Style— Soori isn't much in terms of style - she shops for cheap, freesize clothing without much consideration of how it looks. Her self-esteem is tiny, so she doesn't consider herself worthy of the pretty clothes other girls wear; Soori just goes with whatever's cheap and also in her closet. Because Soori is pretty, however, her plain clothes look wonderful on her, even if they don't properly fit her. [1 2 3 4 5] She also always wears her hair in a ponytail.

Personality—

Gentle - Soori is a sweetheart, honestly - there's really nobody that she's not kind to, because she simply sees no reason not to be nice to people. In her view there's nothing gained from cruelty - it's being nice that will get you places, no point in senseless cruelty! There are people that annoy Soori, maybe, but just because of that she won't try to make their lives worse as a result. She tries her best to stay cheerful, though the odds are almost always stacked against her thanks to her self-esteem issues and anxiety clashing with her life as an idol. Also, note that Soori is not a happy virus in the slightest; the times when she's happy, she's usually just happy by herself. Soori's very introverted anyway - she can get the energy she needs from herself - so it's not like she's running around all hyperactive-like, forcing all the members to smile and be nice to one another. Soori can simply be happy and kind to others by herself and she is fine with that.

Imaginative - it's a negative and a positive trait. Soori's imagination is essentially limitless - she's always got a new idea for a story or a song or how a certain set of chords would go together, and she's almost always trapped in her head, spacing out and just thinking. It's good, because Soori's a good songwriter because of it (especially when it comes to sweet love ballads and the like, because Soori is quite frankly a hopeless romantic who believes in true love and soulmates), but it's bad because Soori spends a lot of time inside of her head. There's entire occasions when she doesn't reply to those speaking - even if they're her seniors, who she really should be listening to - because she's lost in thought, thinking about romance or whatever it is on her mind. Because of this she tends to go along with other people's plans without thinking. You can tell this girl anything and chances are she'll believe it because she has no reason not to; continuously being fooled again and again throughout her years has taught her very little if anything.

Self-conscious - it's best to get it out of the way now - Soori has self-esteem issues. Is she a beautiful girl? You bet - if she'd actually notice more than one guy she'd probably see that a lot of them like her. Does Soori see that? No, no she doesn't - as far as she's concerned there's just something about her appearance that isn't attractive. She looks in the mirror and only sees flaws in her appearance. Also, thanks to her anxiety, Soori thinks she's a burden to other people. She's not the most athletic and assumes she's slowing people down; she isn't the best vocalist and is convinced she's making things harder for the better vocalists of Stardust; she's an idol instead of working for her father's jewelery company, so she thinks she's a failure. Even if a good thing happens to Soori, she'll find a way to convince herself she doesn't deserve it. The only time Soori can really stand herself is when she's Nam Hyekyung instead of Park Soori, because at least when she's like that she's beautiful.

Anxious - she was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder the year before she joined Indigo Entertainment, and it manifests in a few ways. For one thing, when Soori does get worried, she simply can't get whatever's stressing her out away from her mind. There are things that help her control when she's worried, like being alone with her guitar, but it'll always be pecking away at the back of her mind. Secondly, there's the insomnia. Idols don't get a lot of chances to sleep anyways, so it's not like everyone's not tired, but Soori's mind is always racing - she's always got a new idea on her mind, and because of that, she's too busy thinking about those things to sleep. Thirdly, and as I explained a bit above, Soori's anxiety leads to her having self-esteem issues. Especially in South Korea, where mental illness is frowned upon or ignored completely, Soori has problems there, too. Thanks to the fact that the company pays for medication, she's a little bit better, though.

Reclusive - Soori doesn't have a lot of friends. In fact, before joining Indigo Entertainment, she was more of a target for bullies than anything else. She actually doesn't make friends easily, either; she's always afraid she's going to annoy people and acts uber-polite to everyone, which in turn alienates everyone who would pursue a friendship with her. Even when she's Hyekyung, and she's that much more popular thanks to Stardust's fans, she just doesn't really get how to handle social interaction. Soori is so used to spending time by herself that she doesn't handle social interactions well. She can't read other people (or the atmosphere of a room, for that matter) for the life of her. She's even known as one of the more camera-shy members of Stardust, and still is a bit awkward with her own groupmates.

