Some people use it for plagiarism cases. While we can't stop it entirely, we can at least try even in the fanfic world plagiraism is a no no. Authors want to feel safe and secure so I like the privacy options given to us you don't see that often on fanfic sites ^^


Anywho at least you aren't being a jerk about it like most people are .___. Some go overboard as to actually bash authors for using it.

I use it to avoid Plagiarism troubles. It is seriously very annoying to put in hours and hours of hard work and then someone not even on AFF steals and translates it without credit and then you can't even do anything about it because you don't know how the site in a completely different language works /sighs/

i'm starting to appreciate the option more, though i won't use it for a while. it just lets me know who's serious about my fics and who just reads and leaves...
