Ryu Ahreum was raised in Gwangju, South Korea by his father. Her mom died when she was delivering Ahreum. Her mother was a musician and she was very famous in Korea. Her father was a doctor. Even though Ahreum was raised by his father, she didn't end up boyish. She grew into a sweet girl, just like her mother. All the things Ahreum wants are given to her because she was the only child. She graduated in Seoul Girls High School and she was a part of the school's choir. She badly wants to meet her mother, sometimes she would blame herself for her mother's death, but her father would always say that her mother loves her very much that she sacrificed her life for her sake.
Her mother was the CEO's close friend. When she auditioned for YG, the CEO thought that Eun Ah (her mother) was Ahreum but she said that she was her daughter so the CEO didn't think twice and trained Ahreum for she already had potential as an idol. Ahreum trained for two years. And Ahreum already knew that she improved. She trained hard, sometimes she spend all her time practicing/training and forgot to eat. She made a lot of friends and gain some haters too. But Ahreum didn't complain at all, for she love what she is doing and she wanted to become popular too like her mother.