Likes—

— Guitar - she started playing when she was 10 and has been inseperable from it ever since.
— Fairytales - a lot of girls dream of a prince sweeping them away when they're little. Soori just never grew out of it.
— Coffee - without it, she'd be a pain to deal with in the morning. It keeps her calm.
— Sky blue - her favorite color. It's on her phone as well as her favorite pair of earrings.
— Quiet places.

Dislikes—

— Situations involving being in huge crowds. She doesn't mind performing in front of huge crowds; it's being in them that she can't stand.
— Loud music.
— Scary movies. Or scary anything, really.
— Shopping. She's convinced nothing looks good on her (even though a lot of stuff does.)
— Forgetting ideas.

Hobbies—

— Songwriting. There's nothing she loves more than sitting down with her guitar and writing.
— Daydreaming - some of her best ideas come to her that way.
— Listening to music outside.

Habits—

— If she's trying to restrain her anxiety for whatever reason, Soori balls her hands into fists and digs her fingernails into her palm. (Thanks to being a guitarist, her fingernails are short.)
— She's not usually used to having her hair long and down her back, so as Hyekyung, she often flips her hair.
— When she's awake when everyone else is asleep, she pulls the covers over her head without realizing she's doing so.
— She always walks with her hands clasped in front of her, also without realizing she's doing so.
— She cracks her knuckles when she's preparing to perform.

Trivia—

— Soori's favorite song - favorite favorite favorite song - is Breakeven by The Script. It was one of the first things she learned how to play on guitar.
— Soori has never had a boyfriend and has never been kissed - she much prefers fictional people or actor she'd never have a chance with anyway because at least they won't let her down. (Her ideal type is Chris Evans.)
— Soori is afraid of thunder.
— Soori is really, really claustrophobic. She's even kind of scared of airplanes, which she has to fly on a lot, thanks to being an idol.
— Soori really, really likes classic video games. She actually has a NES in the dorm and a pirated copy of Earthbound so she can play it.
— Soori's prized posession is a necklace given to her by her mother on the day she graduated high school - a one-of-a-kind made by her father's jewelry company.
— Soori is the most gullible member of Stardust by a longshot.

Family— Soori doesn't interact much with either of her parents.

— father | park jae hyun | 56 | CEO of a jewelery company
— mother | nam shin hye | 55 | VP of said jewelery company |

Friends—

—best friend | moon na hyun | 21 | guitar shop employee | nahyun is the kind of person who would gladly roundhouse kick you in the face if you so much as looked at her funny - quick to action, slow to process the consequences.  | nahyun was soori's first real friend and hence soori loves her tons. she's the only person soori can tell anything.

reality that should be hidden

Background
She grew up pretty rich - her father, the CEO of a popular jewelery company, wanted only the best for his only daughter. Hence, for middle and high school (her life before then was quite uneventful), Soori went to an all-girls private academy in Daegu. For whatever reason - her anxiety, looks, whatever - Soori was bullied by the other girls. Locker graffiti calling her ugly, tacks in her shoes, her ponytail always being tugged on, her homework stolen...the list goes on. Name a stereotypical bullying scenario and it's probably happened to Soori. Though all of the attacks made her anxiety worse, as not to worry anyone, Soori kept it all in. She let herself relax playing guitar in her school's music room, and tried not to let the bullying get to her. The bullying ed a few days before the exams of Soori's third year of high school - if the stress of studying wasn't enough, the last bullying incident was. Soori was crammed into the closet of the music room. That's where her claustrophobia began, because it took a random first-year hearing her yelling to get her out three hours later. By then her self-esteem was in shambles, and even though she certainly wanted to fix herself, she couldn't; Soori was diagnosed with general anxiety disorder a week later, which made things worse; however, that's when she really started playing guitar, and when her musical talent got bigger and better,

First Meeting Soori ran into Hans at her usual guitar shop - she needed new music and a new pick, and was having a chat with Nahyun about music theory when Hans approached her (guitar shop - great place for musical talent, right?), asking her to call him when had a free moment. Soori was absolutely floored and stuttered a quick "thank you" before turning back to Nahyun, and when she finally got home that day, she gave him a call.

