speaks to so many people. It's amazing! My favorite groups are SHINee, EXO, and GG. SM biased, much? I listen to tons of other groups, but those three just have my heart. SHINee, to me, is probably the best of the three. Their talent, resilience, and effervescence just reaches me deep to the core. I love them!
My bias list will most likely be the size of a grocery list but HERE WE GO.
