Educating Appa, today's lesson: Bidding system.

Lol~appa Ti...pardon my blog's title...I just find it kinda funny and I just want to tease you...

So...this settled...we should move on the 'lesson'...yeah? ehehe

You said you didn't understand what advertisement does?

I'd just explain how it works and what it does to the advertised fics, k?

Bidding on AFF is just like bidding in real life but instead of using money, we use karma points...

Who pays the highest price win the bid...

Here is where you bid: http://www.asianfanfics.com/advertising/index/0/1400829754

Just click on the day you wanna advertise and place your bid as instructed.

About the auto-bid system:

If I bid 5000 points, and I'm the highest bidder, the system will reserve 5000 points of mine. (other people won't know how much I place my bid until they out bid me).

Anyone who bids the price under 5000 will automatically be outbid by this system by 10 points. And among those who bid under 5000 points, "the highest bidded points + 10 points" will be the highest bid.

Ex: I bid 5000 points. I'm the highest.

You bid 4500 points. The system will say, "You are currently not the highest bidder". And the highest bid will be 4510. (I automatically outbid you by 10 points).

Then someone bids 6000 points. The system will say to that person, "You are currently the highest bidder ". And the highest bid will be 5010. (That someone outbids me by 10 points.)

And the system will send me an alert, "your bid is beaten". (something like that, I haven't been beaten in a while, I don't remember).

The circle goes on until bidding time ends.

You don't lost all the points you place the bid...You only lost the highest bid. You can look at the screen shot below to understand.

I bidded 9700 points, but I only lost 6445 points. Since it's the highest bid under my 9700 points bid.

How many points do you need to win?

It depends on the day but I think...around 9000-10 000 karma points for normal advertisement.

7000 - 9000 karma points for Rated M advertisement.

You need to observe the Ads Calendar for further information.

When do you bid?

You need to know when you can win and when you can't. If you have an enormous amount of karma points, you can bid anytime you want. But if you don't then you must choose the day that you can highly win.

Like, if you have 7500 points. And today's highest bid is currently 6000+, and bidding will end in 30mins - 1 hour, well, give up cause you probably won't win anyway.

Also, with 7500 points, and today's highest bid is 4000+ and bidding will also end in 30 mins - 1 hour, I'd say try your luck.

And, you must bid in the last minute.

I usually bid when bidding ends in 30-40 seconds and bid all the points you have. That way, you have the higher chance to win.

If you don't wanna wait until the bid ends to bid, I'd say you prepare at least 15 000 - 20 000 karma points to assure your (likely) highest bidder place. This bidding style goes to the rich, not mehhhh...lol~

The bidding ends at 12:00 pm GMT +7 btw...It's my place...Idk about your place though...

What does advertisement do to your fics?

It get you more readers, therefor more subbies, therefor more upvotes (though the laters depend on your fics, nah?)

Well, it's practically all advertisement does...bring your fics to publicity.

How many fics can I ads on a day?

You can ads as many fics as you want. As many authors as you want. You can ads anything you want.

Here is the pic of my bid today, if you want to change the fics you ads, just change all the contents, including Title of Ad, Description, and URL then click change bid.

Done!

Alright, I hope this blog helps you understand how the bidding system works. I also write it to explain to others too.

It's so long and I have to cook dinner now. Any further questions, msg me...k?

Bye to you~
