PERSONALITY:  Mihyun is a very sympathetic person. She always lends a shoulder to cry on, and loves giving out advice. If she didn’t join Illuminate she would’ve been a therapist or mental health counsellor. Because she can sympathize with people, she can look at things from diferent perspectives, and is usually very open-minded. She is generous because she grew up with more than enough (Her family was in the upper-middle class). Mihyun gets gifts, food, water, jewellery, and clothes from her parents so she gives away the extras to other people. She always liked simple things. Because she is sympathetic, she doesn’t judge a person until she knows them. She is usually a quiet girl, but she loves to laugh with her friends. She is very motherly and protective over her friends and loved ones. If you mess with one of her girls (or boys) then she’s out to get you. When people first meet her she doesn’t talk to them much, but she’s polite. After you get to know her you find that you can trust her. Mihyun is a quiet girl when she’s around strangers, but she likes to share her opinion with people she can trust.
(+)Mihyun can handle personal matters and emotions very well. Usually she is the one to comfort a friend if they’re upset (which is why people think she’s motherly). She always fusses over her members, bringing extra clothes, giving them reminders, or helping with schoolwork/college work.   She’s good with children because she can understand them well, having two younger siblings and being the oldest in her family. She is very independent and doesn’t need someone to take care of her. She gets easily annoyed if someone thinks she can’t take care of herself.  Mihyun doesn’t talk a lot, but she isn’t someone who never speaks. She wants to be a role model for kids. She wants to be trustworthy and doesn’t spill secrets. Despite people trusting her, she only trusts those closest to her. She led a calm life so far, and she doesn’t want it to get too exciting. She isn’t an adventure-loving person, and prefers a tranquil life. Her only ‘adventures’ are the various hobbies she tries. (-) Despite her good qualities, Mihyun isn’t perfect. One of her flaws is that she is unforgiving. With her you have one chance almost all the time. If you break her trust, you’re not going to get it back. You have to be careful around her (and the people she loves). She tends to overthink things a lot, which ends up wasted up time, no work getting done, and a rushed finish product. She is quite impatient, and she hates waiting. She isn’t persistent, and gives up after a few tries. She gets bored of things easily, and she doesn’t mind change. She can never stick to one thing and has a lack of commitment. Her impatience and lack of persistence go hand-in-hand.
(-)Mihyun is really picky (or finicky). She says that she has to make a decision, and takes a long time doing it. She’s indecisive too, so she tries to include everyone’s opinions. She is inconsistent and has no consistency in her life. She’s fussy and worries a lot. And no matter how hard she tries she gets jealous really easily. Of those who beat her, who are better than her, who are on the same level. She tries not to hate them too much, but sometimes she has to quit because she isn’t persistent, and she’s jealous everyone’s doing it better than her. Mihyun gets bored of things easily, always changing, which annoys people. She’s tried numerous hobbies and jobs, but almost none stick around. It seems that she’s rarely passionate about anything enough to commit to it. The only exceptions are singing and dancing, along with a few other choice hobbies. She is always changing her mind. Because a lot about what she likes and dislikes changes, her friends have to be very wary not to upset her. They communicate a lot, and Mihyun can be a little clingy, asking where they are and if they’ve eaten. Usually people don’t mind her motherly ways, but sometimes it gets a little annoying. 

To recap, Mihyun is a quiet girl who speaks when she has something to say. She is generous and tries to not judge people. She is impatient and hates commitment, because she always changes her mind. Despite that, she takes care of the people she loves and helps them out in times of need, having two younger siblings. You can always count on her to remember the homework and remind you, or give you a shoulder to cry on and advice on how to fix it. However, she gets jealous easily, and her motherly nature can make her fussy and clingy. She is hardly ever consistent, and is very picky and indecisive. You have to be very careful around her because of her sharp memory and lack of forgiveness.

