Microwaving an ant

Microwaving an ant

Sooo~

My mom decided to do some cleaning today… meaning we have to do some cleaning today. And by WE, my siblings and I. Cause our maid just left so we have to do some chores in order to survive. /insert scream here/

After breakfast we just did the dishes and my mom decided to clean the whole kitchen pantry and dining room. We spent about fours cleaning both and we're still not done. We ate a late lunch around 2pm. Well that's not something new. We have a messed up schedule.

So microwaving an ant… My awesome yet idiot younger brother thought of it. IT WAS ENTIRELY HIS IDEA.

Matt: Ate microwave tayo ng langgam. (Eng Trans: Let's microwave an ant.) BTW ate is the Filipino term or unnie/noona

Me: Ano? (Eng Trans: What?)

Matt: Wait hahanap ako. (Eng Trans: Wait I'll go look for one.)

Mom: Man-totorture pa kayo eh!

So Matt decided to look for ants to use in this little project. He said he watched it in NatGeo that even though you microwave ants they'll live and he wanted to test that theory.

After wasting time looking for ants in the kitchen, Matt decided to go out cause he wasn't able to find big ants.

Mom: San si Matthew? (Eng Trans: Where's Matthew?)

Me: Lumabas. Naghahanap ng mas malaking langgam. (Eng Trans: He went out looking for bigger ants.)

And yet again, after wasting time outside, Matt went back empty handed.

Matt: Dapat pala di ko sinabi na naghahanap ako ng langgam. Ayan nagtago sila.(Eng Trans: Maybe I shouldn't have said it out loud that I was looking for ants. Now they're hiding from me.)

So he settled for little ones. Placed them on a microwavable container and put them inside the microwave.

Matt: 5 minutes!

Kyna: Mashadong matagal. (Eng Trans: too long!)

Mom: Ah ah! Tuloy pa rin kayo? (Eng Trans: You're really going to do that?)

Matt, Kyna & Me: /nods/

Me: 30 secs!

So 30 seconds it was.

And after that most awaited ding, Matt took the plastic container out… To find all the ants dead. I seriously rolled on the floor laughing. I mean, I was expecting that. But his expression was priceless! Like he was expecting to be alive or something.

Mom: Oh bakit? (Eng Trans: Why the long face?)

Matt: /insert sad voice here/ Patay sila. (Eng Trans: They're dead)

Mom: Talaga! Alangan naman mabuhay sila! Eh minicrowave mo! (Eng Trans: Of course idiot! You microwaved them for crying out loud!)

Gah. I almost died laughing after we did this. My siblings and I bond in that weird way.

If you actually read this. Thank you! :) - RiksiRixa