Reason— Their conversation, after Hans explained everything, went something like this:
"I-I'm sorry, sir, but I don't really think I'm pretty enough to be an idol."
"I can make you pretty."
Those five words convinced Soori to follow him - she's got such a big complex about her appearance that him simply saying that was enough.

Betting with Magic If her face and name changes, her whole identity changes too, doesn't it? There's nobody Park Soori hates more than Park Soori with all of her anxieties and that ugly face she thinks she has, but a new person with a beautiful face? That she could handle. Soori didn't think that Just Soori could be an idol, but as Nam Hyekyung who's to say she can't do anything she wants?

Alias Face ClaimLee Jieun - IU

Backup Alias Face ClaimSon Naeun

Alias Name— Nam Hye Kyung

Stage Name— Hyekyung

Persona— The Rhodonite Rose (Rhodonite is a gemstone believed to calm anxiety - it's less of a persona for her fans and more of a reminder for herself.)

Position— Vocalist, visual [Main dancer, vocalist]

Fanclub Name— Rhodies

Trainee Life
Soori didn't bother with social interaction when she became a trainee, because in her experience it never ended well except once with Nahyun. She worked on training her (fairly weak still, though it's better now) voice for the most part, as well as in dancing, but really? She still spent most of her time just practicing with her guitar and trying not to bother anyone. She was often scolded harshly by her trainers because her voice wasn't that good, which brought a lot more stress to Soori than she wanted to let on, but she was determined to get something positive out of training.

Thoughts— She's got six new girls to get to know, which she's rather nervous about; she hopes she isn't holding the better vocalists back since her voice is a little bit weak, and she hopes Stardust is successful, natch.

Love Interest— Kim Himchan [Jang Hanbyul]

Age— 24

Group— B.A.P.

Personality— Himchan's perfected a confident exterior - after all, he's B.A.P.'s visual, plus all those instruments he plays. Though his confidence doesn't stop him from being a nice person, do note; he's pretty naggy, but it's just because he cares a lot, and he'll always pick personality over looks. However, Himchan's insecure - if something about him is criticized (his weight, his pronunciation, his personality, his voice...) he'll take the steps he needs to fix whatever the problem is, even if it means hurting himself. He stresses about the little things and punishes himself harshly for his own faults, but hides behind being a confident character to not worry other people.

First Meeting— Himchan met Hyekyung backstage at M! Countdown, where B.A.P. was promoting Where Are You? What Are You Doing? and Stardust was having one of their first stages. Hyekyung was sitting on the chair where her makeup had just gotten finished, avoiding the other members of Stardust and trying to calm her nerves down. Himchan, being the nice guy he is, asked if she was okay, which almost scared Soori into falling off of her chair, but she composed herself and said yes.

Interactions— Soori's simply not used to people being nice to her. It's a fact. Nahyun's her only friend and her closest friend, but she's never had a boyfriend, let alone a friend who's a guy, so her existance is spent trying not to have Himchan worry about her (or Hyekyung, anyway). She's totally oblivious to Himchan's struggles as a result but the way he always knows exactly what to say to calm her down (thanks to having similar experiences with himself) makes her worry a bit about him. For fear of seeming to clingy, she doesn't pursue it.

Comments/Suggestions— RAINBOW. Seriously, a lot of the songs off of Rainbow Syndrome are totally awesome and I'd reccomend them and a half! Also, Call by EXID. Every Night doesnt have enough members to have it as a comeback but Call should be good with some creative color coding.

Scene Requests

— I'd love to have one of the members catch Soori taking her anxiety meds - it's the kind of thing she'd hide from the group, so uh yep there is that.