BACKGROUND:  Jung Mihyun was born to her parents on April 19, 1994. There was a heavy rainstorm on that day, and she was born in the middle of it. A few hours after she was born, her father received news that her mother would not survive. The two said goodbye, and Mihyun was named after her. The sun started to shine, and Mihyun’s father likes to say it’s because that Mihyun is sunshine to the world. They lived happily for a few years, though it wasn’t the same. Mihyun always visited her mother’s grave on her birthday, placing her favourite flower (lilies of the valley) by her headstone. Though the two were happy, Mihyun needed a mother. Eventually, in spring 1998, when Mihyun was four, her father started seeing Lee Aesook, an architect. The two got married two years later, and Mihyun was the flower girl at their wedding. She sang a song for the two, as their only child (Aesook’s first child died a few weeks after being born due to a weak heart, and the father left when he heard of the child). Aesook adored Mihyun’s cute singing style and sent her to vocal lessons.

Aesook and her father, Jung Hwansuk, had two beautiful identical twins born on December 18, 2002. They were named Jung Myungdae (older by two minutes), and Jung Myungki. The vocal lessons stopped when they were born, to save money.  Mihyun was only eight, so she didn’t like the twins very much. Howver, when she had to look after them, she grew to love their childish ways. She calls the twins Dae (Myungdae) and Myung (Myungki). As mentioned before, they called her Mimi. When the twins were four and went to pre-school, twelve-year-old Mihyun had to walk them to and from school, and met a lot of the kids there. She got involved with volunteering and working with kids. Sometimes she would see a kid crying on the playground and she would help them and sing to them. She missed singing. To make money to start lessons again, she decided to run her own lessons for the little kids. The lessons went for a year, and she made enough money to start, and her parents were astonished by her responsibility. They rewarded her with figure skating lessons. 

In 2007, they moved to a bigger house for three, and both her parents got promotions at work. Mihyun’s vocal classes resumed. Her lessons for kids (she calls it her Vocal Academy) continued as well. She made a lot of money that way. It was in 2009 that she heard of auditioning for companies like SM, JYP, YG, and Cube. It was the peak of a lot of SM’ groups’ popularity. In 2009, she auditioned, and was rejected. She tried again the next year, but was rejected. The next year she tried YG, and was accepted. However, she quit after two months and auditioned for _____. She was accepted.

Her trainee days were hard, and the sunshine to her weeks was her Academy and her brothers. However, she was accepted by other trainees. A lot of people sought her comfort and advice, so she was well-liked. Finally, she is ready to debut with Illuminate! 

*FAMILY/FRIENDS:  Jung Hwansuk – Her biological father. Has been there all her life. He raised her to not judge people, because he himself was a smoker and homeless, when her mother helped him restart his life. He thinks the greatest quality someone can have is not judging people.
Lee Aesook – Her mother figure. She is more of a stricter mother, but works a lot. Mihyun had to learn to be independent from her. Aesook wants her children to be strong, but she adores all of them.
Jung Myungdae and Jung Myungki – The twins. She loves them. Myungdae is innocent and cute, while Myungki is more outgoing and talkative. Myungki is really protective over his twin, even if he’s the older one. Myungdae is basically the baby of the family, even if he’s technically the middle child. He is so sweet and Mihyun adores him. Myungki is an aspiring dancer, and he dreams of being in a group like his sister. Meanwhile, Dae has a lovely voice. Mihyun is their mother figure, and she even got a kid suspended for bullying Dae (which may or may not have been after Myung beat him up). She’s always there to comfort them if they think they’re unwanted because their father left.
Kim Jongdae is her best friend and ‘little brother.’ Even though he is older, she treats him like he’s younger since he's cuter. During trainee days, they used to go to the Han River and have a high note battle. Mihyun used to teach his little cousin at her Academy (aka her basement).

