Background— She was born in the night of April 14, 1990 to a very loving parents. So Yul became interested in music at such a young age after seeing performers in the street that at age 7, she started joining singing contests and snagged a deal to perform at a Chinese variety show. A SM scout spotted her and offered her the training program, at first her parents was hesitant but they agreed after learning that their daughter is really passionate about this. She started training at the age of 10 and trained six years before finally giving up when she learned she isn't going to debut soon, she figured it is because she isn't good at dancing. She went back to China and found her inner peace at yoga and again began participating performing in variety shows. So Yul gained little fame in China after performing in shows and joining singing contests. At age 20, a Woollim agent called her and offered her a training program, she is in the brink of declining it but her parents pushed her determination again and told her to be fearless and never give up. So Yul agreed to the contract, got herself a Korean citizenship (but didn't lose her Chinese citizenship; double citizenship), got herself a legal Korean name and finally after 3 years of training, she released a digital single but she waited for a year to finally debut in a group called Iris, where she promises to work even harder.

Interactions— So Yul pretends to like Yoon-G onstage but Yoon-G stays away from her as much as possible. In interviews, Yoon-G always states that she is 'watching out' for Iris, especially So Yul and says she would look over her 'carefully'. So Yul backstage stays away from Yoon-G to avoid arguments, but Yoon-G really likes to annoy her by just doing simple things that can ruin her day.

Why they are rivals— Yoon-G is Irene Kim's former friend so there went a time Irene introduced her to Yoon-G. The group played spin the bottle just for fun; when asked to choose between truth or dare, she answered truth. Out of the blue, Irene asked Yoon-G what she hates the most and then Yoon-G honestly answered Chinese Idols and reasoned that China is so big and they should stay there and build their fame their, she also said that Chinese Idols should leave the Korean music industry to real Koreans. That statement made So Yul really hurt and offended, for the first time, she really got super mad and told Yoon-G her points and said that she is one of the Chinese Idols. From that day on, they despised each other.

Jaejoong isn't safe of So Yul's charm though, because after that he became interested in her. After teeling a frisson that night, Jaejoong asked So Yul to go on dates with him in which So Yul always agrees.

Interactions— They do not act different publicly and privately. Jaejoong always initiates skinship but So Yul doesn't mind at all, in fact, she likes it.
