Personality :

SungHyo has lots of energy and likes to play around with the members. Despite this, she wouldn't hesitate to drop everything if you needed her to talk or just to hear you out.  She cares about the people who are important to her so she makes sure that they're healthy by making them meals and always asks about their day.If you have problems, she'll lend her shoulder to cry on and listen intently before giving advice. She will always respect your decision but will discourage you if she thinks that it wouldn't do you any good. She's also very supportive of her friends and would encourage them to do whatever they wanted to do.

When it comes to work, she's a perfectionist. She practices until the late hours of the day just to get the her choreography and lines right. To her, her performance must be flawless. Even when she gets sick, she'll insist that she needs to go and practice. She's only like this on herself though. She also can't sit still. She finds it uncomfortable when she's just sitting and doing nothing. She'd rather do something worth her time. When she's expected to sit still, like in programs and such, she will constantly change her postion (crossing/uncrossing her legs and/or arms). She's open to listen to other people's problems but prefers not to tell anyone hers. She doesn't want to bother anyone with her own problems so she just keeps everything inside. 

Background : 

SungHyo was born on August 14, 1994 in Seoul, South Korea. She already developed a love for dancing ever since she was young because she got influenced by her brother, SungHyun, who also loved to dance. He would teach her simple dances and then perform it in front of their parents. Their parents were delighted to know that they share a passion for dancing and enrolled them for dance classes on the weekends.

They moved to New York City when SungHyo was 10 due to their father's work. She had a hard time adjusting to the new culture but eventually got used to it. In her school, she joined an acrobatics class. She often got sprains and fractures but this only made her determined to get the routines right. This is when she started being a perfectionist on her performance. When she was 14, she and her brother joined various dance competitions. She then realized that this is what she wanted to do for a living. When she was 16,they moved back to Seoul where SungHyo started auditioning for various companies. She was accepeted as a trainee in JYP after a year.