RELATIONSHIP PERSONA: Playful Mother-And-Son Couple

PERSONALITY:  Baekhyun – or as Mihyun likes to call him, the Eyeliner Diva. He’s loud, talkative, and has a great sense of humour. He won’t hesitate to tell you what’s on his mind, or what he believes. He has an opinion and he fights for it. Baekhyun can be really sassy, and he has a sharp tongue. He is very witty, but sometimes he can use that to be snarky. He’s a really fun guy, who’s actually really cute and sweet on the inside. He likes to tease people, and a̶n̶d̶ ̶h̶e̶ ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶r̶e̶a̶l̶l̶y̶ ̶p̶r̶e̶t̶t̶y̶ ̶h̶a̶n̶d̶s̶ he is really playful and mischievous. You can find him playing pranks on s, or goofing off with beagle line. Although some people say he can't take anything seriously, he knows when he shouldn't cross the line. He stands up to authority if he thinks they're doing something wrong, or if he doesn't agree with his directions. Baekhyun doesn't really know how to show his affection and gets really awkward when he's asked to express his feelings about/to someone (like Chanyeol's birthday). He's an opiniated and optimistic person, and he loves to share a laugh. Baekhyun's confident and believes in himself ("The good thing about being short is that no matter what you wear, girls will always call you cute."). He has the lamest and cheesiest jokes, the ones that you have to groan at. But overall, he's an opiniated and loud person who has a great sense of humor, but has a little trouble expressing his emotions. He loves to make people smile and stands up for what he believes in.  

FIRST MEETING:  It was a lovely night, though a bit chilly. Mihyun was waiting for Jongdae at the Han River – for their high note battle, of course. She didn’t expect Baekhyun to tag along, eager to see who he was meeting. He ended up joining the battle. Baekhyun wasn’t as trained to sing high notes as Mihyun and Chen. Mihyun could see he felt a little bad, so she changed the night to singing songs together. Jongdae had to leave, so it was just the two of them. They sang a bunch of songs and realized that their voices matched pretty well. When they were going back, Mihyun noticed him shivering. She gave him her extra jacket (awkwardly, it fit). She then chastised him for not dressing for the weather. He tagged along the next week, and then the next. Eventually Jongdae just gave up on the two and left them to their own antics. They became friends and eventually got each other's numbers (not in a romantic way). They still love to meet up from time to time, though neither thinks of the other in a romantic sense ("Eww!"). Although Mihyun admits she may have a little - a tiny - crush on him in the past.  

INTERACTIONS:  If they’re at a show together backstage, going over the script, Baekhyun will come up to Mihyun and tell her a lame joke. Mihyun will simply roll her eyes and tell him to get back to work, along with a smile and affectionate hair-ruffling. She loves to play with his hands, since they’re p̶r̶e̶t̶t̶i̶e̶r̶ ̶t̶h̶a̶n̶ ̶h̶e̶r̶s̶ ̶  really pretty. She’s kind of obsessed with them. Sometimes she’ll fangirl over SJ, and Baekhyun will fanboy over SNSD, and they’ll squeal at music videos together. Baekhyun likes to , and she will gladly back. She acts like his mother, always scolding him and reminding him. The two are friends, and they bicker constantly, though good-naturedly. Mihyun buys all of EXO’s songs and watches their MV’s, and Baekhyun vice versa. They don't spend too much time in public since EXO debuted and Illuminate is going to. They still meet up at the dorm from time to time. They only have friendly skinship, and if you looked at them, you might see an older sister and younger brother fighting over something that seems serious, though it's actually trivial. It's kind of like you were best friends with someone in your class, then they moved away. After a few years you meet them again in the supermarket. You're close enough to laugh with and tease them, though you don't do anything extreme or anything to cause fights or play pranks on each other (not that Mihyun would do that). Mihyun finds a particular liking to him because he reminds her of Dae and Myung, so when she feels homesick (she lives in the dorm and can't visit her parents that often due to media, paparazzi, traffic, etc.) she can always just send him a text. And Baekhyun being Baekhyun, inside of replying with a simple 'Hi' will send her some complicated riddle that turns out to be the lamest joke ever ("Not that one again . . .").
